The History Of Pup N Taco
มุมมอง 625หลายเดือนก่อน
There was a chain of taco and hot dogs restaurants. Pup N' Taco was the place to go. Who could forget their iconic slushes? They were in business from 1956 until they were bought out by Taco Bell in 1984. 3 of them still were around under the Pop N' Taco chain but they were only in New Mexico. Here is their brief history.

8:50 see top left on the menu there is a third pound burger. A lot of consumers thought that the quarter pounder from McD was more so A&W discontinued it. 1/3 < 1/4 lol
Birmingham Alabama SM was so massive to me. I remember walking the showroom as a kid with my parents and ordering things and then waiting for our purchases to come out on the conveyor belt
Always enjoy a video that makes me stop and go look things up! I knew there was a Crown in the SF Embarcadero Shopping Center for years and it currently says "temporarily closed", which usually means gone! I searched the SF Bay Area and there aren't any around! Even very little info in the state! I enjoyed them! Great for gifts!
I seem to recall the mall’s name being Broadway Plaza in the early 1960s.
Don't forget to do the Crystal Cathedral video 👍📲⛪
Store 938! Whittier and Colima. This video sucks. The background noise is headache inducing.
Is plaza mexico next ?
"If you paid full price, you didn't buy it at Crown Books!"
Never heard of Crown Book Stores,or Dart Drug,and i’m a book fanatic,lol.Interesting History too.Thanks Eric!.😎
Track Auto? Crown Book's automotive counterpart.
Please do Borders Books and Music next!
Anyone know or speculate the future of this mall?
that was my childhood
I miss the aquarium and water fountain
Scumburg, please.
Loved PJ Pizzazz! i coached and took my kids there all the time, it was a 2 story too if i remember right? and I used to work at Mervyns when it was there, we opened it and i had just got out of high school...... its changed a lot since back there.. I lived in Baldwin Park from 66-2020....
Please do Sambo’s, Friendly’s Ice Cream, Foster’s Freeze and Farrell’s Ice cream
When is the Crystal Cathedral video 🤔👍📲⛪
Ive heard of this chain before.Didn’t know they had such a long history.Thank you Eric, for all the work that you do!.😎
Absolutely Delicious. I make a copy at home It’s Fantastic 😊✅
Dean martin love hamburger Hamlet
In 2025 they will relaunch it, suja life will
Thanks for the video. The quad and Whitwood Mall were where my Mom took us to shop for clothes growing up. I remember the Whittier Narrows earthquake happened as my Dad drove me to school when I was a freshman in high school. As you showed that was what destroyed the old quad.
I used to live in Whittier from 1997 to 2005 and use to go there back in the day
I had my first job at The Broadway Dept. Store in 1971. No computers for the Registers. During Christmas, the Mall would have one night for Men Only, to do Christmas Shopping. They even set up a runway with girls from Playboy to model clothes. Lot's of great ideas went into putting this Mall together.
I've been going to the mall since I moved to Orange in 2000. I wish I went inside one more time before they closed. The Marine recruiting office used to be a Carl's Jr which I thought was weird because of odd layout of the restaurant. On a corner of parking lot between Sears and Sears Auto Center you will see a small concrete slab where a drive-by key maker booth used to be. If you walk along the buildings behind the mall you will see some oddly placed windows and sealed off doors of stores that used to be there.
Interesting history of the Whittier Mall. Thanks Eric!.😎
6:48 Dude - Clifton's Cafeteria was at the base of that garage in 87.
I got shot at twice just watching this video!
I worked at Gemco's pharmacy in Houston, Texas around 1985-86. There's now a Fiesta there. It was a great place to work. 4711 airline drive.
Damn, I was almost grew up there from mid 70’s - early 80’s. Poster & Bong Shop / SEGA Center!!!!!!!
Oh man, 5:06, Suncoast…oh the memories!
La mirada is a city full of people who love to smell their own farts and get high off of them
definitely remember Mervyn's and the KB toys (the two stores my family frequently visit at the mall) before the mall was torn down to make way for Bella Terra.
The guy sounds like Elaine's rabbi
Thanks, I think.
Las Vegas Nevada Had 5 Pioneer Chicken Locations One On West Chharleston Blvd Then The Other On East Charleston Blvd Then On N. Eastern Ave At East Bonanza Rd. Then On North Rancho At West Washington Blvd. And Then On East Tropicana Ave At South Mtn Vista Dr.
I live up the street. It’s still standing.
This was a great mall when in its in-door enclosed format.
Sears' there still open? Looks of things not appear still open.
Is the parking free at the Birch aquarium 🤔🅿️🦞🐚
Yes it is.
Another interesting episode. Too bad Mr. Acura (spelling?) passed away. Sad news There is a Juan Pollo in Cathedral city @ 69160 Ramon # 101. A few miles from my house. I have never been, now maybe I will try it out. Hopefully Juan Pollo management will find out your channel is good for their business and give you some benefits🙂 I get to be thumbs up #10 on this one.
Eric, That was great! I can remember seeing Mr. Okura working at the Ontario location when I was a teenager. What a great success story for him and his family. Thank you again for bringing to life another piece of SoCal history. Can't wait to get back to have some more Juan Pollo.
thanks for sharing your memories
Never heard of this chain before.Interesting history!.Thanks Eric!.😎
3:40, Spencer's was one of the coolest stores with all the black light posters in the back.
Love Mod pizza pizza great
I grew up in the 90s going here. I've since moved away but sometimes go back. It's drastically changed since my childhood but I remember that red staircase specifically. It had a waterfall/pond beneath the stairs with coins in it from the people who would frequent the mall. This really brings back some of the greatest memories of my childhood. I've been looking for a picture of this staircase for years! Kaybee Toys with my mom for toys and the latest video games. Suncoast Motion Picture Company with my uncle for movies and posters. The mall trip wouldn't be complete of course, without a trip to Sam Goody!
Metrocenter Cruising was EPIC!....Go Rockets!
For those who wonder if i'm gen x or not seventy nine was a good year
Hello people as a member of gen x Jolt cola Was the best part of my summer. This particular drink is very difficult to find. You can look Online places like ebay amazon and walmart They all say they have it, but they don't. You may get lucky and find it on eBay.But it's very difficult because you don't know what's in it You're just taking a very large guess. Places like Walmart or Amazon say they have it, but they don't. I think that this company should bring back this drink and put it back in the grocery stores where it belongs. Oh, how I miss K mart. There are a lot of things I would like to see. Come back from the good old days, but let's just work with what we have. Everybody should get together and write this company and tell them that they should bring back this drink and put it back on the shelves permanently. If they can't bring this back at least bring back.O k soda
Hires Root Beer Was Seen In The 1987 Movie The Lost Boys Where Actor Bernard Hhuges Drink
