Memories back then with tears tolling down my cheek and a soft smile on my face thanking God for where I am today. Mushin Idi Oro Ghetto! I used to be part of this lifestyle but pulled out 3 years ago... Speaking from experience, it's not a life to live or a place to be. It's a demon we all want to fight just to get out but a stronger force keep pulling u back then it starts feeling good all over again. Thank God for life.
Ministry of Humanitarian Services?? You are joking right? In a country with ZERO institutional integrity! Dream on…..All you have in Nigeria is KAKISTOCRACY.
It's not only the Mi istry that should be concerned the Local councils are supposed to be more concerned about these girls n boys n find means of sending them back to school. When you open a school, you have closed many prisons. Some NGO's should also come on board to help these youngsters.
I grew up in this area and I know hundreds of kids that we grew up together here that never made it out. They either start selling the stuff or become a total junkie. The government has the ability to bring that place to the ground but they won't because they get some sort of commission. Lives are ruined daily in that area because these kids end up fighting gang wars they are in no way affiliated to.
This is such a heartbreaking to see all this children generation are in a wrong place where they will not be a good citizen in their later adulthood life. In my time living in Nigeria back in 1980s, there were no drugs and kids focused on their education knowing they will achieve successfully and go abroad.
Lateefa it's a good work you're doing. I'm in Ghana. This children need JESUS CHRIST AS THEIR LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR. THEY NEED TO BELONG TO A BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH. More Grace Lateefah. Keep on.
I sincerely appreciate your efforts. I grew up in Mushin, and I know this area very well. It will be my joy if something could be done for them by helping them out of this predicament. I am really interested. Stay blessed.
Hi Lateefah, my name is Joseph Udeh. I live in California USA and I just watched one of your videos about young and addicted kids in a Lagos ghetto. I really commend you. You’re not only very BEAUTIFUL but you’re talented and compassionate. Gif will bless you for me.
QUEEN!! You are handling your business professionally & with grace. I thank you for sharing your content of your country. For awareness of the epidemic the world is struggling with. I admire your passion you have with all your videos, it makes me feel like I'm right there & your historican tour guide!❤👸🏾
I used to be like this back then iñ qgege lagos. I really leave this life, and i know how its like with tears in my eyes watching this. Thank you for this content. No job no opportunity so youth are confuse. So the only place they find solace is to do drugs and tax people on the street to survive. 😢
First time here and I must commend your good work👍👍funny how I grew up around here, finished from Saint John pry School close to Alakara police station yet I've never stepped my foot inside Akala just because of what I've heard about that place…. Whenever I pass through Idioro, seeing these young ones breaks my heart, many times we've heard gunshots and they say it's NDLEA that came to raid the ghetto and these guys will counterattack cos some have guns, omo plenty stories, I just know if govt really wants to bring that place down they know exactly what to do but then this is Nigeria, I just pray they get the necessary help even though some are not willing to receive help
OMG! Lateefah, the Lord is always with you 🙏🏽 You go into some dangerous places, and you always walk out. Thank you for giving them a voice and us a view into their reality. I'm sure many others will join me in continual prayer for you, these children, and the families that are looking for them. 💝💕💖
Well done.. keep up the good work. I see you growing from strength to strength. Find a topic that would allow you to investigate deeper . Can't wait to see that!👏

Well done Latifah. I was quite emotional watching this. Speaking of help, I feel to help them will be from them asking for help and being sober to get out of where they are. These interviewee do not show any remorse emotion that might foster helping them.
Im sincerely not in the place to judge anyone but they are quite happy with their situation and it may pose a threat if you say you want to take them out of there in the name of help. Rendering financial assistance would also make matters worse. The only solution is Empowering them and exposing them to a life better than where they are. Using young individuals who have gotten out of these situation to educate and mentor them right.
It’s brave of you to not be shy and interview them! This is very sad because when I think of Nigeria, I think of bustling markets, and busy people. Drugs have taken over the world, what people who are lonely or impoverished should know is drugs only make things worse long term. Short term is instant “ happiness” but their health will be ruined. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 The USA has a fentanyl epidemic, it is terrible!
Are there believers in the community? Please arise & contend. There are souls to be won to Christ. We have overcome through Christ! To God alone be the glory
I came here to post and hope you'll see it. I'm waiting for your coverage of the protests. I would love to see your perspectives! I pray you are well, Lareefah! 🙏🏽🩷
So happy to see you back with your so real videos.Have you thought about setting up”go fund me”pages to help fund projects for these young people who desperately need a helping hand.Or maybe loading with “NGO”organisations.Keep up the good work.
@@lateefahmayakiKeep the passion going 👂💪 I want to add to this comment, that a go fund is good but a rehabilitation center is the first step. A go fund is more like the money you will give the person to start a better life, however, rehabilitation first, then follow the person up with a skill, the money from the go fund will pay for everything. Putting up the person in an apartment and leaving them with the remaining money or leaving them all alone, is 50/50. Good luck. In due time, I will reach out.

This is the Lagos State Chief Bola Tinubu built-up. With all the wealth of Lagos. We have this type of neighbourhood in the state. We all know that Lagos is over hyped. Security challenges, inequalities of wealth, and mass overpopulation. Sometimes serious needs to be done to address this situation. It so emotional and touching. I didn't know places like this existed in Lagos Great video

It's a pity I'm not sure If there's anything of such ( Rehab centre, humanitarian response centre) in lagos .
There are correctional centre for teenagers in lagos.
