Thanks for sharing this recipe. I just cooked it tonight for dinner, it’s so delicious! I substituted the Chu Hou paste with Char Sui sauce from one of your recipes instead of using oyster sauce as I originally planned to use. It still turned out so yummy. The finger meat was quite fatty, so I removed most of the fat before parboiling for 5 minutes. However, I might have to lessen the time to pressure cook it to 20-25 mins. next time because the meat and vegetables were a little too tender.
The “hmmm” from Dude was the final seal of approval! This dish sure does look like it’s the picture to go along with the definition of “comfort food!” TFS, Sharon🤗🇺🇦
I made a close version of this tonight, as I didn’t have star anise, rice wine, or chu hou (they are now on my grocery list for round two). Used a bit of ground cinnamon, brown sugar rather than crystalized, hoisin & gf soy sauce, and it was still DELICIOUS. I can’t wait to try it with all the ingredients!
30 minutes with a QPR in the instant pot is all you need for the boneless rib finger meat...no need to par boil, making it even quicker. Add meat then veg and top with sauce... I also only used 1/2 cup water, it was more than enough. 😋 very good
Hi Flo and Dude! Happy Sunday. I must admit that I've never heard of finger meat, I assume that it is beef.? I love using my pressure cooker, its like dump and go!! And everything is so tender and delicious. I look forward to trying this dish. I hope my butcher doesn't think I'm crazy when I ask about finger meat!! LOL!! 😁🐥🐰🌷
Love your stew recipe , must confess the cut of meat you use is not what we get here , Jamaican butchers just cut up any which way and package it how they want 😊, difficult to get real “cuts” we would buy . Anyway I am going to give your recipe a try , stay healthy and safe , 🙏
Actually pressure cooker is easy to cook anything.... 😊😊😊 . Just want to ask..no need add tomato sos? Coz i watch other receipt beef stew...many of them add tomato sos....
I just found this recipe & I have a couple of questions…can this be made a crockpot? Where can I find finger meat? Also what the name of sauce you used that said paste on the label. Thank you 🙏🏻 so much!!! You so teaching me!!!
Flo my mouth is watering watching you making this yummy beef stew. We don’t have finger meat here in the US I don’t like beef stew meat either too dry .
looks so yummy..I enjoy your videos, find them relaxing with your easygoing personalities, thank you! I don't have a pressure cooker, but a slow cooker.Any hints for success? or just cook like other stews?
I miss eating stew. I grew up eating my mom's stew and I learned to cook the western way. I want to experiment using an instant pot versus a regular pot. Do you know how long each pot will take to cook this?
Can I ask if is okay for you can you list down all the ings on the descriptions box for easy to follow thanks and I really appreciate it I love to learn how cook..godbless
“We need more Calgon!” “Ancient Chineses Secret, Huh??!!” …I guess we remember the same old commercials! 🤣. Great recipe! I can’t wait to try this one!👍🏻
Value and flavour, I liked what Dude said, also simple and no fuzz, I don’t I finger meat, I have digital muscle, wonder if that is a good replacement? I have daikon but out of potatoes, wonder if I can used daikon instead? Nevertheless I like the recipe 🥰yum!!!!
Have found it in both Asian and regular supermarkets. It is the meat behind the ribs and come in long strips usually vacuum sealed packets and often found in the freezer section. Hope that helps.
@@FloLum ok thanks! It's just that beef is $$$$ and chicken and pork less so. And I've never found the finger meat! My partner really wants to try it though
Thanks for the recipe! I was wondering where do you usually get your finger meat in Van? I've noticed that TnT always sells finger meat pretty much on part to or more expensie to stew meat. It sits around $10/lb for me. Would this be the same for you?
seems to me it is the same as shank, I get it at t&t in metrotown, beats the packaged stew beef in the supermarkets, it is always dry even with lots of sauce.
I usually use the shaved beef steak to replace the finger meat she mentioned in the video when I cook in the US. I guess it may be the same thing actually.

Beef fingers is unheard of here in the heart of Northern California's Silicon Valley

"who wants to cook everyday? Even i dont want to cook everyday" is such a comfortable thing to hear.

made this for dinner and absolutely love it! also the smell of the cinnamon and star anise filled my house which was a nice bonus.
This recipe looks amazing and delicious. Can't wait to try thank you so much for all your wonderful food ideas.
Watching this on Good Friday!!
Can't wait to make this after Easter.
Yummy
Brilliant idea for the teabags! I just bought some which will illuminate half of my infusers for tea. Also, the idea of using them as a sort of Garni.

"Ancient Chinese Secret" was from Calgon commercial from the late 70's to early 80's. It's on TH-cam if anyone wants to watch it

I’m definitely going to try it, seems very simple, the ingredients are easy to find. Thank you 😊

Try using a prime Angus chuck pot roast! Cut it into chunks in the size you prefer. I NEVER buy cut up meat!
looks so yummy..I enjoy your videos, find them relaxing with your easygoing personalities, thank you! I don't have a pressure cooker, but a slow cooker.Any hints for success? or just cook like other stews?
Yes… just cook like other stews. Might need more liquid.
I miss eating stew. I grew up eating my mom's stew and I learned to cook the western way. I want to experiment using an instant pot versus a regular pot. Do you know how long each pot will take to cook this?
I made your recipe with steak and it came out delicious .
Flo and DUDE are everything Believe it!!
This seems very similar to the Beef Brisket with Daikon. How is the taste different please? Thanks for sharing your cooking.
Hi Flo, what brand of pressure cooker are u using?
What if you don't own a pressure cooker? Could this be done in a crock pot?
Flo your stew looks delicious. I've never seen or heard of finger meat. It's rock sugar the same as rock candy at the Asian Market?
Flo my mouth is watering watching you making this yummy beef stew 👍
I don’t think we have finger meat here in the US .
Try the freezer section. It’s usually vacuumed packed. Or ask your butcher.
@@FloLum thank you flo

This stew looks really tasty, but I'd strongly reccomend adding some garlic :)
i tried your recipe tonight , it was so delicious 🤤
Where to find chu hou paste...? Or what is a good substitute? Looks similar to korean chunjang or maybe japanese dark miso...? Delicious!

I really want to try this, it looks delicious
is there any substitute for chu hou sauce? other than hoisin, can doubanjiang works too ?
Can you find the finger meat at a typical grocery store or is an Asian market a better bet?
Best bet at an Asian market but I have also seen it at regular supermarkets. It’s usually in a vacuum sealed pack. Sometimes in freezer section.
What is your position on MSG, do you use it!
Hearing a lot about finger meat from your video, where did you get it from?Asian supermarket or local ?
Have found it in both Asian and regular supermarkets. It is the meat behind the ribs and come in long strips usually vacuum sealed packets and often found in the freezer section. Hope that helps.

"what else am I doing?" much love, looks good.
i tried this. It's good! thank u for the recipe.
You use QR for meat? I always thought/was taught that would make the beef dry.
Stew looks great! Couple questions...can I add onions and can we use another protein? Chicken or pork?
I will say yes to the onions and you can always try pork or chicken!
@@FloLum ok thanks! It's just that beef is $$$$ and chicken and pork less so. And I've never found the finger meat! My partner really wants to try it though

suggestion, add daikon aka chinese radish, it will soak up all the beef flavour
Oooh, the stew looks delicious!!! Is there another name for “finger meat”, as have never heard of this type of meat.
Have not seen it packaged under another name. Google it! 😊
There any gluten free recipies?
seems to me it is the same as shank, I get it at t&t in metrotown, beats the packaged stew beef in the supermarkets, it is always dry even with lots of sauce.

Hi from UK. What is beef finger meat?
I usually use the shaved beef steak to replace the finger meat she mentioned in the video when I cook in the US. I guess it may be the same thing actually.
Where did you get the wooden mallet?
I have no idea! It has a metal tenderizer on the other side.
We bought the same mallet not too long ago at Bed Bath and Beyond here in Edmonton, Alberta.
Thank u!
Nit putting salt?
YUM YUM 😋 😍 Always!
