I just got mine yesterday and I think I'm returning it for sure now. I'll wait for the repaint of the classic suit. Your point about the Blue Beetle parts was spot on. The Toddfather maybe is streaching himself too thin for him not to recognize what you did.
@@craxyman9025 I’m sure they are. The body mold is right in front of us. I just wonder how long it will take. Now that we have an Azrael Batman, and a knightfall Catwoman coming next year, I hope we get a classic Batman and this Robin properly painted. But, that could be two years down the road. So, I’ll paint this one now. Then, buy the official one when it comes out. :)
@@dHuntersReviews Oh he came out in Australia at local comic book retailer. I wasn’t trying to make some braggy point (haha), more that I think we are 100% in agreement. You said it better than I ever could
DHunter, I totally agree with you on this. But, the reason that I bought it is because of those sleeves. See, I was researching ideas for an original Tim Drake Macfarlane custom, and the few that were out there required a lot of work, and parts, to get right. Then, I saw this guy. I looked at those sleeves, then the gloves, and then the boots. I was like, THAT’S HIM!!! All I have to do is paint him and get a wired cape. Much easier than I was thinking. I know that they’ll make one eventually. There is a Knightfall Cat Woman on the way. But, I’ll enjoy the custom work. Love your channel.
They could have mitigated the issue with the arms by painting him in the 'The New Batman Adventures' colours with the black sleeves and then flesh tone for the arms. It still wouldn't be that full red suit that people want but it would work better with the sculpt they have. I still ordered the figure despite the problems, I think I'll pair him up with the black/grey 'Hush' Batman and the wave one Nightwing from way back to sort of give myself a less animated looking 'TNBA' style team.
I’m glad to have a representation of this costume even if it’s inaccurate, but there are like 4 other suits I’d have rather gotten than this one, and that’s even if they didn’t screw it up!
For me I don’t mind the sculpted torso as McFarlane does usually add their spin on stuff with texture at times. But it’s the arms more the upper part smooth level arm is all that was needed and I’m sure there’s quite a few they could have used. As you say the booster gold blue beetle 2 pack are basically smooth bodies easily use them

Dude, with McFarlanes ridiculous beliefs about female action figures. I really doubt we will get the rest of the DC rebirth batfamily. I've been damn near holding my breath for a rebirth spoiler, batwoman, and orphan. I mean for God sake we don't even have a contemporary comic wonder woman after 3 years! That's the whole reason spin masters has the kids line because most kids can't drop 20 bucks on a toy. The people that are buying this line are adult collectors. And adult collectors absolutely want the women of DC in figure form. It just really sucks because DC comics has some of the most amazing female characters and knowing we aren't going to see very many is extremely disappointing and almost makes me not want to collect the line... when I first heard Todd's interviews and his thoughts on female figures I seriously considered quitting the line because what's the point if I'm never going to see my favorite characters released. But after a lot of thought I decided I'm going to keep collecting dcm but I'm going to be a lot more choosy about what I buy. I'm hoping that after Todd releases a couple iconic female characters and sees how well they sell, he will open his mind a little. But that will only work if he actually makes the figures look good and after seeing the nycc knight fall cat woman reveal... well I'm not sure he's putting any effort into the gals cuz she is looking janky as hell, I mean what are those body proportions? She's lookin like a sack of potatoes... whatever a lot of the time these things look aufull but then in hand they are completely different. So I guess it's a waiting game now. If anyone actually managed to read all of this I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Would definitely want more (and better) females and civilians type characters. He’s scared to make those. Constantine was a nice surprise. Some Batgirl figures are decent.
