    Man, if PSE and Mathews were able to join forces, you might have the ultimate bow. Combine a V3X 33 riser, including bridgelock, centered cable guides and parallel limb design and 6.5" brace height, with a PSE-style riser grip. Then throw on the previous PSE Evolve cam profile, with tweaks from the E2 cam that improve cable side load and efficiency. Whew. That bow would be perfect for western hunting through 3D.

      Also, saying this because I am one of those guys who just can't get along with the "jumpy" feeling off the back wall for Mathews. I love the way the PSE Evolve cam draws and holds.

    I think the deal with the higher 'weight' bows (including the carbons) these past few years are companies keeping track of these reviews and know they sell bows. Moving weight around the bow to better balance and absorb shock/vibes stripped down like you said. If I strip all the dampeners and stabs off my RX4 Turbo it's a completely different bow in those categories.

  • @weiserbud12

Watching that big hump at the end didn’t interest me at all. I shoot Elites so very smooth draw. The shop I was at had one so I thought what the hell. This bow at 80% let off was a way different animal. Liked it so much I ordered one. Like you do with the bow techs flip disc I would like to see with the Pse let off changes as well. • @jmathis3
      @jmathis3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Buran01 he’s saying the “slow” v3x is 97% accurate to its rating at 332/340 and the PSE is 96% accurate to its rating at 335/348. Those numbers are essentially the same, and the V3X would actually be faster. The end of the day it’s all personal preference to feel and everyone has a bias to certain bows. Both bows are fast and awesome, ones designed by one of the greatest shooters in the world and cost almost 2x the other. I will probably be building one of those bows for next season.

      I only say that because the Mathews got 332 on a 340 advertised IBO only 8 feet off and he called that slow even though it was closer to IBO then the PSE.

    It may be fast, and light, but hasn't everyone figured out that doesn't make or brake your hunt? A happy medium, a balance, somewhere in the middle....etc. has proven to be the best, most consistent bows on the market. There's a reason why Mathews is probably the highest selling bow in the country and they realistically don't change much year to year, other than fine tuning smoothness. Basically the same cam for many years now. And I'm now a Mathews shooter, but PSE even with Dudley, will never be the quality or consistency of a Mathews or Hoyt, and they want a fortune for that thing. If you haven't figured out you don't need a 3lb bow and 340+ FPS, go ahead and spend away.....just an opinion like everyone else's.

    • @Buran01
      @Buran01 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mathews are the best sellers due despite their disadvantages overall they are still a nice bows with the best marketing, and a very good (albeit Apple level expensive) echosystem of accesories. But the three larger brands (Mathews, Hoyt and PSE) are lagging behind others in finish (Prime, Elite, Bowtech and Athens are way ahead) and lately also in tech (no rotating mods in the Mathews is a crime, albeit excusable to certain degree due they at least provide spare parts for decades).

      alot of that cost is the weight reduction. think pse stinger (bare) weight while the carbon is fully setup at a simmilar weight.
      we have a stinger x (mrs), supra focus x2, evolve 35, carbon stealth 35 (3D open hunter setup) my 3d and the mrs stinger are near the same weight (8oz extra on the stealth +31" stab +10")

    After shooting this bow and watching this review It’s very clear this dudes a matthews fanboy. This bow is incredibly smooth and fast. Hes built like a 14 year old girl and made it look like he was drawing back 200lbs haha. And he didn’t even tune the bow to factory specs before testing. 1/2” longer ata makes a huge difference. Terrible review

      I've shot the Mathews V3X, and I prefer PSE. Maybe not this exact bow, but PSE's Evolve cam system (the levitate has the new E2 desing) draws smooth and produces equivalent speeds. I really disliked the Mathews grip positioning (it forces me to shoot off the heel of my hand), and don't care for the "jumpy" feeling on the back wall. I was prepared to order a new V3X the day I shot it, but decided to hold off to see what the new aluminum PSEs offer in January.
