It's a myth that the original Crow movie had to be changed a lot due to Lee's passing. The movie was mostly completed when the accident happened. They only had a few days of filming left.
@@caesarjergensno. What they did was use his stunt double for distance shots. It's kind of obvious in certain parts of the film where Draven's hair is covering his face
The Crow 1994 was not too far removed from the shooting script. The only significant change was the death scene which had to be adjusted to address the actual death. That said, it was significantly different from the comic. To begin with, the comic was basically the Joy Division discography inked. Most characters were named after Joy Division members, every chapter was preceded by JD song lyrics. If they are smart they will stay within that genre for the current soundtrack because the 1994 soundtrack was stellar- The Cure killed it with Burn, NIN weighed in with a JD cover of Dead Souls, you had Thrill Kill Kult filling in for Skinny Puppy- hell, even the Stone Temple Pilots song was tolerable. They need The Cure to return on the new soundtrack because with Ian Curtis being dead and New Order not really resembling JD anymore, The Cure was the spiritual successor and perfectly fit the feel of the comic.
Not _too_ far removed, but there were definitely some other significant changes. For instance, they had Michael Berryman as the supernatural character 'The Skull Cowboy', whose role was to explain the rules of his resurrection to Eric. One of those rules was that if he strays from the goal of killing the baddies directly responsible for his and Shelly's death, and he helps anyone else, then he will no longer be invulnerable. In the finished movie you'll see that after the Funboy scene, Eric suddenly has black electrical tape around his midsection. It wasn't there before and this is due to his helping Darla by removing the morphine from her veins. It was originally scripted that Funboy wakes up and attacks him at this point, slashing at him with a razor and so Eric uses the tape to stop the blood loss which isn't magically healing. The scene either hadn't been filmed yet or was removed along with the Skull Cowboy stuff. I actually think this is for the best as that character sounded kind of goofy and added an element to the storyline that wasn't required.
@@robirvine6970 Michael Massee wasn't going to be the best man at his wedding! Brandon's best friend is the actor Bill Allen (best known from the eighties movie, 'Rad'), but even he wasn't goind to best man, as he had promised the job to his sister, Shannon.
I remember reading the comic some years after watching the movie and noticing the differences too, as the comic was indeed very Joy Division influenced.

Another point I think is lost is that most activists come from gentrified areas. The slums got cleaned out, spruced up and then became these areas where neo-politicals, artists, LGBT, hipsters types moved to, did business, built the cafes that over charge sandwiches with odd ingredients and coffees turned into frappenipplecream with 2 shots of turbo, small places that showed the indie art movie that normies never heard of with a plot progression only ballet lovers would understand. This is where activism came from while criticizing the rest of the world.
Shogun episode 3 surprised me, as it makes a substantial deviation from the story I remember. I won't spoil it, but some events seem unable to happen after episode 3.
Just wanted to say Sid Sweeney is awesome. She's right up there with Sofia Vergara & Salma Hayek. Humm? I feel like there's a theme here, a common thread that ties these beautiful ladies together. Wonder what it could be?
No. Sweeney has no acting ability. She's got a rack. That's about it. Besides that nothing special to her. Heather Graham blows her out of the water. Heather's got expressions all over the place. She has range. Comedy drama thriller. She has great films in every genre. Sweeney doesn't.
Heartbreak Ridge is one of my all time favorites! Great Characters, Great Dialogue, Funny, some decent drama! and holy shit Clint was jacked up! Can quote that movie for days!
My favorite piece of trivia about that movie is that the scene where they use a grunt's credit card to call an airstrike over the phone is based on an actual incident from the Grenada operation. 😄
You know what would be fun, take treatment for a story, send it to one sensitivity reader, implement their corrections, send it to another, then another, then another... in theory, at some point, one of them should say, "i can't find anything wrong with this"
Now I'm just remembering a story of how the white directors of _Princess and the Frog_ realized mid-writing that they don't actually know that much about black culture, and so brought on consultants and reached out to folk like Oprah to rework the story; and people in the comments were bitching about "it's a shame these white men were put in charge of this project to begin with; see how little they know about the culture!" Like bruh; they literally realized their shortcomings and _asked for help and education,_ which is what you're supposed to do; so the problem is literally just that these veteran animators who would've been making a project that year regardless dared to make a cartoon that isn't about white people.
I like how Brendan Fraser now looks like my dad. Just another in a long list of reasons why I like him. It's a shame what happened with his career before he came back. He deserved better. I seriously need to see that film. I've seen The Mummy series, George of the Jungle and the one where they hold a radio station with fake guns for their rock band.
The Crow remake/cash grab will FAIL…….because reasons: 1. Brandon Lee’s performance (nevermind his tragic demise) 2. Supporting cast ALL EXCELLENT 3. Devotion to the source material 4. Alex Proyas’s direction 5. The SOUNDTRACK, MY GOD!!! 🤘🏼👍🏼 It was also, like the Miami Vice TV show, completely of its time. CAN’T BE REDONE, REBOOTED, RE-ANYTHINGED. THAT IS ALL.
They already tried bleeding the ip dry with countless wannabe sequels back in the day. Everything after the first is non canon to me, there was only one crow movie. Michael wincott was amazing in that movie too
I know I'm the odd duck here but I liked RE5 more than RE4. I also liked that a African BSAA branch that was formed specifically to monitor that region, that whole crew was great. I'd like to see more on them.
I must point out that an actor can turn down an Oscar for non-political reasons. George C Scott turn down the best actor award for Patton because he did not believe that actors’ roles should or could be fairly be pitted against each other. He did not like the Oscar system. On the other hand, he did not surprise the Academy. Apparently, he told him well in advance that he would not accept the award if he want it.
2:24:07 @Critical Drinker: You dying over and over in HellDivers2 would be like Edge of Tomorrow. It would be glorious. Mauler can be your Emily Blunt.
Discussion at around 35:00 is on point I think. It's very similar to the music industry (I'm a musician). To record and produce quality music back even 20-30 years ago you needed so many resources it was impossible for many people. You were completely dependent on giant companies to give you money/studiotime upfront and take a lot of your rights to your own music in return. I mean just to put artificial reverb on something you needed a specific room with a huge machine in it and cables all over the building and people managing that stuff. But now I can make amazing sounding music in my home with minimal gear and I can focus all my creativity and energy on the music instead of dealing with big companies and traveling all the time and even publish it myself. It's a dream come true! (There are new issues ofc) I can see that the movie industry will take a similar path. It's already starting to happen that really small teams can produce super high quality action/sci-fi stuff with great effects etc. that is just as good as what big hollywood is doing. It's great. Because I'm sure there are some super talented humans with great ideas around that would never have gotten the chance in the current climate, who will be able to create their visions.
G'day from Aus fellas, man the Wokesters are sure giving us plenty of fuel for the Fun Fire atm. I was just downloading some Sydney Sweeney movies when I noticed the video up. She certainly doesn't mind getting the twins out! Perfection! She's my new favourite, she's a really good actress too.God bless you Sydney!
The whole nonsense about Resident Evil 5 being racist is mainly said by woke westerners. Most of us in Africa never saw it as racist. Heck! We were actually excited for the game since the setting of Africa is perfect for survival horror. The main issue with it was the bad AI, co-op, and too much action and QTEs. It just wasn't as good Resident Evil 4.
Stuttering Craig on SideScrollers has talked about creating a new game awards show to combat the woke ones we currently have. This is something we need to make happen! Get Melonie Mac in sexy outfit on a stage hosting the event, calling out awards that gamers actually voted for in polls, and there's no way the current game awards could compete for views. They would CRUSH it.
My first game was Nethack. I still play Panzer General, Red Alert 2, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (the latter 2 with the Mental Omega and Expanding Fronts mods respectively).
Edit: Drinker says it'd be fine if it was a black person shooting black people. No they'd still complain that it's blacks killing black people, calling it a racist depiction of black culture by racist white developers. If it was a black person killing people in Spain, they'd be happy, claiming it's a revenge plot for all the white colonialism and shit. Also there were strangely a lot of white people and Mexican looking people in Resident Evil 5. But that just gets strangely glossed over.
Rather than cycles, it is more accurate to say "If companies do A, then they will put in motion a chain of events (B, C) that if uncorrected will lead to a death spiral (D) and eventual self-destruction." It isn't inevitable, but A can take many similar forms that all nonetheless lead to a predictable degeneration in quality control.
I'm a Native American from Canada and I love all the sports team jerseys with INDIANS as its theme. I personally accept the honor, acknowledgement and positive intent behind their usage.
One of my favorite movies that is so simple yet left a deep impact on me since I was little is Steven Spielbergs Duel. I was already in love with his other works, but it was watching Duel that I think first opened up my brain to realizing I enjoyed quality of movies storytelling more than most people. I was in fifth grade doing an assignment on biography and picked Steven Spielberg so I of course watched his origin film. Duel, so simple yet so well executed, I wish there was more like that today.
Not being a detestable woman is pretty easy. Don't be fat. Be charming and friendly. It's not hard, there isn't 58 different bullet point requirements like women have for men. Be moderately attractive and don't be a b****. And yet so many still refused to do that bare minimum.
I have no problem if they want to make another crow movie. I do however have a problem if they want to make another Eric Draven movie!! The Brandon Lee version is perfectly fine as it is…I have no desire for a remake, or reboot involving that character!
It's the ego and their arrogance and hubris. They've been raised on the smell of their own farts. They think they're the people's choice just because they play pretend.
While Fallout 3 & New Vegas definitely had a grittier, brutal style. The later 4 and 76 were far more campy-silly. Basically embraced the aesthetic while tossing the tone for almost slapstick humor. Show looks like it's following the same route.

As far as I am concerned the weight of Brandon Lee in The Crow, is the reason that movie stands out. His performance. His tragic accident and his heart went into it. It is something that modern Hollywood can not reproduce. This is taking a dump on the original as well, actors/actresses sell their selves to anyone with the money. Look at madam web, or many other dumpster fires that had the name recognition of the talent only. The Crow is a masterpiece that should never be touched. Just appreciated
I agree with Chris Gore, awards shows is genre that has very niche audience. As a guy I NEVER I've never tuned in to watch one of them. Honestly I enjoyed Dune 1 a lot more than I thought I would given the reviews you guys gave it. It's a slow burner but I very much enjoyed it all.
1:21:10 start of the crow discussion
It's a myth that the original Crow movie had to be changed a lot due to Lee's passing. The movie was mostly completed when the accident happened. They only had a few days of filming left.
Did they not superimpose his face on someone else for a few shots? I`ve always heard the movie was indeed practically finished, shooting wise.
@@caesarjergensno. What they did was use his stunt double for distance shots. It's kind of obvious in certain parts of the film where Draven's hair is covering his face
@@meathooks79 Thanks I vaguely remembered they had someone stand in for him but I forgotten exactly when or how.
@@meathooks79love when people add no. With a period to their sentences. Just makes then look like such dbags lmao
If they are smart they will stay within that genre for the current soundtrack because the 1994 soundtrack was stellar- The Cure killed it with Burn, NIN weighed in with a JD cover of Dead Souls, you
had Thrill Kill Kult filling in for Skinny Puppy- hell, even the Stone Temple Pilots song was tolerable.
They need The Cure to return on the new soundtrack because with Ian Curtis being dead and New Order not really resembling JD anymore, The Cure was the spiritual successor and perfectly fit the feel of the comic.
It's crazy he was killed in the scene he dies and was killed by the best man at his upcoming wedding
Best comment
I remember reading the comic some years after watching the movie and noticing the differences too, as the comic was indeed very Joy Division influenced.
I always love seeing how the intros evolved, came a long way since I first stumbled into this bar
Dang... I was about to finish watching FNT but the gravitational pull of Sidney Sweeney has made me crash into Open Bar. And YES, they are that big...

Sweeney, Vergara, and Hayek tied together? That movie could break some box office records.
So tits= talent now?
Give her time.
thank you Chris - for everything you said at 14:21.
You know what would be fun, take treatment for a story, send it to one sensitivity reader, implement their corrections, send it to another, then another, then another... in theory, at some point, one of them should say, "i can't find anything wrong with this"
Now I'm just remembering a story of how the white directors of _Princess and the Frog_ realized mid-writing that they don't actually know that much about black culture, and so brought on consultants and reached out to folk like Oprah to rework the story; and people in the comments were bitching about "it's a shame these white men were put in charge of this project to begin with; see how little they know about the culture!"
Like bruh; they literally realized their shortcomings and _asked for help and education,_ which is what you're supposed to do; so the problem is literally just that these veteran animators who would've been making a project that year regardless dared to make a cartoon that isn't about white people.
Dude! Chris was tips and tricks! I fucking Loved that mag!
Wow, ok no one mentioned the Brendan Fraser movie Bedazzled for best Devil. Elizabeth Hurley was hot af
Omg yes. You are clearly a man of taste….
Best Devil is easily the ahead of its time CGI one from Spawn 1998
I like how Brendan Fraser now looks like my dad. Just another in a long list of reasons why I like him. It's a shame what happened with his career before he came back. He deserved better. I seriously need to see that film. I've seen The Mummy series, George of the Jungle and the one where they hold a radio station with fake guns for their rock band.
@@RhysCallinan-hf7qx Blast from the Past is also a good watch.
The Crow remake/cash grab will FAIL…….because reasons:
1. Brandon Lee’s performance (nevermind his tragic demise)
2. Supporting cast ALL EXCELLENT
3. Devotion to the source material
4. Alex Proyas’s direction
5. The SOUNDTRACK, MY GOD!!! 🤘🏼👍🏼
It was also, like the Miami Vice TV show, completely of its time.

Really love seeing everyone in the opening!
Honorable man. Love that George C Scott

Love the Critical Doggos legs up in the air! :)
(There are new issues ofc)
I can see that the movie industry will take a similar path.
Regarding the studios, thats exactly why Chaplin, Fairbanks & Pickford started UA. They did not want to conform to the big studios at the time.
It's funny that they let a Prime Minister's son stay with them in the 1920s.
I like that Drinker often invites smaller channels on. Other big channels are fine, but we've usually already heard their takes on the covered topics.
G'day from Aus fellas, man the Wokesters are sure giving us plenty of fuel for the Fun Fire atm. I was just downloading some Sydney Sweeney movies when I noticed the video up. Perfect Days was a perfect movie directed by a legendary director and absolutely deserved to be Japan's pick
Next one should be set in Australia only theres no t-virus, you just have to survive the wildlife lol…
Ultra hard is the only difficulty option 😂🤣😂🤣
@@EmptyAltruism that would be actually be freaking awesome 😂👍
Stuttering Craig on SideScrollers has talked about creating a new game awards show to combat the woke ones we currently have. This is something we need to make happen! Get Melonie Mac in sexy outfit on a stage hosting the event, calling out awards that gamers actually voted for in polls, and there's no way the current game awards could compete for views. They would CRUSH it.
My first game was Nethack. I still play Panzer General, Red Alert 2, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (the latter 2 with the Mental Omega and Expanding Fronts mods respectively).
A fellow Panzer General enthusiast. Mad respect. It's like better chess for me personally.
Oschalube - Mauler, 55:08. I love you Mauler, no homo. Please don't change Mauler, don't ever change.
Love Chris Gore rant starting at 41:36.
Idk if Chris already didn’t like BCL, but boy does he keep getting his panties in a wad every time he says anything 😂😂
Chris doesn’t like anyone taking the spotlight off of him.
The original version of Bedazzled is my favourite version of The Devil. Peter Cook is brilliant in the role.
Sidney Sweeney doesn't talk bad about the fans and that quality is so rare that when we see that quality they get instant fans.
Not being a detestable woman is pretty easy. Don't be fat. Be charming and friendly. It's not hard, there isn't 58 different bullet point requirements like women have for men. Be moderately attractive and don't be a b****. And yet so many still refused to do that bare minimum.

Amazing how happy with themselves Hollyweird celebs are.

Agreed superchatter. Elektra isn't great but compare it to Madam Web or The Marvels. It's a masterpiece 😂
I couldn't tell you the difference between the Oscars, Academy awards, Emmys, or whatever the British have (Razzies?).
But my wife loved them. So it's not like they had mass appeal even back in the good old days. But now even their niche audience is shrinking.
The pendulum is not swinging. It is just on hiatus for 2 years. They will go back to there same crap.
