I am a Socal native. As a teenager they gave out bumper stickers that said "In and Out Burger". We would blank out the letters B and R. Haha, stupid kids! Yet clever.😂 I live in Corona now and there is one only 2 miles away. Im a senior now. I remember when the owner of the company died in plane crash in OC. It was on a Southwest Airline from Fresno to OC. Chick-fil-A has adopted the super clean workplace, excellent employee's, limited menu and a conservative attitude. In N Out still has Bible verses on most paper and cups. I worked for a company that hired the "In N Out" food truck for the employees, all paid for. What a fantastic place to work.
If you want to see the only time cameras were allowed inside the operations (its fantastic). Hewell Houser video done several years before he passed away. A Socal icon of our culture. It was always just him and a cameraman, no script. The show was called "California Gold". You can find it on TH-cam
I remember we had an In N Out on the western edge of Corona back in the 1980s. One of my friends worked there. It was a bit too far for us to travel to from the HS to get lunch and make it back in time, but on a rare occasion the family would pick up burgers to eat. Still have memories of doctored In N Out Burger bumper stickers plastered in lockers (yes we had them back then) in highschool. They were trimmed to read "In N Out Urge" LOL
I did that too with my bumper stickers. Do you remember when Carl's Jr had the "Eat Meat" bumper sticker? We would change it to "Eat Me" Did you go to the In N Out near the Walmart on Ontario Ave or the one on Serfas Club?
@@echang1976 It was the one just on the other side of the 91...remember taking 6th street to it and then going to the otherside of the freeway. So its the Serfas Club one. There was pretty much nothing out there except for the In N Out and a lot of Semi Trucks. Now, not so much... lol
@@LMicheleS Its funny that you mentioned that one, I was parked down the street in front of the dealerships having my lunch there within viewing distance of the In N Out.
@@LMicheleS You are not that old. Maybe just a tad bit older than me. Also, you are having a yard sale tomorrow? Where is it at so maybe I can stop by and check it out.
I grew up down the street from this place i remember when it just used to be in n out burger 🍔 ,birds love us bird store, and a liquor store nothing but dirt lot In the background.. few years passed they built the target office max and all that. Man a lot has changed around that area
I ate there on the way home from Kings hockey games. Then we thought they were building a new one on the other side of the freeway. We unknowingly pulled into In-N-Out University late one night.
Harry Snyder was ironically born the same year as Whataburger founder Harmon Dobson. Richard also tragically died the same way as Dobson: Dobson was killed in a Plane Crash in 1967.
Thanks for coming to Texas! In-N-Out recently opened a restaurant in Webster Texas. It’s just five minutes from my house. I eat there every Friday for lunch. A double double and a strawberry shake. Love it!!
I visited their new Boise Idaho location recently. Tried the Double-Double and it was actually difficult to get my whole mouth around the burger 😅 It was all of course great In-N-Out quality food. I honestly believe the Double-Double is bigger than McDonald's Big Mac.
The location of the first in n out is the location of a rather large multi block complex that houses their entire distribution center, fleet, fuel islands and the In-n-out university. They have expanded further north and east but can only go so far. I emailed them asking to bring one to where i used to live and the CEO herself responded to myemail with a detailed reason why they cannot. Everything is fresh, and comes from that DC in Baldwin Park CA. If it cant be delivered by truck and maintain a shelf life long enough to sell before it goes bad, then its too far to open. Wasnt even mad, i appreciate their commitment to quality which is why such a small localized chain, with a tiny menu, is literally famous worldwide. Getting an actually personalized response, addressing my request with a reason why, was also very nice. I expected an auto/computer reply.
I grew up in Baldwin park and in grade school they would take us for field trips to in n out university we learned everything about in n out and they had us all cut our own fries with the potato press. I remember eating those fries it was so good. I hope they continue doing that with schools. They basically trained us to work their since we were kids 😂
In n out is my only go to fast food I never settle for other BS microwave fast food spots Southern Cali born and raised ive been to countless locations even on trips to AZ, always consistent, clean, and has that old school standard that sets them apart.
I would have challenge you on your history. The second In-N-Out was not Covina, but on San Bernardino Rd. In Baldwin Park. It has since been torn down and a new one built about a quarter of a mile up the street but on the opposite side. I was born and raised in Baldwin Park, born 1943.
Only 2 major things I dislike is no other cheese options besides American, imagine provolone cheese it would taste so good. Other thing is the sauce options being so limited to ketchup and in n out thousand island smh.
In N Out is a shining example of what a fast food place should be. Mid-large sized, slow expansion, fresh ingredients, locally sourced, and localized.

On my mother’s deathbed she asked for In-N-Out. It was the only thing she’d eat. It was her last meal, before she passed.
thanks for sharing that. I'm sorry for your loss.
That’s going to be me too
Your mother was a woman of taste. 😁 May she rest in peace
A good choice
1:33 the sign is unbelievable with prices of things now
Yeah it is

I like how they have a retro look and still looks like a 1940-50s diner and their low prices.
I work at 300 and I’m so happy working at in n out
nice
Lov it here at 128
Thank you for this Eric!.Interesting history of In-N-Out Burger!.😎

Not really 😂 They busted ass to make In N Out what it is today
I should have instead let her slip on oil near the fryer.

I still have a hand full of their bumper stickers.
I get one there every time I go there. I have about 30 of them now.
