This car is full hybrid not mild. It has small battery under the back seats and you can drive 100% electric for short time. As for the engine better 2.0. The 1.8 struggle a little too much for my taste. P.s I have 1st version of CHR and i love it. The 2nd generation is even better imo.
Another word for the version we drive is HEV, and the 2.0 you mention is a PHEV, as you can charge it:) You are correct that the 1.8 also can drive full electric for some time.
And to correct myself again, you are correct the word “mild” hybrid is used a little wrong here, as you typical say a mild hybrid can not drive on full electric. The correct terms are HEV and PHEV. Sorry for the confusion:)
I have the 2.0 GR Sport version. It is a full hybrid (there is also a plug in hybrid available) and I think that extra bit of power makes a big difference in performance. The noise during acceleration does not bother me….I quite like it! It’s very easy and fun to drive and is very economical around towns and country roads where it mainly uses battery power. I like it a lot and am very pleased with it.

This has to be the worst review of the CHR on You Tube I have watched, this guy talks absolute rubbish..
Thanks for the comment, I’m trying my best. Do you have any improvements?:)
