I see you made the cut for Cheltenham Steve. Great show as always. You are always thinking outside the box, covering all the angles. I never even thought of..
Steve, if you believe in nepotism, watch out for what Charlie Mullins rides at the fest, especially in the hcps.l was just walking the beach, and it popped into my head
Mark Mackay gave you a great shout Steve - well deserved. I’ve watched Cheltenham Chat for the last few years & love the honest opinions. Just like your videos Steve. Keep it up mate 👍
Oh wow not been impressed with her this season, would have a fair few in front of her for that race. That said if it came up soft/heavy I'd give her a chance. Good luck mate
Certainly learned something from this video Steve really does strike home to be disciplined.Been betting on Cheltenham Steve since the Dessie gold cup year 1989 and how things have changed.Your analysis on adapting is spot on my two things I have learned over the years is if you price up a race and the horse is shorter i would rather leave it and let it win. Also now i am not frightened to back more than 1 horse in the one race a great example for me is this year's Bartlett have six horses 20/1 and over admittedly low stakes great show.
Cheers mate appreciate that. Dessie, what a legend. Yea the first thing you bring up there is the essence of value. If you consistanly back value in a disciplined manner you will ineveitably show a profit over time. Sounds easy doesn't it!.
I totally agree with you on the discipline point. I'm probably a good example of someone who's maybe not as good a judge as you, I totally missed Ballyburn and Tullyhill for example and I'm sitting with tickets on Mystical Power and Jeriko Du Reponet, but I've never had a losing Cheltenham in 15 years because I've always been happy to just take any type of profit, never been one to chase for the max profit I could have and I have had some awful days in the past but it's always worked itself out over the course of the week. Cheltenham fever can be really difficult to deal with compared to every other week of the year as you say. You see people who never bet the rest of the year getting every winner and start wondering how they're finding them all yet someone who bets all year can't spot what they're spotting.
I like Mystical/Jerico in that order. Soft/Heavy or softer brings Tullyhill more into it I think myself, in that scenario I could see him going from the front and galloping them into submission. Better ground he might get tapped for speed and could see the 1st 2 there. Kinda think slade steel comes 2nd or 3rd in a supreme or 2nd in a ballymore, good horse though. Agree tough call think he cant beat ballyburn but better at that trip.
@@smoking_cheltenham thanks for taking the time to reply much appreciated Can see the ground being good, good to soft what's your take if its that? I'm puttin on tellherthename aswell
@@whoppersupper3970 no worries mate. Yea on that ground I think I'd go Mystical/Jerico. Do think Ballyburn would have won this and reckon Willie might have been playing a bit of chess so a couple of things just to bear in mind. Either Willie didnt trust Mysical/Ile Atlantique to beat Slade Steal at 2 1/2m and/or he thinks he can take care of Slade Steal at 2m/Jerico & Firefox with either Mystical or Tullyhill. Dont know if that helps trying to work it out myself🤣
Alright Steve mate, what you thinking for day 1 tips? Me and the boys are travelling up and would love to know your fancies… especially for the ultima, boodles and National hunt chase!
Yea give me 3 easy ones why dont you🤣. I've already backed the fav, Embassy Gardens, for the NHC. Hcp entries out tomorrow so will be having a look at those this week. Boodles is my least fav hcp, have a poor record in that only backed the winner once although pretty good at picking the 2nd! I do like the Ultima and have a decent record in that but haven't really looked at it yet. I do know Monbeg Genius has a great profile for it but he seems to have had issues this season and Jonjo not been making good noises, said he might go to Kelso instead. Will certainly be putting something up for it though in the next couple of weeks.
😂😂 I know but of a minefield ain’t it! 😅 I was leaning towards corbetts cross in the nhc myself but cheers for the info and I’ll be keeping a eye out for the upload 👍
@@RyanChappell-j3d yea dont let me put you off Corbetts mate. He seems to do plenty wrong but when it all falls right I think he's got a big performance in him, could be here.
Had a couple of quid ew on Fil dor for the Ryanair just looks progressive and can see holes in a few of the runners in that, think will get a run for the money
if shermedey is here it's worth watching, time is my highest priced commodity and i don't give it over to any mug.. if you were a spade i would of said by now.. good insight.
that's a compliment of the highest order from me, like getting a Victorian cross that is..i am banned from them all just for pointing out the maths and how if you play a game with negative expectation you will never profit long term,, stupid people play stupid games and they get stupid prizes.. half of them don't know their ass from their elbow @@smoking_cheltenham
If Ballyburn does go Bingham......can Allagorie win the Mares......??? This is rather critical as potentially a massive return.....🤞🤣🤣🤣 One can but hope......😬😁😄

Would be interesting to see your multies plan since the DRF... Suppose it's slightly dependant on what horses you have covered so far.
@@peterbason2882 yea most of them since DRF have included Ballyburn for the Supreme so might have quite a few partial bets there. As I mentioned did do the mystical and tullyhill supreme/ballyburn dbls not nrnb but at decent odds but the price had gone really on Tullyhill before this video. Also did that Quilixios/sa furuer ew dbls, the latter for grand annual and plate nrnb just to small stakes. Would prefer in grand annual, plate looks choc full of plot jobs. But yea I'll put a few up before Cheltenham, why not and maybe we'll go for a killer 4 or 5 team multi
Smoking Cheltenham strategy and mindset for the Cheltenham festival. Instead of ante post bets. I don’t think the degenerate gambler will be happy they want their fix not some party political broadcast on behalf of the strategy and mindset party. Me personally I liked it. Cheltenham is the theatre of dreams and nightmares. Anything can happen and it normally does. The 3 assets the gambler must have to be successful is discipline patience and timing. 1. Discipline for bankroll control. 2. Patience wait for right bet. 3 timing. Catch the bookies with pants down. Not a simple task but like all serial winners they get cocky and drop their guard. That’s the time to strike. Keep the videos coming 🐎❤️🐎
