Once they obtained a huge following in their music it's not that hard to expand to other industries and social media regardless of what they look like. They are also not just DJs, they are music producers and (even though it sucks that it still matters) mostly male. If you're a chick people care far more for your appearance regardless of your field. She is "just" a DJ and she utilises her looks/personhood to attract people to her work as a DJ. Not vice versa (which is the case for the more mainstream "mask performers" (deadmau5, Daftpunk, Marshmello etc.)).
