I love Guthrie. He talks about how cool these folks he met are and I believe it but he seems pretty cool himself and a good friend. You run with the right folk Otis. Always appreciated your work Otis as always thank you.
I was a friend of Guthrie's uncle Jerry back when he first put a guitar in his hands. I believe he was 12 at the time. Didn't take long to see he was incredibly talented. Some of the pickin party's his parents and uncles put on were legendary. So happy that he's living his dream.
I met Billy at the Underdog a couple years ago ,I introduced myself, he treated me with the utmost respect, like we had been friends forever, what a genuinely nice guy was the night before he was inducted into the musicians hall of fame,,,,,,,what a kick ass show ,glad I was there
I love Guthrie. His lessons through Artist works have made this old dude a better player and his style in general makes me miss the US. Great interview, Otis.
Billy Gibbons is the epitome of cool! I'm a Texan and Texas people are kinda of spoiled when it comes to having great artists come from our great state. It's in your blood, growing up here! When I think of bad ass blues/rock tone, I think of Billy Gibbons....Tres Hombres, Rio Grande Mud, Fandango, and Eliminator. All desert island albums!
I first saw Guthrie playing with Kenny Vaughn. I like his demeanor. Cool guy. He’s right, Otis. You are getting a lot of great people with stories archived in your videos. Great education and history being preserved. Thanks!
Back in 82 during a T-birds show at a local club, inside Jimmie's open guitar case was a Jazz note primer, like a Mel Bay type. I always thought the was neat.
Hangin’ with Luther Dickinson in New Orleans. In a rough neighborhood. Good stuff right there. The rough neighborhoods in NOLA = the real deal. Alex Chilton even chose to live in one.
Thanks for this one Otis. I'm a huge Guthrie fan and love his channel. He's a straight shooter, no BS and I love to hear his stories. I was lucky enough to see him with John Oates in St Pete, Fl. One day I'll get up to the Underdog in E.N. to see him. I Love the vibe of your videos and all the great stories from all the great musicians most people don't know. Thanks Otis
Congratulations on the 100K benchmark Otis! Thanks for having Guthrie on too and he's correct in speaking about the importance of what you're doing man. Thanks, Guthrie for the cool Billy Gibbons and Jimmie Vaughan stories man!
I love this channel. Otis's superb taste in music, best guests anywhere, are really special. The reverence for everyone's music and stories unites us all. Keep on ✌🏻
Nice! Keep 'em coming, Otis. Really love that you are chronicling these stories and history. Like GT said, These guys aren't going to be around forever and the next generation needs to have this archive that they can access for inspiration.
Man Otis this is one I’ve been waiting for !!! I have loved Guthrie’s playing for years !!! Plus I like that we are both from the same part of the country he represents us well !!
I love GT I have learned a lot of stuff from that guy..he is a nice humble guy who just happens to be one of the best on players on the planet. cool interview..I always look forward to your show Otis.

Guthrie is one of the top guitar players in Nashville, which is really saying something. Check out his new album with fellow Nashville Guitar master Tom Bukovac (A.K.A. Uncle Larry); it is great!
Make no mistake! Guthrie is AS cool as Billy! I'll never forget when I ran into him at Fanny's last fall, had a little jam and bought me lunch at Happy Cow, shared phone pics and life stories, even offered to take me pedal hunting! Guthrie gave me something real and I'll always respect and treasure his spirit of generosity.
Thanks for this one, Otis 🙏🏻 Guthrie is one of the most knowledgeable and talented of the Nashville music scene. I enjoy his videos as much as yours. It's good to see he's pretty much the same demeanor across the board, not to mention a pretty good storyteller. Be good to you 🙏🏻🤍
Amen! Keep telling the stories - and no-one/nothing dies. Shout out to Eddie James (Son) House got me wondering if you headed into East Rochester, Otis, when you made that run. Son House worked the rail line in my hometown of ER, ended up writing about the Empire Express that went through there.
Guthrie is amazing. I’ve been a fan for like ten years. That dude cut his chops in the pan handle of Florida seven days a week playing music. Cool dude!
I had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Billy and his BFG band in Waikiki yesterday. Absolutely super cool. Speaking about buying stuff, he lamented about the closing of Dollar Stores where he says he’s dropped a few thousand. Maybe good ol’ Texan story telling, but now I’m thinking probably true. Then the band segues into Cheap Sunglasses. Naturally. 😉
Man, Guthrie, you nailed it at the end. if we share their stories, they live on. Thank you for being a living example of that. I'm jealous btw....... I would LOVE to hang with Billy. I've been a fan of his for my entire life. Also, thank YOU Otis, for archiving all these fascinating insight s into the world of music, with no "fluff". Keep em coming. Mitch
I used to watch Otis's videos every Saturday morning. Somehow life got in the way, and it's been a while. I see I've got a lot of catching up to do! These videos are treasures!! GT reminded me here that Billy has a guitar string company, or is involved with one anyway. I'd have to dig a pack out to get the name, but it has a "wolf" on the front. LOL I bought 6 packs of the 7's, remembering his story with BB. We were sitting around the kitchen table one Sunday night and I decide to put a set on. I got out my favorite Strat, I got them all on but the 7. I broke 3 more, finally on the 4 try I got the 7 to wind!! It doesn't take much, they are very easy to over wind and break!! You also learn very fast to have a light touch! Very easy to bend, not on purpose!! LOL Put a set on one of your guitars. Then watch Billy play again! You'll have a whole new perspective! LOL 8) Great stories!! --gary
The "why ya working so hard" story.... Wasn't that in a Guitar World magazine interview (or something similar) back in the early to mid 90's with Billy? Where's Andy Aledort when I need him? Ha! Great interview with GT! I just wanna say, I think you are invaluable to "real" music, Otis. I cannot find the right words to express how important I believe what you are doing is for music of all genres. Thank you!
Love Guthrie, really bummed the CD he and Tom made sold out so fast! Bummer! Billy is a really cool dude according to the guys I know who have met him. Does he still collect two dollar bills?
B.B. told Billy, why are you working so hard. I don`t know, maybe B.B. didn`t want to be out-toned so sent Billy on a wild goose chase in the wrong direction. I can`t play those high-gauge strings but all the guys that do have killer tone. see SRV.
You should subscribe to Guthrie's channel and tell him Otis sent ya!

I met Guthrie Trapp, and he’s every bit as cool as Billie. Amazingly talented and a very humble guy.
I love Guthrie. He talks about how cool these folks he met are and I believe it but he seems pretty cool himself and a good friend. You run with the right folk Otis. Always appreciated your work Otis as always thank you.

Thanks Otis and Guthrie 👏👍great stuff!

Guthrie is the man. Such a great musician and down to earth.
Great interview guys!

Trapp talking Gibbons…pretty cool, man.
Wonderful stories ! BTW if you like Jimmie Vaughn on jazz check out his trio Live at C-Boys with Mike Flanigin it's a Must
Love Guthrie, really bummed the CD he and Tom made sold out so fast! Bummer! Billy is a really cool dude according to the guys I know who have met him. Does he still collect two dollar bills?
Brilliant stories!
It seems that these guys who are on top of the guitar world, are like us in more ways than we can imagine.
I really enjoyed that. Thank you kindly.
Great stories thanks 🎸
Good Stuff ✌️
that was great
Guthrie is such a cool cat, love that guy!
I heard that Tony Iommi was another surprise light string guy with heavy tone.
GT is a super cool cat.
I’d love to hang out with Guthrie, he is just as cool as BFG in my humble opinion. I wish I could hang out with those 2 for a day or 2 .
wow cool so cool
How cool is that guy?
Otis you should get a doorman from Roberts Western World on your show. Bet they could tell some good stories
When an old man dies; a library burns down.
Any old person.
⚓️ Thanks Guthrie 😎 Otis 🌈
✨💞✨
👌😎
GT is also one of the nicest guys around.
Man if Billy Gibbons was my friend, I could know upon my death that my life was truly blessed. Billy is the coolest cat on the planet. Thx Guthrie
There’s a picker!
Guthrie!
I saw Buchanan. His bends were otherworldly. I'm sure his strings had to be skinny as heck.
Billy Gibbons gave Bryan Huffman "LAIDLAW"Houston Texas a silver ring and now i own it stays on my finger for that MOJO
BFG and GT ✌🏻🎸🎶
B.B. told Billy, why are you working so hard. I don`t know, maybe B.B. didn`t want to be out-toned so sent Billy on a wild goose chase in the wrong direction. I can`t play those high-gauge strings but all the guys that do have killer tone. see SRV.
