Quit awarding it as a full playoff award. No other sport does that. “It was perfect”?? How was it perfect to have the Conn Smythe Trophy recipient being booed? Hold the vote immediately after the game is won; they’ve got at least 30-45 minutes while the Cup is being awarded and passed around. Vote among the players from the winning team. The NHL is expert at making itself look bad.

First, did anyone ask... Connor McD? And last, did anyone else notice the only way The Toronto Maple Leafs were mentioned during this Stanley Cup Final Round was when Florida officially went ahead 3-0?... "And not since the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs has any NHL team ever come back from being behind 3 - 0 in a Stanley Cup Final?" Every Day! Every Day here in Toronto we heard our teams name as the ONLY team to have ever risen to that challenge. And I suspect that's the only time you'll ever hear the name, The Toronto Maple Leafs during a Stanley Cup Final for decades to come, possibly forever. My point? To... the Edmonton Oilers... we in Toronto thank you for that. And.. so do the 1993 Montreal Canadiens. And of course... Paul Maurice was once the coach of The Toronto Maple Leafs.
All joking aside, Congratulations Florida. The best/better team won. Training camp begins in 2 months.

Edmonton's big boys weren't there for game 7. McDavid, Hyman, Leon, Nurse....they weren't there because Florida isolated them. Got on then quick and didn't let them make a play. Except for parts of period 3, McDavid was barely noticeable. For the most part, the Panthers D and back checking was enough to get the job done!

If he devalues and/or despises the Conn Smythe trophy and the history of all who have won it that much, that he can’t be gracious enough to accept it, he should be stripped of it and all record of him ever having won it should be expunged. It should go to the next player who garnered the highest amount of votes. We have coddled these sports “prima donnas” and enabled them far too much. We have condoned their tantrums for too long.
