I think its a missed opportunity to say that V would have been the legends of legends if the player chose the don't fear the reaper ending. Imagine the shock it would cause the world when news gets out that a single person attacks the arasaka nc head quarters and succeed. Even taking down adam smasher in the process.
@MaxRegistrator I honestly think his cyberspychosis give him a better chance. You think he'd have a better chance using his brain/experience? No, cyberspychos don't feel pain and they're super unpredictable (especially one with a sandevistan)
@@sp00kyd4ddy6 Smasher has been described as a high functioning cyberpsycho so if anything, David's cyberpsychosis put him at a disadvantage as it was uncontrolled.
id argue that just getting to max street cred is when V really becomes a NC legend, especially in any ending where you siege out Arakaki Tower which is a lot of them. The Sun is just the only ending where V themselves really even cares about that kind of thing, all of the others is V moving on with their life for better or worse. It's really rare, like it only happens like 3 or 4 time all together in game, but in certain dialogue options people will either recognize you or you can ever scare people off with your name and legend alone with a high enough street cred. We just never see V take that final step to get a drink named after them at the Afterlife.
@@vamercy8478 It's his favorite cocktail maybe, but the idea that it's an Afterlife special meant to memorialize him specifically is only ever introduced to us through Claire. That isn't so weird, it's like Arnold Palmer inventing a tea and lemonade mix and having that drink named over him. My dad once accidentally mixed pineapple and tomato juice as a kid and still enjoys drinking that mix. But that's just people inventing recipes sometimes.
Legends don't have to still be alive... I would argue the most legendary version of V is the Don't Fear the Reaper ending. The absolute fucking *AUDACITY* to just... walk through Arisaka's front door alone and throw down against their entire security force, including Adam Smasher, *AND WIN* is probably something to make V an even bigger legend than Johnny Silverhand.
Me too, this is THE best channel for lore.. I’ve fallen deeply in love with the entire universe, I can’t get enough of it. Sadly, outside of V and Claire remembering his memory, I don't think Jackie has much of a rep. He didn't really have much a track record of impressive feats and everybody thought Dexter was just a tool. If he's remembered at all, they'll just know he was one of countless mercs that bit it because they took the wrong job. If Jackie died taking out Saburo, crashing Mikoshi or zeroing Adam Smasher, that'd be different. But that's not what he was there for. I think V could've died in the middle of the Mikoshi raid and still would've been considered a legend, since backdooring Alt into Mikoshi virtually guarantees Arasaka's complete financial ruin in Night City. And V already did a bunch of impressive things before that. Honestly, I don't think Johnny Silverhand was that impressive for a Night City Legend overall. I think most of his reputation comes from being a famous musician, but he was only partially responsible for nuking Arasaka tower. Johnny himself was part of a larger strike team. He was just retroactively blamed for that to deflect blame from Militech and Adam Smasher killed him. But most of the public doesn't know what happened on that night. Probably only Rogue, the Alt construct and Adam Smasher really remember that night by 2077.
@@ved2360to be a night city legend you don’t need to be a merc or solo. you just need to make an everlasting stamp on the city. which is what Johnny did. your point of his legend status not very impressive because of his prior fame in my opinion works against your own argument. he was the leading man of the most influential band in all of night city’s history. he single-handedly changed the narrative of hundreds of soldiers lives and legacies with one album, after the whole country had been hating them due to the smear campaign the US government made against them. even after his death, he was still making monumental moves. V doesn’t live without him, V doesn’t become the legend they become without Johnny silverhand. his songs aren’t just entertainment, they’re protests, exposés, whistleblows, riot starters, love stories, and cautionary tales. and i believe that his music is the main reason he is such a legend, and it is a damn good one at that. that Texas boy is an NC legend’s legend through and through
I think V definitely becomes a legend as well in the Aldecaldos ending because he successfully leads them on a raid of Arasaka tower, kills Adam smasher and gets out with a bunch of stolen Arasaka tech. Plus, if you open the character menu after going through Mikoshi, V's legend meter. is at 100%.
