    Hey, found your channel today and found that mechanical keyboards that you don't have to have flashy leds and chrome keys and "gaming" features, the ones that are simple, different colours with nice keyswitches, the customisable one.. Sometimes simplicity is best, thanks for showing me this.

    Thank you for the concise explanation for the programming part! The included manual does not include the step about hitting the PN key to save the combination. In hindsight it makes sense but it was driving me crazy!

      It's cool and I thought of that too, but the "6" on the number row is on the right side when the keyboard is split.
      Check out the Freestyle Edge keyboard, it's a split keyboard with the "6" on the left side and it has 10 macro keys.

    Hey,
    how about a review of the full modular mechanical keyboard from Glorious PC Gaming Race?
    It`s something like the teamwolf you already showed, but I heared that it has NKRO, ABS Doubleshot keycaps and some respectable 930g weight so this could be worth taking a look.

    Remapping of Fn or Pn
    (You can’t change Fn and Pn positions in the default layer)
    1. Press the Fn + left shift for 3 seconds (Red LED ashes)
    (For the PN key, Pn + left shift for 3 seconds, Green LED will ash instead)
    2. Press the Fn key.
    3. Choose a new position on the keyboard
    4. End
    (It’s the same process when you want to change the PN key position.)

    "6" should be on the left side and "b" should be on the right side. My ideal split keyboard would be Vortex Pok3r with magnets to connect the pieces, tilting and an option to put a regular size spacebar.

  • @amshermansen

    Have you figured out how to rebind FN to Caps Lock by any chance? After talking to Mistel support (and receiving a firmware update) this should be possible, but I just haven't been able to do it.
    (To make it easier to have arrow key mode enabled and still have FN functionality on the default layer)
    Maybe I'm bad at reading the manual, but as far as I understand the following combination of keys is supposed to work?
    Hold FN + LShift until red LED blinks.
    Press FN once
    Press Caps Lock
    But nothing changes. Caps keeps doing caps toggling, and it doesn't work as an FN key.

    Do you think this board is better than the ErgoDox in terms of ergonomics? Thanks!

    • @TaeKeyboards
      @TaeKeyboards  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Barocco is good for arm and wrist positioning, but the Ergodox takes it further with the finger positioning. So technically the Ergodox.

    • @Jont828
      @Jont828 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! But which layout do you prefer? The Mistel has a pretty standard layout so adjusting to it won't be too hard, but the Ergodox will either be a swing or a miss depending on whether you like it or not.

    • @GurvirSingh64
      @GurvirSingh64 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you type with the correct fingers and have proper typing form on a staggered format(normal keyboards), then switching over to the ergodox will be fairly easy.

    Is Mistel like the child company of Vortex? The keycap font and stabilizers look exactly the same on the Poker 3.

    • @rich1051414
      @rich1051414 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, poker just standardized the template for mini-keyboards. No reason to try to reinvent the wheel. Other companies try but usually just end up running into unforeseen problems, like fox. Love what they are doing, but having issues currently with their stabilizers. Kinda wish they just copied cherry or vortex, but they will work it out.

    Dude Id say you should extend your variety on this channel. Maybe name it "TaeTech" and look at other types of tech such as pc components, mice, monitors, mousepads etc. This would make people watch your videos more. Quality on this channel is amazing but the variety is quite small. Just an idea :)

    • @TaeKeyboards
      @TaeKeyboards  7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Point taken, and I see where you're coming from. As a viewer myself watching other people, there's so many 'tech' channels out there which cover a wide variety of things, but consequently, don't give the best information about SOME of the products.
      I just want to deliver specialised content that I know what I'm talking about. But one of the main things is, is that I know many people's subscription boxes are filled with tech channels that don't have much differentiation. I just want to offer something different, and go deeper into the niche, to break the monotony. I'm well aware that my audience is limited, and that's absolutely fine by me :)
      Although getting free stuff that isn't keyboards would be awesome :) And many thanks for your kind words.

    I'm looking a solution for our teen-kidz computerclub. Here's the problem: they end-up on adult tables that are too high, chairs too low, so teen-kidz end-up with their elbows and arms on the table and hands reaching the key-boards in a 45° angle. These split-keyboards seem to be able to adapt to the angle that matches any kids hand, and ... they can't cheat typing letters with their right hand on keys that they should actually type with the left fingers :) What do you think? Thy

    as cool as it seems, it's just not as usuable as a regular keyboard. What's the point of spliting the keyboard when it's designed to be together. It's there to be cool and different, but it comes down to "if it's not broken, don't fix it"

    • @syahrulgraal291

    I don't want to come across too harsh on you, or to sound preachy, but. . . You really ought to take some time and effort and learn to touch type "by the book". It will pay off, I promise. You aren't alone in this. I've been surprised time and again by mechanical keyboard fans who are really into it, but then I find out they never learned to touch type properly. It's not that hard to learn!
