    Looks like the douhua that place serves uses agar as coagulant, which makes the douhua a little bit translucent. Douhua made with agar has a totally different texture than the traditional douhua. Traditional douhua uses gypsum powder as coagulant. Also, douhua served with soy milk may be a more southern Taiwan thing. You can still find stores in the north do that, just a bit rarer.

    • @chopsticktravel
      @chopsticktravel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We saw a few places doing it with soy milk here in Taipei, but you're right, it's way more rare.

    ?... This vlog is so amateurish. Please learn from the Food Ranger (30 year old vlogger) or Sonny in the Best Ever Food Review or Mark Wiens. You have no passion that comes through...more journalistic than inspirational. Sabrina looks too conservative and is more uninspiring. Use this Covid time to address your branding, your styles and format. Most food vlogs with couples never make it...just being honest here so apologies for hurting your egos. Sheena and Thomas have tried for over a decade and never quite made it. Only ONE star. Also...learn to speak the local language...it helps your branding. Watched many of your videos and you both come off like tourists vlogging rather than knowledgeable food vloggers. The experienced ones do their research, know the place by visiting and trying it before hand, yet making it seem like it was their first time. Because they have millions viewers, it is quite a responsibility. The Food Ranger and Mark Wiens are fluent in many languages and endears the audience to their vlogs.
