- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a restomod 1987 Chevrolet Silverado. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

The taillights are the least of the hideous details. That honor goes to the gold wipers, steering wheel, heartbeat sticker and lack of factory plate on the tailgate. I love that seat though.

Not a big fan of pick ups since I have no need for them but this one is a fantastic restoration project. I love it when people are passionate about cars and trucks in general.

My Pawpaw owned a 1979 Chevrolet Bonanza in light blue before he passed away back on 9/21/2018 at the age of 71 due to a combination of all the sicknesses he had. He was going to get into rehab to get his strength built back up but they wouldn't except him. The truck was the very first truck that he bought brand-new back in that year. I rode in it a few times. It needs alot of work done to it. My sister wants to get it so she and her fiance can restore it.

The Silverado name plate did not start till the 99 model year. Before it was just a trim level. So sorry its a 1987 Chevrolet C10. I do like your videos.
they were called silverados or scottsdales they were the same but with different name plates so they were called silverado c10s or scottsdale c10

If it's an 87 it's an r10 because that was the first year for fuel injection in those trucks.

Question: On trucks with dual gas tanks like this one, do you fill one or both tanks to get the fuel needle all the way up to full tank
i think you fill both tanks up so you can have an extra tank of fuel ⛽️ if you notice in the interior there is a switch that allows you to switch between the two tanks. what this implies to me that if one tank runs out you turn the switch to the other tank and the fuel shows as full again so really just one tank is needed to make the gauge show as full

Im glad I got one, I found it on craigslist for $1500 but it was a steal, 140k miles on it when i bought it
Thats correct on the cost! i just finished installing a Vintage Air unit into my 85 silverado total resto project the truck had factory a/c but it all needed to be replaced, this is a gen IV all electronic servo controlled and its all inside the truck not next to the hot engine!, best 1300 bucks i ever spent it went in and the slide fan speed control is infinate like a dimmer instead of just 3 speeds.
If I had to restore it I'd kept original steering wheel and tail light but is a very nice truck
Same. I hate the new steering wheel. I don't like the rims too much either.
It would sound better if it had mufflers on it and if only they had opted for the 350 instead of the 305. 350 is such a better engine all the way around. But, it looks good.

At the beginning, why did you call it a 1500? GMC made a 1500 whereas the Chevy equivalent is a C-10, as is clearly shows on the fender!

She looks terrific! Stock steering wheel and rear lights, some white-stripe tires and that thing would look damn great.
True... and I don't care for the climate controls in the pre-95's. To replace one of those is like $600 and up. I found out that those electronic climate controls were standard on all those trucks even on the stripped down base models if they had A/C. I like the knobs in the 95 and newer and the sliders on the 73-87s.

I just saw one of these today down the road at the gas station. It was all rusty just like yours and man was it neat! I talked to the owner and he was going to a show nearby.

don't like certain customizations and not a big fan of that paint but i like the look of the GM full sizers from this era and it's nice to know it's restored.i don't know how some people don't care about old trucks and let them wear out and get thrown away or scrapped;in my home area there is a 1978 ford f-series in REAL bad condition,and a GM a bit younger than this,an old ford, that could look a bit better and sound way better,don;t know the people let them get that way, don't want to either..

These are not Silveradoes, they are C/K pickup. Silverado was only a trim level to the C/K trucks.
