Am I the only one who's been killed countless times because if you try firing the Sawed off shotgun before the weapon fully registers as being reloaded it decides to just reload again?
Oh man, I’d be livid if that happened to me haha, I only used the sawed off during the beginning quest and once I got an automatic rifle I never went back
No. No you are not. I’ve been livid about that and I was surprised more people weren’t complaining about it online when I was looking it up but at least I eventually figured out the reason even though it is still ridiculously annoying. Another thing driving me nuts to is the inability to switch between shotgun shells and slugs. I tried everything, unloading first and pressing change ammo but it always just combines both of my ammo types into one big pool and the only way I can tell what I’ve actually been shooting is by the number of each ammo after the fight when I open my inventory and of course it’s all of my slugs being used up when after I’d been trying so hard to save them. I just had to give up on it. And don’t even get me started on the sneaking and bandit spawning either. @@ReadyF0RHeady I believe you should play the games in chronological order (Clear Sky, Shadow of Chernobyl, Call of Pripyat) but I know not a lot of people like Clear Sky, so I think playing them in release order is fine.
@@ReadyF0RHeady Play all three, but the first one (Shadow of C) is awesome for the story and lore building, the second just because it's STALKER (even if not the most popular one), and the third because it's the most polished of the three. I've played them so many times I now play STALKER Anomaly, which is a heavily modded remake and worth looking into if you need MORE STALKER after you play the three to your liking.
_Totally_ different to Fallout in many ways. Personally I think it has way better atmosphere and worldbuilding, and the FPS mechanics are superior. There are _so many_ modpacks for this game/franchise. Some of them leave the overall game mechanics/progression untouched if you want the vanilla experience as the devs intended, but just polish up a lot of the bugs/jank and improve the dated graphics a fair bit. Others (like 'Anomaly') completely overhaul everything and combine the first 3 titles into a whole new experience with a shit-ton of added features and upgrades. Some purists will argue it's best to experience the games as first intended though... 🤷♀ TBF: For a first timer I think STALKER: Call of Pripyat is much more accessible, not to mention more polished (even unmodded) than Shadow of Chernobyl. CoP is definitely my favourite of the original game trilogy (i.e. Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat).
Yep, like others side, not much comparison to fallout other than the apocalypse setting. Stalker is closer to metro than anything, and that’s only because metro even the original book was heavily inspired by roadside picnic, which is the book stalker itself is based on. And the og metro 2033 gameplay and atmosphere takes a lot from stalker
Pro tip for pacifist run: -drop a save -charge in -gun jams and you die (guess they use raspberry jam instead of gun oil) - reload game and the enemy is now friendly, trade all you want -as you wave goodbye from safe distance they realize they don't like you and try to attack, but too late 😎
I gave up literally 5 meters away from the wish granter due to dying from radiation, couldn’t be bothered to do it again and load a save so I stopped playing as I was going to have a heart attack from raging 💀
I never originally finished Clear Sky tbf and just moved onto Call of Pripyat, which IMO is the best of the three. Been playing a lot of GAMMA recently though - that modpack, damn... takes STALKER to a whole next next level 🙂
@@DodgyDaveGTXCoP is too small and too short. CS is the best in my opinion. CoP is more shooter and less like the other two. Yes, more polished but definitely needs mods like the rest.

I got out of PC gaming just as this was originally released and had always wanted to play it. All these years later all 3 games out on PS5 is a dream come true.
@@krisisgaming It is. Pro tip. There is a merc suit in the village. And you can bypass bridge going on the right. If you save 20 000 RU before helping Nimble, you can buy unique Groza aka S14 Tunder from Sid with AK ammo. Original was pretty easy actually. Search for stashes and you will be fine.
A cool thing in this game if you don't give fox a medkit he can actually bleed out and you can get his info from his body. There are so many hidden things and hidden side missions for this game.

Fantastic video. Glad you had fun with this amazing game. I played all the three games, and had put considerable hours into Anomaly, and this is still my favourite one. Clear Sky, not so much. Call of Pripyat is the most polished one, but SoC nails the atmosphere so well, even if the game is bullshit early on and frustrating at times. Great video! Subscribed!
I've played through Clear Sky and am not half way through CoP, but CoP doesn't have the same feeling like the other two do. SoC is definitely one of the better ones

@@krisisgaming yes if you play stalker shadows of chernobyl and add ZRP mod. ZRP stands for Zone Reclaimation Project. It fixes the bugs in the game which the devs couldnt. And tweaks the game. I would advise after finishing trilogy to try couple standalone mods, like lost alpha, oblivion lost remake, lost alpha took old unreleased cut content added few they're own zones and custom story, few new things like driving car, its great mod, story might be meh but still great mod in my opinion, oblivion lost in other hand trying to restore unreleased version of old stalker build before even was called stalker game but oblivion lost game, they basically restoring things based on old videos, files and other things, also the also atmosphere is much different, you feel more isolated, there are less human presence in the world, you feel more lonely, tasks doesn't show where things are, they only mention buildings where things can be found, like "Go north and you see train tracks, on the right side there is tower and on top you will find file" you basically need to read for finding objective things, there is no green mark like in oroginal trilogy where to go showing, it feels more like old rpg games without hand holding and markers, similar to old world of warcraft games

Odd, the only think I noticed was my fans kicked on in my pc, which was concerning since this is an older game, I did crash maybe once or twice but never when it booted up , have you tried verifying your files through steam?
@@krisisgaming The fans kicking in is because of the game's unlocked framerate. During loading and FMVs, your GPU can push out THOUSANDS of frames, which is not good. Lock the framerate by forcing Vsync or forced framerate cap. really glad your enjoying the series but you should play stalker modded. it brings stalker to its peak and honestly i think modded stalker is going to be better than stalker 2 for awhile.
@@krisisgaming I like to think modded is honestly the intended experience. Overall it adds in many fixes and gameplay additions that are quite helpful. Like Skyrim or fallout honestly. Just look at the openxray project that’s being made for all 3 games also and check out ray of hope. It’s a multiplayer project for stalker that they’re gonna make in unreal engine 5. Looks like it’s gonna be great.
Quick question: why are you, and so many newbies in general, always playing SoC with the uglier DirectX8 mode (Static Lighting)? I mean sure, it's not awful, and kinda was made for it originally, but the DX9 Full dynamic lighting mode makes the game looks sooo much more modern and more atmospheric. What comes to aiming and all that, people don't seem to realize that STALKER uses bullet physics, on top of playing like a gear-oriented "RPG". This means that even if you aim down sights, guns never become laser-accurate, especially at distance. Things like rusty pocket pistols and sawn-off shotguns are borderline useless past ~30 meters, and have crap armor penetration to boot. Yet all the guns CAN 1-shot any human, even the player, if you hit them to the noggin. A skilled player can literally waltz all the way to Chernobyl NPP after the first few minutes!
Haha you’re not the first to point some of this out, I just played the game as it was, I didn’t touch the settings, that’s partially to blame that I don’t usually play older games and most newer ones set the settings automatically, but don’t worry, I’m clear sky, I did change the lighting, I promise haha
1:08 Something to the effect of "rifleman" or "gunslinger." 2:29 Most mods do away with that "hit probability" malarkey. 5:29 The flesh is a pig spliced with the genes of a fly. That's totally Cronenberg! And their twisted faces remind me of the Toxic Avenger! 🙃 6:01 Pigs. Imagine what the goat version of a fleshpig would look like! 🙃 9:56 Fortunately, even if Seriy dies to Deth, you can still get the necessary info from his PDA. Happens automatically when you search his corpse. 12:55 You found the Storming Nikonov! 13:51 Buckshot is the cure for all mutants in 'nilla ShoC. Even from the humble, unassuming, Mad Max-like sawed-off. But if you want more of a sporting challenge, try nailing snorks in the head with a pistol. Works best with a .45. Any will do. 15:40 More specifically, it's because you're wearing a Flash and a Sparkler. Moonlights are the best stamina-boosting artifacts. Two will give you infinite stamina if you're not encumbered or rapid stamina regen if you're encumbered. You won't need more than Two Moonlights. Two Flashes will do. Or one Moonlight and one Flash. But once you have the best, you might as well use the best. Anti-bleeding artifacts are also good, Micas and Slugs being the best. And Crystals are the best anti-radiation artifacts. You need at least two to get a good enough effect. 16:24 If you want to increase an NPC's chances of survival at least a little bit, you can sometimes equip them with a better weapon. In 'nilla ShoC, NPC A.I. will recognize a weapon as usable if it meets certain criteria, including: condition has to be good enough, has to have at least one round in it, and it has to be the same caliber as the NPC's default weapon (but I'm not sure if that's consistently true because of there being two weapon slots). In Professor "Kroog's" case, his A.I. only allows him to use weapons chambered for 9x19mm, meaning that the best weapon he can use is an MP5. Still, that's better than a P99. Most mods allow NPCs to use a broader variety of weapons, and sometimes even armors, so you can gear up yer buddies enough to make them actual contenders in the Zone. 18:16 Notice how the sights are screwed up on the LR-300. You aim over the rear peep instead of through it. What was it with ADS-having FPS games from this era with those misaligned sights?! Borderlands 1 had a few instances of that. Borderlands 2 had even more. Soldier of Fortune: Payback was ridiculous with it. Yer 'sposed ta aim THROUGH the rear sight, not OVER it! Anyway, most Zone mods fix that, making the LR-300's iron sights line up right. Usually, they also revamp the in-view weapon model (and typically also the in-world weapon model). The flapping dust cover doesn't bother me as much as the wrongly-aligned sights. 18:29 / 23:00 Sepia tone, aka "Tarkovsky vision." 18:40 Best technique is to use an LR-300 with a SUSAT and fire "short, controlled bursts" (spoken in Michael Biehn voice) at their heads. Leave the rifle on full-auto, but fire 2- to 4-round bursts. Alternatively, you can use an AN-94 with a PSO-1, but use the same technique. The Anomaly mod gives the AN-94 a proper 2-round hyper-burst mode. In 'nilla ShoC, don't bother using it. 19:22 There's a S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-themed L4D2 mod. It replaces Hunters with snorks, Jockeys with fleshpigs, etc., plus it replaces weapons too. 19:36 To the body, yeah, but not to the head. Nailing them in the head is the trick. Use a pistol for maximum sporting challenge. For extra ultimate challenge, try nailing super long-jumping "man-eating" snorks (you usually encounter them in the Red Forest/Radar, but they can sometimes show up elsewhere once you've been in the Zone long enough) in the head with a pistol while they're in the air. Or you can blast them out of the air with 40-mils. Doing it that way is total overkill, but also hilarious. Make a special hard save just for that purpose (your own amusement) since it would be a waste of 40-mils while playing the game normally. 20:23 Mother Brain 21:27 Some mods, including but not limited to Oblivion Lost 2010, give it a fully functional combination sight. 22:11 Since there's no weapon repair in 'nilla ShoC, you can never have too many spares of your fave guns. You can earn an unlimited supply of SG550s (and launchers to go with them) from Lukash and an unlimited supply of Grozas (which have an integral launcher) from Colonel Petrenko, along with armor-piercing ammo (5.56 AP or 9x39 SP-6) and 40-mils in either case. 25:19 Ackchyually, it's a blowout. 31:58 "Clear Sky," not "Clear Skies."
Thank you for your insight haha, I think I managed to nail a snork with Big Ben on my second play though, but they’re still my least favourite enemy haha.
Love the metro 2033 good ending music at 26:24. Fun fact, metro was made by a splinter of devs from GSC. Hopefully Stalker 2 isn't a bust
Oh that’s cool! Here’s to hoping stalker 2 is great
I've been playing PC games since the first Doom in 1994, and the STALKER franchise is STILL my all-time favorite! I can't wait for S2...
It’s gonna be great!
How are you liking it so far?
I've always heard of this game as it's in a similar vein to fallout. Seems like fun, very difficult fun.
It’s a lot of fun but can take a bit to get used to
_Totally_ different to Fallout in many ways. 🤷♀
TBF: For a first timer I think STALKER: Call of Pripyat is much more accessible, not to mention more polished (even unmodded) than Shadow of Chernobyl. CoP is definitely my favourite of the original game trilogy (i.e. Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat).
@@DodgyDaveGTX I thought Clear Sky was the best :)
This have NOTHING like fallout !!!! Fallout is chapagne this game is cider !!
I played trough this game at least 15 times. And every time when i'm going to labs or any kind of underground i literally cant breathe.
The labs and undergrounds are always terrifying, even when you know what's coming. Brilliant design!
Not gonna lie, on surface I was running around d and being silly, underground became a very slow walk and checking every single corner haha
That and the red forest! I'm on blood pressure meds in my 30s. Pretty sure GSC is to blame.
Pro tip for pacifist run:
-drop a save
-charge in
-gun jams and you die (guess they use raspberry jam instead of gun oil)
- reload game and the enemy is now friendly, trade all you want
-as you wave goodbye from safe distance they realize they don't like you and try to attack, but too late 😎
I just got the true ending through my Achievement hunting journey and oh man... YES ! This game is an absolute fucking YES !
YEAHHH!!!!
I gave up literally 5 meters away from the wish granter due to dying from radiation, couldn’t be bothered to do it again and load a save so I stopped playing as I was going to have a heart attack from raging 💀
Oh noooooo, you were right there haha, I hope you give it another try with fresh eyes
Think that’s bad find the secret door for the true ending you gotta kill 30 more monolith after the monolith guarding the wishgranter

Not his fault that the game doesn't tell you that. Which is good tbh no hand holding.
One of my favorites. I periodically play it. Might want to try "Lost Alpha." There is a Stalker 2 coming out but delayed 'cause of the war in Ukraine.

I hope this is the final release date
I prefer GAMMA 😢
Welp it's time for Clear Sky now!
I never originally finished Clear Sky tbf and just moved onto Call of Pripyat, which IMO is the best of the three.
Been playing a lot of GAMMA recently though - that modpack, damn... takes STALKER to a whole next next level 🙂
@@DodgyDaveGTXvanilla Clear Sky is the best STALKER experience, mods and vanilla included
@@DodgyDaveGTX also playing gamma! the only issue is the gun miss placement in npc's hands which annoys tf outta me
@@DodgyDaveGTXCoP is too small and too short. CS is the best in my opinion. CoP is more shooter and less like the other two. Yes, more polished but definitely needs mods like the rest.
@@ZONDER228thats the fault of the mod which added such guns. Gamma is just a lot of mods stitched together and some thrown to the side as optional things to add
I got out of PC gaming just as this was originally released and had always wanted to play it. All these years later all 3 games out on PS5 is a dream come true.
I hope its everything you've ever thought it would be
@@krisisgaming It is. Admittedly I ended up quitting the game for a couple of days because I kept getting killed in the bandit camp in Cordon, but then I stopped playing like the game was Doom and stayed up for almost 2 days playing because I was hooked. Now I’m replaying for the trophies for SoC. Looking forward to playing the rest.
But missing out on gaming fixing mods that have ejection ports, charging handles, and selector switches moved to the correct side.
Just got the collection on ps5 and I’m loving it! It crashes here and there but I’m invested.
Hell yeah! Glad you’re enjoying it
Those are features. Anomalies infecting your device. It's part of the STALKER experience!
Im surprised he doesn't have headlight to see in the dark
I did but didn’t learn got to use it until a couple missions in haha
lol if you saved fox you would have gotten a cash reward
Still alive? That's great!
Still kicking haha
Pro tip. There is a merc suit in the village. And you can bypass bridge going on the right. If you save 20 000 RU before helping Nimble, you can buy unique Groza aka S14 Tunder from Sid with AK ammo. Original was pretty easy actually. Search for stashes and you will be fine.
Thats so cool! Ill make sure to try this out next time
Glad you enjoyed your stay in the zone
Good hunting, Stalker
I’m keen to tackle the rest of the series
Lmao walking into an anomaly just to see what will happen must be a universal experience
I swear i do it in ever STALKER game haha
A cool thing in this game if you don't give fox a medkit he can actually bleed out and you can get his info from his body.
There are so many hidden things and hidden side missions for this game.
That makes sense seeing how he died 2 seconds after he gave me the info anyway haha

Damn right on that, Marked One
Well as a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. regular the interpretation of the lore makes me want to tear my eyes out, but that's about the right experience.

Not gonna lie, it took a bit to get used to, but that second playthrough really put into perspective how the game is supposed to be played haha
Guys how the hell do you take a nap? It doesn't appear to be any kind of command next to beds
You can't on vanilla so I'm told.
Taking naps is a thing ?!?
@@krisisgaming yes if you play stalker shadows of chernobyl and add ZRP mod. ZRP stands for Zone Reclaimation Project. It fixes the bugs in the game which the devs couldnt. And tweaks the game. And in vanilla game only in Call of Pripyat have it

here's a tip, use shotguns for mutants and rifles for humans, you'll do better that way, also if an item has a green mark on it, it has upgrades.

Old wow quests were great, I’ll definitely give this a look once I finish the series

Babushka's day old bread is hard enough to punch nails into wood. Have to soak in vodka to soften it to a manageable chewable substance.

I didn’t use the dynamic lighting here, I actually got flamed for not using it in the comments haha. But I can also say I never say any weird screen flickers during my time either, this could just be that it’s an older game that wasn’t made with widescreen in mind, but the modding community is also massive for SoC, so I’ll see if I can’t find a mod to fix this for you :)

an OG stalker fan out here) love this game! My friend showed me this game almost 5 yrs ago... from that period of time i played every game like 6-7 times with many different challenges + i know russian and ukrainian fluently what raised enjoyability. Man... i miss being dogshit in that game i am telling ya!
btw, a little tip for every monster
*dogs:danger level is low, i want to strangle them with my BARE HANDS most annoying monster because they swarm you and they are common. Especially in some hardcore mods they deal SHIT ton of damage. I HAVE ENAUGH of them bastards, literally kill them with whatever you can and also getting the high ground will do wonders.
*pseudodogs: level is low to mid, dogs on steroids
*pseudodogs(that spawn illusions): danger level is mid, every copy is dealing damage simular to normal one, so kill the main one as soon as possible! every copy has one hp and do not bleed, while actual one is bleeding and has hp of normal pseudodog.
*boars: danger level is low to mid. hate them! they deal a ton of damage when you get hit in their "charging" phase but a high place would work well. just snipe with a long range or kill them with shotgun bruh.
*flesh: danger level is under the bottom!! fr you just cant die to those! they die off quick and also pretty stupid most of the time, slow too.
*bloodsuckers: danger level is mid(unless u see them faster then they can see you, so you can snipe them down while they are not aware)crazy bastards... annoying as hell! most of the time you should be just extra aware of random glitching air running at you, also the sound! the best way to know the bastard is coming is by listening your surroundings.
*snorks: danger level is mid, they attack by jumping right at you. the best way way of dealing with them is by strafing left or right looking straight at them, they will charge into nothin(be sure there is no walls behind you).
*controllers: danger level is mid to high, they are really annoying tbh... the best tip is to lean, shoot, hide, repeat. they can not pull you when you are out of sight, also you can cheese them by running straight into them and killing them close range(they cant pull you)
*pseudogiants: danger level in original games:😊 danger level in mods:💀💀. do not let it get yo ass or else ur fucked, also it stomps so right before the stomp jump to negate the damage(does not work most of the time XD). grenades do literal wonders with this beast! try it.
*poltergeists: danger level is low to mid. they detect you when you walk so staying still will make them do not notice you, but as soon as you will shoot it will detect it. the bigger object thrown into main character, the bigger damage it deal. just kill it with shotgun, or snipe it from distance.
*flame poltergeists: danger level is mid, they detect you no matter what and will just spawn a flame directed at your location. I prefer killing them with shotgun running straight into it cuz the actual thing does not damage you.
*rodents: danger level is under the bottom of the mariana trench, they are THAT fragile, you can kill them by literally throwing a grenade on its head.
*[REDACTED]: danger level is high(but with the [REDACTED] strat it is pice of cake!) [REDACTED] attacks by [REDACTED] and because they simular to [REDACTED] in attack pattern they are EASY to avoid, by doing that they are harmless :) untill u get hit like a truck DX.
*[REDACTED]: danger level is high, [REDACTED] on steroids and cocaine cuz they are literally [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] COMBINED... uh cheese them like [REDACTED]

You did not play on the highest difficulty
no i didnt, i was just playing through the game for the first time
1:08 Something to the effect of "rifleman" or "gunslinger."
2:29 Most mods do away with that "hit probability" malarkey.
5:29 The flesh is a pig spliced with the genes of a fly. That's totally Cronenberg! And their twisted faces remind me of the Toxic Avenger! 🙃
6:01 Pigs. Imagine what the goat version of a fleshpig would look like! 🙃
9:56 Fortunately, even if Seriy dies to Deth, you can still get the necessary info from his PDA.
18:29 / 23:00 Sepia tone, aka "Tarkovsky vision."
18:40 Best technique is to use an LR-300 with a SUSAT and fire "short, controlled bursts" (spoken in Michael Biehn voice) at their heads.
20:23 Mother Brain
21:27 Some mods, including but not limited to Oblivion Lost 2010, give it a fully functional combination sight.
I’ll check out some of the other mods and tips you mentioned, because as far as post apocalyptic games go, this series has a lot going for it, especially with the anamoly mod people keep suggesting
@@krisisgamingWanna try some Zone Sportsmanship Challenges?
@@judsongaiden9878 what is that? That sounds cool, I’m doing another fallout video atm but yeah I’d be keen to check it out
Have you noticed most weapons in this games are mirrored. 😁
@@lordgallo4213Typical fad of the era.
Edit/Note: It only bothers me when it's a side-ejecting bullpup like the Groza or the L85.
How do you fast travel??
You don’t , you walk or run, bring lots of energy drinks
Isn't it Chernobyl, on xbox it is called Chornobyl is this a typo ?
i had some people reach out to me and the title changed recently to reflect the Ukrainian spelling because the company is based in Ukraine
@@krisisgaming I see, thanks.
Did you seriusly play it on easy
Playng on master is more fun becuse everyone has less hp even the enemies
I played on stalker which is the second difficulty, I only had 3 options with the highest being veteran, but I didn’t do that as I had no idea what to expect for my first play though.

I killed that "get out of here stalker" guy then Duty killed me. But why?!! He started first.
The game is a bit silly, but don’t worry, Duty got what they had coming to them when I played Clear Sky
@@krisisgaming Clear Sky was very interesting. But, unfortunately, it has many bugs, many glitches, many crashes... A "Big Potential" and a "Big Waste"... Sorry...
@@toygarfatih5260 that’s ok, everyone has different views, for me, story wise SoC is better, but Clear Sky has more variety
@@krisisgaming Yeah! You'r right sir. "Tecnicaly" CS is better. I played all of them 10 years ago,. I forgot many things. Now, I am playing Anomaly. Ahhh! Pain in the... Whatsoever...

It s not post apocalyptic world thou
What would you classify it as?
@@krisisgamingsome long time Stalker players get touchy about this for some reason. Personally I consider it on par with other post apocalyptic media. But technically there was no apocalypse. This is an isolated event that doesn’t wipe out mankind or anything so it’s not post apocalyptic if we want to get nitpicky about it.
@@krisisgaming Zone is literally an exceptional, closed zone of alienation. Rest of the world is living their sweet lives as it is.
