Real people in real costumes looks better. These stormtrooper models were missing a lot of fine details and the weathering looked planned. It was but it also looked like it. The scene was lit to show the trooper and not to serve a mood. That's the problem with some CGI artists. They can't separate the technical from the art. Each part needs to be treated with the highest level of skill. Once these guys solve all their technical issues then you can start comparing it to a live action counterpart.
@@poisoncheeto9956 What? Real people in real costumes look more realistic than fake people in fake costumes?? Damn, I never would've thought... it makes sense to not compare two things unless they are completely identical, right?

@@djangodjango5694 that's exactly my point. Motion blur in games looks different. Different to how our eyes interpret blur, different to how blur from a camera shutter works. That's why 24fps/23.97fps looks fine in a film or TV show but in video games it looks awful. You could implement motion blur in the engine but it's still not going to look real because it's simulated, and our brains can tell the difference. Motion blur is present in this animation. What I'm saying is that it isn't quite there yet. There are layers upon layers of subtlety that contribute to something looking like it isn't animated.
They could do the motion blur but most gamers dont like it so that may be why they didnt. Personally I dislike motion blur a lot but I can see why you may like it.

Since it's a game engine, I suppose motion blur would be especially easy to implement in the animation.
I can just hear the clueless guy yelling, "Sheilaaaaaaaa!" now 🤣
