  • Whilst in Fez, Morocco (a majority muslim country), we randomly met HasidicJewish men from New York, United States. After that, we began our search for true Moroccan beer on a quest to become true Moroccans.. GREAT SUCCESS!

    Adventure Elliot is a bilingual travel vlogger (English and Spanish) with a particular interest in the Spanish speaking world. I enjoy taking adventures - big or small - and my goal is to show the Spanish speaking world 1 video at a time.
    The goal of my channel is simple yet complex: I want to document and share authentic & educational content of anything related to Adventure Travel, Geography, & Language in the Spanish-speaking world. It's kind of a loaded topic, but it allows me to never exhaust my creative outlets. The truth is, I've always been extremely passionate about what I'm doing on my channel, but I never properly documented it when I started adventuring as a younger man in my college years. I've made over 150 TH-cam videos in both English and Spanish, and I have aspirations to make 1000s more. If that sounds interesting to you, join the community and follow me along the way.. After all, we're just getting started.

    Hi Elliot, I love your videos. Just FYI, at 3:25 Pork! no, just like in any other Islamic or Jewish Community, there is no pork in a neighborhood eating place like that in Fez. Maybe in a ritzy supermarket in a metropolis like Marrakesh that caters to foreigners, but definitely not in that restaurant. The establishment owner/cook/server would literally be stoned by the public and prosecuted in court if somehow they can manage to find a pig (which will be close to impossible) and serve pork. in Morocco, being an Islamic state, it is prohibited by law and by a religious decree to raise, sell, serve or eat any pork products. On the other hand, there are numerous Barbary wild Boars that roam the Atlas and Rif Mountains, and the Maâmoura region of Morocco, and those are mainly hunted by Europeans who come on organized hunting excursions, or by secular Moroccans who are well-off and can afford the expense of riffles/licenses, etc (in Maroc, very very few people own guns/riffles, hence the extremely low homicide crimes), and who would secretly consume their game out of site from family and neighbors, or dress their kill in the wild before bringing home the carcass disguised as one of the rare ibex or mountain goat. By the way, the same laws apply to alcohol, however, alcohol is somehow tolerated in a hush-hush way in smaller bars, some coffee houses, and shops, and more accepted/expected in larger glamorous city hotels and clubs/bars that cater to the wealthy and Foreigners. There are other small misinformation throughout the videos, but that will take me time to comment on, Sorry, but love the videos as I said. Shokran

      @AdventureElliot  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello.. great feedback and I appreciate the insight.. I think I just made an air headed mistKe because I knew that pork isn’t a thing in Islamic countries. I would also love to visit the rif areas and Atlas Mountains. Great comment.

    I have been watching your videos they are very interesting , im born and raised in Morocco and you went some places I havent seen my self . You have been mostly to very poor and very cheap neighborhoods but it was a positive experience , better than other youtubers showing only the palaces and expensive places in Morocco ... I love Morocco , the scenery , the people , the history .. a muslim country where you will find churches , synagogs, mosques , temples, you ll see women in bikinis next to other wearing veils ..
    everyone can coexist peacefully and freely ..Our king is a descendant of the prophet (saw) and his adviser is jewish .. we are proud of our jews

    will you be going to marrakech?

    • @tt3792
      @tt3792 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Ragoen i wouldn't say its overrated. its definitely the most visited and arguably the most popular tourist destination in morocco, but there's a reason for that. there's so much to do & a lot to see, the weather (with the exception of the summer) is beautiful, and the city is home to some of the best food/restaurants and hotels/riads in all of the country. as a moroccan american who has visited marrakech more times than i can count, i've never gotten tired of it. in my opinion, marrakech is the only big city in morocco that truly encompasses/embraces moroccan culture in its entirety. it truly is a time capsule and different from any other city in the world which is why so many tourists like to visit. i won't lie it can get overwhelming, ESPECIALLY the medina, because of all the hagglers, but that's just how the medina shopping experiences . if you want a more relaxed shopping experience then you can easily just stick to the modern malls and stores outside the medina, but what's the point in travelling all the way to marrakech for that lol?? but i guess all this is just my opinion. my point is that marrakech is definitely a place to go see and make your opinion about rather than completely dismissing it based its "overatedness" or "popularity."
      oh, and the cleanest city in the world is copenhagen :)

      @Marokko 🇲🇦 I will go the opposite, it's really underrated city especially for history lovers , it's unfortunate when I see not only Moroccans but even people of Marrakech Don't know the real history of city . it's a 9/10 for me , you need someone who knows very well the history of the city and let me give you an example: my friend is also passionate about history, he successed to determine where the decisive battle of lbhira took place between the Almoravides & the Almohades .
      In terms of urban planning, I've never seen a street straight away from the beginning to the ending only in Marrakech.
      What I found overrated is lmnara , it's not deserving
