As a Moroccan 🇲🇦 watching this video made me frustrated. As citizens of this country we want to know why our government not doing anything about this ?? We are tired and need some actions 😡
I'm not Moroccan, but, what I recognize from countries that have these kinda problems is that when the economy is bad, people try to find other ways to get money. So, what the government of Morocco should do is fix their economy, not add more police on the streets for example.
As a moroccan American , Morocco is a beautiful country and ppl are very welcoming.. sad you went to Marrakech first .. hoping the government of morocco starts to send some undercover police just to catch scammers and hit them with penalties.... I went to Marrakech once and hated how they give a wrong idea about the rest of morocco.. I loved essaouira, chefchaoun,Tanger, agadir , ouarzazate... great cities and towns but Marrakech needs some government punishment attention. I bet too many moroccans will agree. Over all , welcome to morocco!
Its the same in most Muslim countries, Egypt, North Africa, Pakistan etc. and most non-western countries. Scamming is normal, they have 2 menus, English menu they charge double. If you look foreign, you get charged double/triple. A lot of people dont even know in most Islamic countries, they have segregation, like Muslim only hotels, Muslim only restaurants but nobody talks about it, This is why I dont have much time for minorities in the west who complain about "discrimination". Anybody in the west is charged the same, and prices are clearly marked. You can go to any hotel or use any service. I have no time for hypocrites who pretend to be pious, moral and religious, then all day they are ripping people off, scamming people, and discriminating against people. Im sure there are some good people, but I have no interest visiting countries like this, where discrimination and scamming is normal.
Scammers are everywhere in Morocco. Been there 10 times. Ouarzazate is more western. And I like Marrakech the most because if you know the tricks it's the most exciting with other tourists.

The food was great. I went everywhere. I lived for several years in Saudi Arabia and learned conversational Arabic which made my travels easy. I hope this is not your last stop in Marrakesh/Morocco. I'm a moroccan canadian , went there with my canadian girlfriend last year , I was shocked by all those scammers in Jemaa El Fna (the Souk in the video). And onemore thing, you need a car to visit Morocco or you will skip the best parts of it.

As a Moroccan I am disgusted by the scammers that they do not represent Moroccans, I am sorry that they treated you this way, you had to go with a Moroccan man to hang out with him, damn them they abuse Moroccans and push tourists not to go back to Morocco again. sorry curt 😢❤
dont worry bud is like that in every country they take advantage tourists all the time
I am french i have been 21 Times to morocco, was stuck there during covid... I Always hang out with my local moroccan Friends.... 40$ for hair cut lol. I usually pay 25dh. Morocco is full of scammers and Fake guides, especialy in Marrakech but full of good and honest people aswell. I like Tanja and Rif mountains😏

It's kinda standart for places with lots of tourist to have scammers. Morocco is still a beautiful country and there are nice people there this video made me want to visit Morocco someday.
He actually didn't scam him man Everybody just blaming the man they didn't understand what happened, the barber told him to pay whatever you want, and then He said "400 non dirham" basically "400 non dirham" means 2$ in our local Prices and 400 dirhams mean 40$ , but Kurt didn't understand of course so he gave him 40$ which is 400dirham , so I don't know what happened behind the scenes after he gave him this 40$, did the barber mentioned this matter to him or not ? @@sauliukas0

35:03 the potion is starting to work but you didn't understand kurt 😜😜😂
You should try visiting other Moroccan cities. That’s where you will get the genuine Moroccan experience with genuine people who are not trying to sell you anything
Not fes, not casablanca, not agadir etc
You should hit monte crysto and see the women there lol
He should travel south for sure, maybe visit small villages as well

Make him go to fes, and make him get followed by teenagers in the streets, then wander around at night and get harassed by drunk people. Good content

As a Moroccan 🇲🇦 watching this video made me frustrated. As citizens of this country we want to know why our government not doing anything about this ?? We are tired and need some actions 😡
Frustrated about what exactly? Explain yourself.
@@jacksoncornbreadmcbride6763Maybe he refers to scamers like the haircut guy or the motorbike one
@@alex-vp6ky Yes, probably, but he should be specific. We're not mind readers.
I'm not Moroccan, but, what I recognize from countries that have these kinda problems is that when the economy is bad, people try to find other ways to get money. So, what the government of Morocco should do is fix their economy, not add more police on the streets for example.

Thanks brother.

If they do it no one will scam again. The police is no joke 😂
It’s part of the experience. If they never offer hashish or scam you, then you never been to Morocco. 😅
Scammers are everywhere in Morocco. Been there 10 times. Ouarzazate is more western. And I like Marrakech the most because if you know the tricks it's the most exciting with other tourists.
The biggest scammers are the goverment
Great video!
Lmfaooooo the ending was funny 😂😂😂 these girls almost catch you lacking bro 😂😂 they would’ve scam you as well
I love your video! I've been to Morroco in 2015. Marrakech is magic. No bad experience. Very friendly people... Need to go there again. Enjoy 😊
Kurt's videos are incredibly interesting! He has such a cool way of immersing himself in different cities and countries, connecting with locals as a tourist. Love it! ❤❤❤

You got some balls on my man, doing this all alone in a foreign country. Also making an actually interesting and fun video. Respect, you deserve eveything that's coming to you.
Not much balls in this video, Marrakech is a well known destination, and he got scammed at every interaction.

Not talking about it being dangerous. Just talking about sticking out a lot. Being the center of attention everywhere he goes because of the camera. It's a hard thing to do in a place you are not familiar with. I sense that he finds it difficult but keeps pushing on and trying to make something out of everything. What interesting videos Kurt produces. I love his narrations too. He goes to places that I've been to during the late 60s through the early 80s. I worked, visited, travel through over 123 countries during my youth. I enjoy seeing and comparing, past and present, those places I've been to. My favorite place was Morocco. The people were great. The food was great. I went everywhere. I lived for several years in Saudi Arabia and learned conversational Arabic which made my travels easy. I owned a villa in Marbella, Spain with my family for about 8 years which gave me easy access to Morocco when I was home in Marbella. Kurt, keep producing videos of your travels. I subscribed since I've been watching for awhile now.
What line of business to travel 123 countries back in those days?

I hope this is not your last stop in Marrakesh/Morocco. I'm a moroccan canadian , went there with my canadian girlfriend last year , I was shocked by all those scammers in Jemaa El Fna (the Souk in the video). I didn't buy anything unless the price was displayed publicly in any store to avoid being scammed. I recommend visiting Agadir/Essaouira/Tangier/Rabat. With that being said, the best part about Marrakesh is the luxury industry, luxurious hotels and nightclubs and restaurants, the market in the video doesn't represent the city , its beautiful but the people there are such vampires trying to leave your wallet empty. And onemore thing, you need a car to visit Morocco or you will skip the best parts of it.
Agree with this got a local to drive us round to some great bars etc.
I strongly agree
The barber participated in the video and that is why he was charged this price. He is not a regular customer and he will make money through this video. Be reasonable
Sounds like a dump if u only have luxurious parts as the good parts in America most of it for the most part is good 🤣

It still amazes be how humans love to be crowded together like this. There is absolutely no reason you'd get me in a place like that.

Hey Kurt, I love how you put the picture of those girls at the end of the video in the thumbnail of the clip. That was a masterpiece move.
Bro, I’m Moroccan, 40$ for a haircut is wild!!! We get haircuts in Morocco for 5$ and in chic salons you pay maximum 20$. If I would get a haircut in that guy’s barbershop it’d have been for 3$. And the the vendor at the end was right, those girls weren’t complaining, they were trying to flirt with you haha. Stay safe bro.
