Alright guys. I definitely watched the shows ever since the start. And maybe I must have not realised that some moments were making fun of the right. But the thing is, I'd probably couldn't care less. The show was pretty much peak fiction for me from season 1 to 3, which is has not been the same for season 4. Or at least for the first 3 episodes of it ( the next 3 were pretty good). There's a lot of people who feels the same way about this. You could simply searched it up right now. And although my analysis on this topic was pretty shit, I stand by my opinion.

They been making fun of the right. Im not surprised they turned it up to 10 for the election year. The difference between marvel and the boys is that marvel writes half assed stories with the sole purpose of including minority, LGBTQ, or women characters. The boys writes a show with believable characters who just happen to be these things. It's completely believable that Frenchie is bi, it had been written in his character seasons ago. Sister sage draws hilariously accurate attention to micro aggressions. Season 2 was filled with "girl power". The point I'm trying to make is that because the boys is a satire, it has the freedom to explore these modern topics in a realistic way. The audience gains from seeing these dynamic characters work together rather than corporations like Disney who don't use these traits to explore anything about the characters, rather to... well... not get cancelled?
I wouldn't even say the show has been categorically "making fun of the right" anymore than the left, or anyone else for that matter. The "girl power" in S2 was specifically left-targeted satire, making fun of the cynical corporate gen-Z feminism that Stormfront embodied. She was perfectly modelled (whether intentional or not) after the "Stormfront or SJW" subreddit where the joke was that US progressivism is so authoritarian and hateful that it's indistinguishable from actual Nazism.
IDK how people keep missing the message of this show: Rich assholes and celebrities will pick any political affiliation, and tell you literally anything, so long as it serves their interests. Actual politics are for poor people.

1. Frenchie is not all of a sudden gay, seen other comments backing this up so no point diving in.
2. Starlight is a key point of the firecracker plotline, what show are you watching.
3. Butcher is only appearing soft because he is dying and coming to terms with mortality, pretty easily explainable.
4. the show has a massive element of social commentary, just like south park and just because the show presents corporations virtue signalling with rainbow flags and inclusion, doesn't make the show woke, it is pointing out exactly what you're accusing it of doing. Also, the mention of anything LGBT doesn't make a show woke either, it is representative of society if done like they have in this show. In other shows not so much, but the boys gets the balance right without shoving it in your face, if that makes you uncomfortable then that doesn't make the show woke, it makes you uncomfortable with the reality of modern society.
5. sister sage is not a "virtual signal" as you so intellectually put it, but she is a character set in a world much like our own, where men and women of all colours and creeds roam around, so to introduce a new character and her be a black woman is not a virtue signal, but just another character. It is you who's highlighting the fact she is black and female, not the show, the show in fact poked fun at tone deaf feminism with the "girls get it done" tagline from season 2 so just stop. If it builds on the plot, it shouldn't be an issue, if she was just there with no explanation and her power was "being a girlboss" then sure, I'd agree.
In conclusion, it feels like you're trying too hard to find something to dislike instead of just watching the show. The boys pokes fun at a lot of things, if you're right wing and don't like it when they hit on the right, maybe you're just so bothered by it that you can't or won't see it when they make fun of the left or "woke" corporations. But ultimately the show really isn't woke, it isn't trying to push an ideology on you or change your beliefs and ethics based on the plotline and characters, it's just got really good social commentary. If you want to bash a painfully "woke" show (as much as i hate that meaningless word) for virtue signalling and fake inclusion, bash something like She-Hulk.
I've also just thought, the actress who plays firecracker is gay and plays a homophobic character. Is that woke? Is that pushing "the gay" on you? No. If anything it's like Sam L Jackson playing the house slave in Django.

The Boys have equally criticised both the right and the left, it's just that this season they are making more commentary on the right-wing. They have already made fun of the left in the other seasons, like when Ashley wanted to bring that Blind superhero to the Seven (the one who Homelander killed by bursting his eardrums) because his disability and him being asian would make Vought look inclusive and progressive, even though they aren't. Or A-Train's arc where he tried to change his costume and celebrate his african decent, only to end up having his brother handicapped. The Boys constantly point out the flaws of politics, religion, social media, capitalism/corporatism etc. AKA doing what every satirical parody TV show does, and that is criticising.

Looking back, I guess it always have been. But there's simply a huge dip in quality in season 4's first 3 episodes and the wokeness seemed to increased. But episode 4 is great tho. I'm gonna post a video on it tomorrow. Hope I can get your opinions on it!
The issue is how on the nose it's become. I watched 3 seasons with no issue. I might have rolled my eyes once or twice at random throwaway lines, but that's about it. This season it's becoming far too much to just ignore it and move on after a simple isolated eye roll. I'm rolling them practically every other scene and it's making me go "wait did a political message go over my head right now or was that just an actual normal enjoyable scene?" Regardless of if the show has always expressed woke views, until season 4 it was subtle enough, well written enough, and spaced out enough that I either did not notice, did not care, or just cared too much about the rest of what the show had to offer to let it get to me. It's not about wether or not the show has always had woke views, it's about how in your face it is or isn't. People didn't "all of a sudden realize it was making fun of them" as people keep saying, they just noticed a massive increase in how much the show started doing it in season 4 compared to other seasons. I saw a comment somewhere sharing some statistics they found where they counted any time anything they deemed as woke was said in each season. I don't remember the exact numbers but season 1 was just a handful, seasons 2 and 3 increased a little bit but was still very low across the entirety of the seasons, and going into season 4 this person counted into the 20s with times the show did or said anything woke. And that's with the season not even being over yet. It went from a handful per season, to dozens before the season is even over. And THATS the issue here. It has nothing to do with if the show has ever expressed a woke view before it's about the massive increase in it.
I definetly agree with you, that it is still better than most of the shows today, and even though it may be woke, it is still a great show that has still so much to offer.

Trying to call a potential plot inconsistency with Neuman (being able to cut her palm but survive a headshot) “woke” really makes no sense. It’s already hinted at that supes are able to control certain parts of their powers, which is probably why Homelander isn’t constantly being overstimulated with his super-hearing or super-smell. And considering her power directly has to do with *blood*, something directly affecting the skin, it would make sense she could weaken her skin if she wanted to. Regardless, that’s not an example of “wokeness”.
Also, she’s not “empowering”. She’s very openly painted as a horrible and corrupt person. She forces her daughter to take compound V, slaughters dozens of innocents for her own gain, and is constantly engaged in corrupt governmental behavior. She’s more of a satirization of an AOC archetype than a stand-in for an “empowering woman”.
And then you compare her to the pandering garbage that Marvel puts out because… what? She’s confident? Composed? None of the female characters in the MCU you’re hinting at her being similar Mary Sues to are even remotely close to her. She’s a sleazeball politician. You just saw a female character who’s written to be competent in what she does and reactively compared her Marvel, calling her an “empowering” character. Did we even watch the same show?

Plot issue? Maybe- but they prolly had to add it or otherwise...she's not that threatening. She was scary before we and the characters knew who she was. Now that everyone relevant knows, a bullet to the head would have made removing her way too easy as a threat. Her being durable is needed. Arguably, the writers may have painted themselves in a corner on that front.

Season 1. I knew homelander was a rip of trump. His constant need for validation just screamed it. Also the reason frenchie and MM, had issues. Was cause frenchie went to go save save his BOYFRIEND who od'd. This was a big plot in season one as well. Frenchie also wanted a trans stripper for MM party. This is all before season 4 and some of season 3.
During season 2. the head showrunner said trump was a big inspiration for him., in a interview Also Anthony starr (homelander). Saw a MAGA in a homelander outfit and called him a dumb***. Or a a-hole. One of those two. I forgot which one.
But yeah the boys has always been woke. Still great and the show is ending anyways after season 5.

Another thing. This season homelander has been struggling with getting old. So I think they are gonna make homelander wear lots of make up like trump. During ep 2 after Ryan's practice save. Homelander is his own character that existed before Trump even ran in the comics. To reduce him to purely a Trump parallel makes him pretty boring. I want to say I appreciate the fact you're actually open to the flaws in your argument. I definitely think some things like the ab**ion and Frenchie plot were definitely forced but the season is overall pretty good. Ep 5 was a let down compared to Eo 4 but it was still pretty good, Butcher became an actual Butcher je*us. She literally kissed him last season and he ran out of the room for coffee. I feel like this was pretty well established for his character and was never outright stated because- no one cares.

Why is it getting more dislikes, it's a legit take, shows are prioritising wokeness over writing. Yes Frenchie isn't "suddenly gay" but it's "suddenly" showing up when he has a thing with Kimiko that grew for so long perfectly to get axed in favour of having him act on being gay.
With sage and newman it's sad that it is just a tick box agenda all the time to be inclusive, can't argue they're being woke really since there's been a lot of white female "heroes" before her all strong but making her the smart one I can see how that would be interpreted. It does line up with the story since the seven were questioned about not having too much inclusivity which Homelander probably thought about.
And as for Newman she probably made her blood so dense she can't get her skin pierced unless she wants it to be, she controls blood like she showed after cutting herself so can focus it all in one spot as we do naturally (although to a far lesser degree).
Overall though you still said you liked the show and that it was good, it was just that S4 is weaker which is true and is becoming what it was initially a parody of which again is fine and so is the idea of the protests but seeing it that much and starlight be nothing but a lead for the protest is just tiring, we've seen favourite characters in franchises get sidelined for one purpose that flattens their character and growth altogether

It's a "woke" show. It always has been, Homelander is a characature of Trump and the Home land security. Vaught is a representation of companies corrupt power abuse and the 7 being pushed around and dictated in their personal lives like Disney. Other than The Boy personal lives, Vaughts "Brave maeve" and lgbtq movies were perpousfully exaggerated to make fun of Disney and the like using lgbt themes for a larger demographic for profit. It never wasn't woke, you're just media illiterate.

Its more likely she thought the guys were a threat since she saw Frenchie and Kimiko and thought they were plotting on her or her mom, which they literally were.
It’s a left wing show but it is far more economically left than socially (making fun of corporate rainbow marketing and stuff like that). It’s very intelligently done and had me adjust my own political belief after doing some research on the right wing stuff they were making fun of (privatisation of the military and pharmaceutical companies).

As someone who just binged watched the entire show from season one up until the latest episode I can confirm that the tone drastically changed from the first season,it went from being a character driven drama that showed the complexity’s of superhero’s living in the real world that made fun of both sides of the political spectrum to political satire that mostly only makes fun of one side without the interesting character development.Gee it’s almost like if you alienate half your fanbase four seasons into a show your only going to get half viewership,explains this seasons 51% audience score.

Ahsley's DEI inclusion mocks corporations not actually caring about the stories they tell with minorities, and how that harms perception of minorities. This is something the left also criticizes. The right doesn't criticize this practice so much as they just get angry that minorities are in a story at all (Yasuke in Assasins Creed is an example).
On Maeve. The right would never push for a more gay icon, you're right. That being said, the invisibility of Bi people is something I've only seen discussed in Left leaning spaces. And prominent LGBT speakers, like Council Of Geeks, have spoken out often about the commodification of gayness by corporate media. The fact the show digs at this, means it's taking a Leftist perspective on it. Our main characters are made up of 3 foreigners, a black man and Hughie, while the main villian of the show is called Homelander and is dressed in the American flag. From the get go, patriotism, fake news and Idol worship nave all been under fire.

I can see how season 1 to 3 could be considered woke. But what what I was trying to say is that it didn’t really affected the quality of the show that much, at least for me. The first 3 episodes in season 4 however seemed to went all out on the ‘wokeness’, which made them extremely mediocre or terrible at worst.
