- Exploring a natural wild betta habitat that Betta smaragdina inhabits in my area that I breed and re-release the fry to in my old video, this video was a fun video to show you guys their habitat and how they're caught and what other fish and animals live amongst them.
I usually collect and breed these guys to re-release yearly but I've not had the chance to do so in awhile so I'm taking you guys on the entire process in how I privately conserve the species in my area!

Incredible how fast they adapt to the new surroundings and begin to make a nest! Your videos makes me want to go around catching fish like you all day long!! Can you even imagine being the first person to ever keep a betta and one day all of a sudden this ugly little fish is sitting in it's bowl and it's completely gorgeous with insane color? It must've been an amazing and confusing experience. Other than getting bit by a king cobra, leeches and spiders would definitely be my biggest fears doing that.

That’s only a baby spider compare to the huntsman you get in Australia! The leeches would be a massive NOPE for me! 😱
I absolutely love getting to see their natural habitat! All of the different plant, insect, fish, arachnid, frog, shrimp, and crab species are so interesting. I feel like these wetlands are underappreciated for their beauty and biodiversity. Thank you for all your hard work in conservation and raising awareness! Wild bettas are just so beautiful and unique.

I adore wild bettas, especially the copper aliens. They have such distinctive pattern and shape that’s unique and fascinating. I could spend hours just staring at them. I have been eyeing them for a while now, I have both the space, equipment and knowledge to care for one and really hope I can get the chance to own one someday.
when I first started this hobby I was mesmerized by the long-tailed bettas. I now have grown an appreciation for the plakat. I would really love to set up a blackwater tank with a pair of wild bettas someday :) do you ship to Europe perhaps?
hi. Raising wild bettas is more difficult than those from breeding sites. You should learn more about how to raise wild betta fish. Otherwise, you may end up buying several new wild bettas because they are dead.
Since getting my first wild type betta im totally addicted to these guys! Love how reflective their scales are and their range of colors is also something that got me into them!

I have a male pro-democrat🔵/pro-democracy taiwan 🇹🇼paradise fish named (BLUETIGER) he will be red with a female fighter plakat bettafish to make a new generation of paradise fighter fish. The rival of my fish is not another paradise fish or bettafish its the republican🔴 northern {studfish} the naturalists are scared to debate me on who more aggressive over territory the hybrid paradise fish or a pure republican northern studfish
I absolutely love the look of wild bettas especially their beautiful scales and would love to get a wild betta for my 3 ft black water tank! It would be a spectacular centrepiece for my tank. Fingers crossed :)

Straight from the wild, I think that these bettas are stunning.
I like wild betta But I prefer fighting fish for stakes than wild bettas. Because I think it's more beautiful and brutal.
How do you distinguish the male betta from the female betta?
I bought a betta imbellis and it seems like a female to me. But i'm not sure since the fish is young and the shopkeeper told me it was a male.
We who have hybrid bettafish or bettafish period should make a topic on who's fish is more aggressive over territory against the republican northern {studfish}

Beautiful fish! I hope you get a big spawn! I got a pair myself and three days in they accidentally bred- I still have school so it’s been a bit of a hassle but the dad’s been doing a spectacular job

@@Franksbettas Lol, they need to stay away from us for sure. Though I hear that they do some good for some cases of arthritis or similar. They actually use them in the medical field. Amazing.

I think I would end up walking right past those fish without knowing they are there. I would love a wild betta they are so unique in comparison to the regular pet store bettas I see locally. Gorgeous fish! :) I may need to build a bigger fish room

i am new to the hobby and i have quickly fallen in love with bettas, i haven’t owned one just yet because i cannot seem to find the “perfect” one for my tank. i think it would be really cool to be able to keep one of these wild betta. the colors are stunning and it would be such a interesting learning experience, to learn their character and see their beautiful colors. i also think it’s incredible what you do and what you go through to help conserve these bettas. fingers crossed i get to experience keeping one of these gorgeous fish.

It would be great if you could share your tips on how to care for eld bettas: water change frequency, water parameters (tannin/salt/pH/em4/psb), minimum tank size, feeding, treatment for disease, suitable water plants, grooming technics... I would love to have one of your wild bettas! I was just looking at your website last week and they are gorgeous! I’ve had domestic bettas for years and I plan for my next addition to be a wild type from you. I’m interested in owning a wild betta in hopes their health would be better long term compared to domestic bettas as domestics are overbred just for crazy coloring which sadly can hinder their health. I just got a dragon scale without knowing their scales can grow over their eyes causing blindness :( I will adjust his environment and give him the best quality of life if that happens, but it’s sad his breeding causes this issue.

I saw you on reddit quite some times, but never realized you had a youtube channel. Thanks for making your video. I love bettas. They have interesting character and are so graceful. Its great that you are showing how they live in the wild. Never expected that they live in such dense vegetation, which is why I guess it would be okay to keep them in smaller containers? Always thought it was a bit cruel how they are being sold and kept in small bottles or containers.

Wild betta is much stunning and colorfull compared to domestic betta. Mother Nature really knows the best way to make them beautiful.
Another great video of wild Betta habitat. Thank your for risking the snakes and leeches to bring us images of wild Bettas and all the other fauna they share their habitat with. It would be really cool if you could catch some of those minnow-like fishes, try using a net made from mosquito netting - it worked for me in Africa.
