6:00. Seeing Johnny when we looked into the mirror was around since the early days of Cyberpunk 2077(the version before patch 1.63), it was rare, and I've only had it happen to me twice. When it triggered for me, it was Johnny recoiling in shock while V gasped "Oh Fuck!" Also something I noticed that might have been taken out was when you were free roaming around the map and V would have a relic attack randomly.
After waking up in the apartment after The Heist and having the initial fight with Johnny, he showed up in the mirror when I looked immediately after. Not sure if it was just really good luck but that’s the only time it’s happened to me.
I also would like to add that the building that Regina Jones is in would be an awesome place for a custom hideout. The view at night from Regina's floor is one of the best...I think anyways.
I try to avoid quick travel as much as possible, so northside for me. I hate riding elevators up and down so just stopping in the lot is tops. Also, free
I was 100% convinced you could unlock another apartment in Mr. Hands' place after doing all of his side jobs. Was not impressed when all I got was another car...
To be honest i REALLY wish there was a Militech themed player home with a shooting range a GIANT Armory to display EVERY Weapon that you get in the game & to put a cherry on top. i would LOVE to be able to display 2 of each Pistol & 1 handed melee Weapons. !!!

Having medical care isn't a fantasy in my country we all have it for about 200€ for one year even if you don't have one you still get treatment paid by our social security provided by the state greats fom Belgium
But you can't afford medical care in 2077? That is part of the point. Corpo V loses access to Trauma Team membership when story starts and I'm pretty sure it doesn't get back. And V's healthcare needs are so complicated it's impossible to heal in the base game.

Man I was so disappointed with the corpo plaza apartment. The Glen apartment is definitely the nicest. The amazing view and architecture almost makes you forget about all the homeless fellas across the block that probably used to live in this building before it got gentrified!
There was only going to be one winner of this, namely The Glenn, and I agree with the entire list you’ve laid out. It’s actually a little bizarre to me how nice V’s apartment is at the start of the game, as most are a downgrade on it.
I feel like they had to balance the first apartment between where you'd expect each of the three lifepaths to live. Would have been cool if each lifepath started in a different apartment, and then you could acquire the others as you go.@@nirktheman-thingstab-cutter

I made her look all corpo fancy only to then immediately need to change her appearance lol (It's still fine something to work back up to. But I feel like it could have still had some more elements from their corpo life in the starting apartment, and such)
The Glen Penthouse seems to have a nice balance of old and new, the brickwork with the railings, it's nice enough so to speak and is incredibly cozy and all that practicality. A fine choice, Sam. I raise a glass to you. 🍷
I love the Glen Loft Apartment. First im obsessed with loft apartments and second I actually feel the safest in that apartment. I suppose Corpo would be safe too but idk
I lived in one of the last few illegal loft apartments in beantown while in college, many many years ago. It wasn't nearly as nice as the glen, but had that same exposed brick, open loft platform for the bedroom, with a bathroom that was essentially just three stick built walls around a showerstall, shitter, and sink. You could look down into it from the platform. The Glen gives me nostalgia vibes like I can't express, and makes me long for a place that was probably giving me black lung while i lived there. The Glen will always be my favorite.
I'm gonna defend the corpo apartment for a minute. I just love how modern it feels. The colour scheme is great, the weapon room is completely unique from all other weapon rooms, the view isn't actually that bad, and it's a place I would probably get if I lived in night city. I know a lot of people love the Glen, but for me personally, I just enjoy spending time in the corpo apartment
the only real downsides from it are its lack of easy parking and that the front door opens every time you walk too close to it otherwise its great, clean interior, excess of activities (tea, coffee, drinking & smoking, 2 computers) also one of only 2 places where you can get a free coffee buff and its general central location make it 2nd to the glen for me if it had a place to park when I dont have to get a star from hitting an npc with my car it would be very close to number 1
The H10 is really all you need, but I think the Glen and Japantown apartments are great as well. Japantown is better situated when you're doing jobs on the east side, and the Glen for the south of the city and Dogtown. Speaking of which, besides the night I spent there with Myers, I never used the place again

It’s not in plain sight, but if I remember correctly, you exit the ‘office’ where the bed is, go to the left, and there against the wall, behind a large box that is there, you will find the pump. You repair it and the bathroom becomes functional
Have you never seen the mirror "glitch" with Johnny before? I saw it a few times at the original apartment between 1.0 and 1.6, but I haven't seen it since. Before when the relic attacks used to happen more often, and you were coughing, looking in the mirror would make it happen every time. I haven't seen it since then, I thought they removed it.
This is great! One teensy thing I'd like to point out about the Northside Apartment. You can enter and search several of the other apartments there, and in one of them is an ICONIC Netrunning Deck. Shocked the hell out of me when I found it! Specifically apartment number 1241in a case sitting on the couch against the back wall.
If I could bring Nibbles to the Glen it would be perfect. It is my favorite for the style comfort. It also feels like it would be the easiest to customize since it has such an open layout.
I was about to comment this too, that makes it even more versatile as an apartment. Although to be fair, it is a very overlooked feature that isn't immediatly obvious
Definitely the glen, although I’m definitely enjoying V’s original one this time with all the trinkets from side missions. Seriously though how was PL not nominated for best ost, it’s crazy
My favorite apartment is the Japantown one, I never had the problem with the guy screaming because uh... I always visit him first before realizing where I am in the map. I love how cozy it is, I love the guitar thing.
My one problem with the Glen apartment is the elevator door just sitting there open with a gate in front of it. I wish there was a hallway first or it just closed completely. its oddly un-cozy
The Corpo apartment is my fave and it doesn't seem to get enough love. The secured entrance with the robot doorman is cool and I love this little lounge area outside the apartment. Inside it's simple yet luxurious. Overpriced? maybe, however it's clean and sheik. It especially looks good at night, and it has the best workshop area. Obtaining the place feels like you really moving up in the world as a rising star in Night City
I also think it's fantastic in a character/worldbuilding sense. It really feels like a company pad that mid to upper level employees in a megacorp get. Sure it's luxurious but you are still firmly in the chocking grasp of the corporation with the advertisements over your bed and the view from the window making it seem like the towering office buildings are resting on top of you.
I'm quite new to the game, as I bought it on a black Friday deal. But I chose the Glen apartment mainly due to it being the most central. Without having seen it before. Very nice to know I chose the right one.... ; ) Though I still use the original loads because as you say the travel point is right outside your door. Cheers
Corpo Plaza is definitely my favourite, just feels right on my Corpo Netrunner V. Good security measures, receptionist working at all times and face/id scanners to access the elevator. Right next to Arasaka HQ, response time would be immediate if something happened assuming they’re responsible for security on the premises. Elegant lobby & halls before entering the apartment itself that adds a lot of life and immersion to the building. All it needs is roof access with a nice terrace/pads for AVs and it would be perfect.
My fav is probably Japantown, not the flashiest, but its got 3 important things for me. The incense burner, i love incense irl and its just nice to have in my fake appartment too. The guitar, its wierd such a cool interactive item isnt available in the higher end appartments, but its just nice to let V tap into their inner punk, or even kind of let Johnny take over and enjoy himself on the guitar again. And its one of the most intimate appartments while hanging with your romance partner. The Megabuilding one is in 2nd purely for those mirror interactions which i pray they add onto the other appartments eventually.
All i wanted was a house in the North Oak suburbs🙂, I sort of wanted a three tier type levels of apartments, for example. A starter corpo apartment like a capsule, second tier like the actual corpo plaza apartment and the final tier being a penthouse like the Peralez's crib. And let my romance option live with me (I meant with what happened to Judy's roommate, letting her live there still felt wrong) ... but awesome video btw ... and Corpo Plaza is my choice
Not sure if it's fixed yet, but a word of caution for the Lizzy Wizzy BD can trigger a bug that will freeze normal in game clock (waiting and sleeping moves the clock, but it won't move otherwise). Not the biggest deal unless you're trying to get the monster truck. The only fix is "time skips", where you have to sit and wait for quests.
Personally I love ALL of the apartments (the ones V can buy/own), they all have their own unique character and as a roleplaying nut I like to sleep in a diff apartment depending on how I'm/V's feeling at the time.
I really wasn't expecting any new voice lines before patch 2.1 came out. If they literally couldn't record voice lines for a certain character that doesn't even show up in one of the endings then.... 🤔
One thing you gotta remember though is that [Redacted] does have new voice lines in the expansion, they just chose to not give them any for the ending. That's not a lazy or availability issue, that's an artistic choice at that point. Now whether you like or agree with that choice is a whole different thing, but it's not like the couldn't. It's on purpose. That being said, there being zero new voice lines here and for the most part just reused assets/animations being stitched together probably hints that this was an after thought QoL thing they put together since there was so much demand for more romantic interactions post 2.0.
Johnny in the mirror started back in like 1.3 or a bit later, it is very rare however. As for the ranking, I'd have to put the corpo apartment at the top of my list
Yeah no, Glenn is down near the bottom for me in terms of apartments we own. I for one don't like living in wasted space, and those tall ceiling just don't do it for me. Also that is just TOO MANY WINDOWS. I think the theme is cozy but spacious and I just hate it. Also, it is just one large room, and I like my rooms segmented. Though nothing will beat how awful I would feel in the Corpo bed. Ugh, too open. I much prefer rooms to be smaller. Maybe that makes me more of a Hobbit I guess, would love to live in a Hobbit hole. Anyway! For me it is Japantown. It is small enough for my taste with every bit having something to do but isn't tiny like Northside.

The Glen Apartment is most definitely number 1! Very nice analysis of each place. I used to live in a loft which had a spiral staircase when I lived in North Phoenix. Definitely one of the nicest places I've ever lived.
I really wish Nibbles/the iguana and the decor items awarded after missions showed up in other apartments. That's the only reason my V doesn't live in the Glen full time, who's going to feed Nibbles??
I personally choose Japantown over every other apartment (except Vs cuz its iconic) because it feels like the kind of place i would own in real life if i was on my own. The only thing i'd change in that regard would be having an upright piano (it would sit flush with one of the walls) or a Keyboard due to that being the instrument i play
Megabuilding H10 is also the only apartment with an included garage for a few cars without mods, the gig reward vehicles are parked there if you never went to pick them up or call them out. Aesthetically though, the Glen has the least "homey" feel with the industrial design, but best amenities for the player. Overall my favorite apartment is Japantown simply because the interactive guitar, It's something I had really been wanting before patch 1.5 and was a personally gratifying addition. The outside noises can be annoying as you said there's an easy fix.
Really wish that if you moved to a new apartment, you could take your pets with you. That's why V's starting apartment will forever by the apartment I use.
Glen is still my favourite, it´s very good looking, comfortable and looks like a place I and V would spend time in. V´s original apartment is second, because it houses all the collectibles but really wish you could transfer them to the other apartments to make one of them the real primary one
I just wish that who ever you bring over can do more there or you can randomly walk in on them at your apartment. Like the Glenn, how cool it would be to walk in and they are cooking or something or you can cook for them. Idk just felt sort of hollow
The Johnny mirror feature is a rare encounter that has existed probably since launch, but my eddies are more on 1.6 since that’s when I first saw this area.
Only problem with having your partner over is it needs more Dialogue instead of only getting to ask them 2 questions, but yeah... hands down the Glen apartment is my favorite
Not if the windows were double glazed and it had cavity wall insulation. Though tbf irl I'd probably add more rugs. Carpet feels warmer than hard flooring. Personally I've always liked the idea of one of those open upper floors though
The h10 apartment is inaccessible from outside the building when you’re wanted so it’s a poor sanctuary for those of us who like to cause mayhem. This renders it less useful than the others under those circumstances.
Japantown & Northside Apartment are my favorites for different reasons. I like Japantown's aesthetic, the guitar, miniature statue, & incense with the cozy feel. Northside is like a secret base & I dig the hole in the wall armory. I just wish we could move the cat to our preferred home.
I kind of like the Dogtown Suite for its post apocalyptic chic, if that makes since. Like a place Tank Girl would squat in. Also, telling by a note left on Meyer’s makeshift desk in the apartment after the missions were done, Jacob and Taylor probably got their Rayfeild.

To defend the Corpo Plaza's management: -The customer is demanding they do something about other people's behaviour in a completely different building _(behaviour that can be ignored by just adjusting their own curtains)_ -IRL, suing the other building's management might have a chance, but I don't think such a petty lawsuit would or could be enforced in the Cyberpunk universe -While I don't mean to excuse nudists in apartments who flash other people through the window, it's asshole behaviour, expecting to live in _Night City_ without seeing this kind of thing is cartoonishly stupid. You cannot walk down the street without seeing a hypersexualised ad -The customer was pretty clearly behaving in the "Karen" MO of trying to raise complaints because they want a better deal, not because they actually have a problem they need help with. They make it clear they will not accept any change to their rent or an inch off the square footage of their apartment, what they really want is an improved room for the same price _(and the corpo plaza makes clear early on they have very few rooms free)_ When I saw the beautifully sarcastic offer to move the guy into a room with no windows, I was very happy for whoever was on customer service. _This post was brought to you by Arasaka's PR department_
A feature of the H10 Apartment is that it's mildly customisable. Logging onto V's computer you can go to an apartment Website, switch to style and change colours. There's about 5 unchangable presets, and each costs 10,000
I know the Glen apartment is the most popular, but I personally love the Corpo apartment the most. It just has that sleek, luxurious aesthetic that I really dig, and I also like that it isn't located in a shady part of town 😂 Both the cleanliness and minimalism were two of its selling points, once I got the Corpo apartment I never went anywhere else
I agree, the Glen apartment is the best one by far. I've always liked warehouse style apartments with big lofts and the glen has a nice combination of class and comfort. Not overly stuffy like corpo but not as simple as the H10 apartment.
The V turning on to johny used to happen ALL the rime in my V1 version pf the game - that and the relic acting up at the start off every day. It got so bad, I never slept as V, and made aure never to check oit a mirror. I glad by 1.6 they dialed it back.
What would have been nice with having your romance partners over would have been to have them have new dialog choices after certain events. Like how Panam talks about how "Have you heard about xxxx" and V tells her he was involved and he can tell her about it later. Being at one of the apartments would have been a perfect place to be able to tell them the full story of each of those events and help keep the "I want to stay at your place" quests feeling fresher
Lame how you can't romance Judy unless your a female character I was going for her from the start then get shot down when I went for a move lol hopefully they change it and just make all partners available regardless of gender

I've never seen a random relic attack, and that's with nearly 150 hours pre-2.0
I've played since 1.0 and it wasn't rare at all... especialy in late game

It's not completely random. Johnny shows up in the mirror if you don't feed or hydrate V for awhile.

There's guys downstairs yelling in the Japantown apartment and it makes the apartment unlivable to me. I can't deal with that constant noise.

Definitely the glen, although I’m definitely enjoying V’s original one this time with all the trinkets from side missions. Seriously though how was PL not nominated for best ost, it’s crazy
My favorite apartment is the Japantown one, I never had the problem with the guy screaming because uh... I always visit him first before realizing where I am in the map. I love how cozy it is, I love the guitar thing.
My one problem with the Glen apartment is the elevator door just sitting there open with a gate in front of it. I wish there was a hallway first or it just closed completely. its oddly un-cozy
The Corpo apartment is my fave and it doesn't seem to get enough love. The secured entrance with the robot doorman is cool and I love this little lounge area outside the apartment. Inside it's simple yet luxurious. Overpriced? maybe, however it's clean and sheik. It especially looks good at night, and it has the best workshop area. Obtaining the place feels like you really moving up in the world as a rising star in Night City
I also think it's fantastic in a character/worldbuilding sense. It really feels like a company pad that mid to upper level employees in a megacorp get. Sure it's luxurious but you are still firmly in the chocking grasp of the corporation with the advertisements over your bed and the view from the window making it seem like the towering office buildings are resting on top of you.

But I chose the Glen apartment mainly due to it being the most central.
Without having seen it before.
Very nice to know I chose the right one.... ; )
Though I still use the original loads because as you say the travel point is right outside your door.

Corpo Plaza is definitely my favourite, just feels right on my Corpo Netrunner V.
Good security measures, receptionist working at all times and face/id scanners to access the elevator. Right next to Arasaka HQ, response time would be immediate if something happened assuming they’re responsible for security on the premises.
Elegant lobby & halls before entering the apartment itself that adds a lot of life and immersion to the building. All it needs is roof access with a nice terrace/pads for AVs and it would be perfect.
My fav is probably Japantown, not the flashiest, but its got 3 important things for me. The incense burner, i love incense irl and its just nice to have in my fake appartment too. The guitar, its wierd such a cool interactive item isnt available in the higher end appartments, but its just nice to let V tap into their inner punk, or even kind of let Johnny take over and enjoy himself on the guitar again. And its one of the most intimate appartments while hanging with your romance partner. The Megabuilding one is in 2nd purely for those mirror interactions which i pray they add onto the other appartments eventually.
All i wanted was a house in the North Oak suburbs🙂, I sort of wanted a three tier type levels of apartments, for example. A starter corpo apartment like a capsule, second tier like the actual corpo plaza apartment and the final tier being a penthouse like the Peralez's crib. And let my romance option live with me (I meant with what happened to Judy's roommate, letting her live there still felt wrong) ... but awesome video btw ... and Corpo Plaza is my choice
Not sure if it's fixed yet, but a word of caution for the Lizzy Wizzy BD can trigger a bug that will freeze normal in game clock (waiting and sleeping moves the clock, but it won't move otherwise).
Not the biggest deal unless you're trying to get the monster truck. The only fix is "time skips", where you have to sit and wait for quests.

this has been patched supposedly in the latest update and for game saves currently affected you need only sleep again to get rid of the bug.

Personally I love ALL of the apartments (the ones V can buy/own), they all have their own unique character and as a roleplaying nut I like to sleep in a diff apartment depending on how I'm/V's feeling at the time.
Don't forget, H10 is the only apartment you can redecorate (change colours). So that's another unique feature there.
You just reminded me of this feature, I forgot about it considering you need to use your desktop in the apartment to change it.

I really wasn't expecting any new voice lines before patch 2.1 came out. If they literally couldn't record voice lines for a certain character that doesn't even show up in one of the endings then.... 🤔
One thing you gotta remember though is that [Redacted] does have new voice lines in the expansion, they just chose to not give them any for the ending. That's not a lazy or availability issue, that's an artistic choice at that point. Now whether you like or agree with that choice is a whole different thing, but it's not like the couldn't. It's on purpose. That being said, there being zero new voice lines here and for the most part just reused assets/animations being stitched together probably hints that this was an after thought QoL thing they put together since there was so much demand for more romantic interactions post 2.0.

Johnny in the mirror started back in like 1.3 or a bit later, it is very rare however. As for the ranking, I'd have to put the corpo apartment at the top of my list
it started with 1.0 I honestly think it might have went away with 1.3

Yeah no, Glenn is down near the bottom for me in terms of apartments we own. I for one don't like living in wasted space, and those tall ceiling just don't do it for me. Also that is just TOO MANY WINDOWS. I think the theme is cozy but spacious and I just hate it. Also, it is just one large room, and I like my rooms segmented. Though nothing will beat how awful I would feel in the Corpo bed. Ugh, too open. I much prefer rooms to be smaller. Maybe that makes me more of a Hobbit I guess, would love to live in a Hobbit hole. Anyway! For me it is Japantown. It is small enough for my taste with every bit having something to do but isn't tiny like Northside.

The Glen Apartment is most definitely number 1! Very nice analysis of each place. I used to live in a loft which had a spiral staircase when I lived in North Phoenix. Definitely one of the nicest places I've ever lived.
I really wish Nibbles/the iguana and the decor items awarded after missions showed up in other apartments. That's the only reason my V doesn't live in the Glen full time, who's going to feed Nibbles??

I personally choose Japantown over every other apartment (except Vs cuz its iconic) because it feels like the kind of place i would own in real life if i was on my own. The only thing i'd change in that regard would be having an upright piano (it would sit flush with one of the walls) or a Keyboard due to that being the instrument i play
Megabuilding H10 is also the only apartment with an included garage for a few cars without mods, the gig reward vehicles are parked there if you never went to pick them up or call them out.
Aesthetically though, the Glen has the least "homey" feel with the industrial design, but best amenities for the player.
Overall my favorite apartment is Japantown simply because the interactive guitar,
It's something I had really been wanting before patch 1.5 and was a personally gratifying addition.
The outside noises can be annoying as you said there's an easy fix.

Glen is still my favourite, it´s very good looking, comfortable and looks like a place I and V would spend time in. V´s original apartment is second, because it houses all the collectibles but really wish you could transfer them to the other apartments to make one of them the real primary one
Found it funny when you mentioned washing dishes in the bathroom sink for the Japantown apartment because that was a well known bug in the SIms 4.

I just wish that who ever you bring over can do more there or you can randomly walk in on them at your apartment. Like the Glenn, how cool it would be to walk in and they are cooking or something or you can cook for them. Idk just felt sort of hollow

The Johnny mirror feature is a rare encounter that has existed probably since launch, but my eddies are more on 1.6 since that’s when I first saw this area.
the game is now good enough for someone to convert it into a full Sims mod lol
I like to think #1 is the Major Leagues apartment Jackie would get if he was alive. I buy that one every playthough.
The mirror experience at 6:12 has always happened if you look at any mirror while having a relic malfunction

Not if the windows were double glazed and it had cavity wall insulation. Though tbf irl I'd probably add more rugs. Carpet feels warmer than hard flooring. Personally I've always liked the idea of one of those open upper floors though
The h10 apartment is inaccessible from outside the building when you’re wanted so it’s a poor sanctuary for those of us who like to cause mayhem. This renders it less useful than the others under those circumstances.
Japantown & Northside Apartment are my favorites for different reasons. I like Japantown's aesthetic, the guitar, miniature statue, & incense with the cozy feel. Northside is like a secret base & I dig the hole in the wall armory. I just wish we could move the cat to our preferred home.
Kerry's Villa reminds me of bojack horseman, not only the apartment but the vibe of loneliness and depression
The loft in the Glen easily best with best views of the city.
I kind of like the Dogtown Suite for its post apocalyptic chic, if that makes since. Like a place Tank Girl would squat in.

To defend the Corpo Plaza's management:
-The customer is demanding they do something about other people's behaviour in a completely different building _(behaviour that can be ignored by just adjusting their own curtains)_
-IRL, suing the other building's management might have a chance, but I don't think such a petty lawsuit would or could be enforced in the Cyberpunk universe
-While I don't mean to excuse nudists in apartments who flash other people through the window, it's asshole behaviour, expecting to live in _Night City_ without seeing this kind of thing is cartoonishly stupid. You cannot walk down the street without seeing a hypersexualised ad
-The customer was pretty clearly behaving in the "Karen" MO of trying to raise complaints because they want a better deal, not because they actually have a problem they need help with. They make it clear they will not accept any change to their rent or an inch off the square footage of their apartment, what they really want is an improved room for the same price _(and the corpo plaza makes clear early on they have very few rooms free)_
When I saw the beautifully sarcastic offer to move the guy into a room with no windows, I was very happy for whoever was on customer service.

The only thing I care about is distance to the fast travel point. Nothing beats the starter house.

Logging onto V's computer you can go to an apartment Website, switch to style and change colours.
There's about 5 unchangable presets, and each costs 10,000
I know the Glen apartment is the most popular, but I personally love the Corpo apartment the most. It just has that sleek, luxurious aesthetic that I really dig, and I also like that it isn't located in a shady part of town 😂 Both the cleanliness and minimalism were two of its selling points, once I got the Corpo apartment I never went anywhere else

And the H10 apartment the only one which has "skins" to customize.
I agree, the Glen apartment is the best one by far. I've always liked warehouse style apartments with big lofts and the glen has a nice combination of class and comfort. Not overly stuffy like corpo but not as simple as the H10 apartment.

The V turning on to johny used to happen ALL the rime in my V1 version pf the game - that and the relic acting up at the start off every day.
It got so bad, I never slept as V, and made aure never to check oit a mirror.
I glad by 1.6 they dialed it back.

What would have been nice with having your romance partners over would have been to have them have new dialog choices after certain events. Like how Panam talks about how "Have you heard about xxxx" and V tells her he was involved and he can tell her about it later. Being at one of the apartments would have been a perfect place to be able to tell them the full story of each of those events and help keep the "I want to stay at your place" quests feeling fresher
