    Super hunt Jim, that was a great haul of clad💲💲, 3 rings, and a stair climb work out. I was tired just watching...lol👍😎

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was happy to locate the great patch, I love it when that happens. 3 rings is always fun but that climb out is brutal. 👍😎

    I would be thinking either blue topaz or sapphire for the stone in the white gold ring. Gorgeous!

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I confirmed that it is a Zircon stone as I found the exact one for sale online, though no definitive answer to what the SR means yet. Thank you! 👍

    Loved it! Early bird gets the worm as my grandpa used to say. Had a great day myself yesterday. Went to a no dig park and apparently no one else does. Tot lot was a gold mine.

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the early bird does get the worm. It was nice to find that sweet little coin patch. Tot lots can be very good! Thank you! 👍

    😮W The initials SR stands for slightly rusted. The factories can get sued for infections on the fingers so they put that as a warning on the ring.

  • @dawnthemetaldetective3083
    @dawnthemetaldetective3083 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I can not believe that none of coins that came out of that little honey hole weren’t silver. Congratulations on the gold ring love the color of the stone.

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      all modern oldest was in the 1980's shows, I was lucky to find that great little honey patch on that bench. I did confirm that stone is natural Zircon.

    Your wife's new ring is a beauty. Very surprised you didn't have a silver dime at 16:40 when the dime flipped onto the quarter it sure sounded like a silver coin out of the two coins.

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking the same, I had to double and triple check. actually the oldest coin was from the 1980's. Wife does like the ring, 😥

    I heard the waves were glowing in the dark the last few nights in Laguna Beach. Those steps have got to be horrible to walk up.

      Red algae create the bioluminescent, beautiful to see at night awful for our and environments health. Stairs were brutal but well worth the fun we had on the beach. Thank you!

    10k st means solid 10 carat gold, and the SR is the makers mark

  • @joesmith-es1zy
    @joesmith-es1zy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Helzberg Jewelry often includes the initials of the jewelry collection it comes from. FD is another such mark which stands for Fascinating Diamond's, so your SR is the line it came from.

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That had to have been my best clad day at that beach since Rosa, All the crusty clad was found in a very small section on that bench at the far south corner. 👍😎

    How do you clean your coins? And does it work for pennies, as well?

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use a rock tumbler, with stainless steel jewelry cleaning media, with water mixed with lime away or clr. Yes it works on pennies but they must be done separately as the silver looking coins will look copper colored due to ionic bleaching. Also once you use the stainless steel cleaning media on pennies it can no longer be used with silver colored coins. So I clean all the quarters, dimes and nickels together. I have a tutorial in my Tutorial playlist on cleaning coins.

    • @funwithjim

    you never gave a close up of the stone, but it looked light blue. it could be an aquamarine

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I forgot to add close ups. I will try to remember and do that. I did some research and confirmed it is a natural zircon. Thank you! 👍😎

  • @kylesmith9804

    Awesome hunt! The 10K ring appears to be a sapphire to me, so maybe SR is Sapphire Ring? Is that too simple?

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not a sapphire, since it is a Helzberg Ring I found it online and confirmed it is natural Zircon. Still not sure what SR means but I noticed it a lot on many of the Helzberg rings.

    I notice that you dig targets twice but you have a lot of experience. I pull a scoop out then recheck the hole before I dump it

    • @funwithjim
      @funwithjim  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I toss the target out, then recover the target. Usually the faster way to recover a target, I also pull a scoop and verify it is out before I shake it or dump it. So everything is based on the current dig conditions and as someone with a lot of experience I do choose the fastest method of recovery as possible. However it doesn't mean it worked out that way, Lol! Thank you! 👍😎
