    I think I can speak for the sub 10L community when I say, Can't thank you enough Ali for your effort in creating quality content with no fluff.. Many of us can just barely afford the systems that you show and hesitate to invest in a combination of components that just may not work. You cover pretty much all of the potential considerations to the point that we can have more confidence in attempting to build our dream system... 👍😎

      It's not just the sub 10 L community but the entire SFF community (mini ITX) that I believe is thankful for his content.

    • @odinsplaygrounds
      @odinsplaygrounds 3 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      The "no fluff" part is such an important part. When 90% of tech channels are shilling to no end, intro and outro ads, shilling for own merch store, constantly reminding us to subscribe and ring the bell, with clickbait soyboy-mouth thumbnails, focusing more on creating over the top machines that just throw in a lot of useless shit, and so on. In this environment, OT's content really becomes "less is more", by cutting to the chase and in a more sleek manner.

    • @brentgreeff1115
      @brentgreeff1115 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea - I was just binge watching this channel to see if I can put a 5950x into a SFF case & this vid pops up. - FormD T1 looks perfect. - I would love to see a 5950x build in this case - quieter the better.

      @Gianluca Nastro 1: You're replying to some random dude, not Ali. 2: Ali literally just said that it's worse to use your PSU for exhaust. Sure you'll drop a degree or so, but your PSU fan will have to ramp up so much that your system will be louder than without a flipped PSU. Not to mention you *may* reduce the lifespan of your PSU due to the increased heat of the internals. I doubt things will change in a lower airflow case. Your best bet is to undervolt a 3080 FE, run a 92mm fan as exhaust (if you're air cooling your cpu), and pray.

      White computer tech is annoying. The different paints, textures, and materials mean the actual appearance of 'white' has a lot of variance. On a white painted case looks different then white powder coat, and white plastic looks different too.

    You could take 2x 80x10mm case fans to cool the center of the GPU (the black fins), and cap the power by 100W, while at the same time overclock the GPU to get maximum performance (and minimal heat).

  • @QuantumBraced
    @QuantumBraced 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    My guess for why the 3090 still works pretty well:
    1) The AIO fans are helping exhaust hot air that would otherwise get trapped between the GPU and PSU. They also give you some active cooling on the GPU's middle finstack that would otherwise be passive.
    2) The 3090 has such an overkill cooler, being a tall 3-slot with 120mm fans that the front fan alone can cool the GPU pretty well even if pass-through portion is only operating at 20-30% its open-air efficiency. In addition, with this case layout the GPU is getting fresh air straight form the outside.

    I think a hybrid GPU kit, using a blower and radiator, and a low profile air cooler would be an ideal gaming set up. A 5600X is more than strong enough for any 4k gaming purposes and is only a 65w so plenty of low profile coolers would do just fine; the liquid cooling is not necessary for CPU. However, you always want as much GPU cooling as possible so the combination of the blower and the radiator should optimize any of the inefficiencies of the current build using a flow through design.

    It's so ridiculously difficult to get a FormD T1 that I just got an Ncase from some guy on hardwareswap and did a dual 240 rad build. I would have preferred the smaller footprint, but the silence and low temps aren't a bad alternative.

    Make the mesh and the case the same color "bronze" as on the new 3080 FEs. That color case would be awesome.

  • @BRSxIgnition

    Was expecting to see a poll or google form or something in the video description.
    Assuming we're just throwing our vote out there though, I'd rank the panels as follows:
    Light Grey/Silver and Black (Tied)
    Chrome w/ bronze tint
    Personally if I absolutely had to pick a favorite panel I'd go with black on the E-White personally, but that's mainly just because it would work with my setup.
    For most people it may work best to have the slight silver/gray to contrast with the white of the case while keeping the same aesthetic.

    Suggestion since you have contact with FormD.
    Can they make a FE custom component to flip the PCIe riser position to the top so the Pass Through vents straight out the case?
    Or can you mod the FE to flip the fan or flip the motor polarity?

      as a ghost s1 owner, if youre planning on adding tophats the ghost s1 is too expensive w 2 large tophats and the nickel grill mine was like $500, and when you do this you end up with a pc thats not even that small anymore, w one large tophat it looks alright, also its not like ultra high quality like everyone implies my first one something was out of alignment and the top tophat didnt even fit on right i got another one and just the way the tophat screws together is dumb and the tiny aluminum screw holes are very very easy to strip if you use barely too much force and my io shield doesnt even snap in place if i wanted it to stay put it needs to be like glued in or something
