At this price point there are no challengers. Super sturdy rack. Amazing sounds. Do customize even preset kits. This is the most interesting part of the titan 70, you can add more pads to a monster kit, better than another medium level kits like alesis crimson, alesis command, carlsbro, etc. This is why I consider the titan 70 the perfect kit for me, I can add the exactly number of pads to make the exactly acoustic drum set that I use. Thank you simmons, my dreams were done.
Hello! Loving your content - used a bunch of it to try and make my first foray into e drums (with 25+ years as an acoustic drummer, knowing I didn't want trash, but likely wanted expansion capabilities for more cymbals and DIY drum builds down the line, and semi-decent dual zone mesh pads). Anyways, I ended up with a black friday sale Titan 70 - and wondered if you had any of the issues that I am having - particularly when trying to utilize the expansion ports? Or when trying to integrate a Lemon 3 zone ride? First - the manual I downloaded said exp1 and exp2 ports were assignable as "dual zone" inputs, for dual zone pads and for splitting to two single zone pads from one jack - or - it said you could assign the exp ports to be a "cymbal / crash" (allowing cymbal chokes to be interpreted). However, when trying the expansion ports, with simmons or other brands, they could not be set to "crash" mode - to understand/use chokes. Do you still have your Titan 70, to see if you have this issue? Or if you can figure out using the Lemon ride instead of the stock one, via the stock 3 zone with choke ride cable snake, or via one or two of the exp ports? And a bit deeper - if you succeeded with the lemon, but needed both exp ports to utilize it's 3 zones and choke, what are the capabilities of the simmons ride cymbal jack from the module snake? Are there any other e cymbal types/brands that you know of, that can fully utilize its 3 way plus choke - or maybe can it be split to two crashes with choke (is this a potential cable that can support two crashes somehow, where one's choke sensor could choke either crash, yet both crashes have seperate assignable cymbal sounds? - I believe I saw this is one of your videos for a different module, a happy accident trying cable splits and extra cymbals, apologies if that was someone else)?
I’ve never used the Lemon products. I’m more of a use it as is. However… I haven’t had any issues with it. I admit I have 10 different sets and my main is the SD1250. I haven’t tried all the combinations you’re speaking of.
Bought an alesis nitro mesh during the plandemic to play/record while everything shut down and at that time it was brand new on the scene now ⏩ price has dropped since i initially bought it Now I'm looking at this Titan 70 and to me it just sounds like the quality of sound is a lot better so I'm like maybe I should trade mine take the difference and buy and upgrade a kit 🤷🏾♂️ but with the nitro mesh I will say you can achieve the sounds that you want just by adjusting the pitch of your drums It has been sturdy and it has held up No problems for me whatsoever
Clutch review. I play out a lot, so my Gretsch is always packed up. Really want an electric practice kit so I can play at home quietly. Trying to decide between these two.
The bell (triple zone ride) although minor, takes the 70 to the next level for creativity for me. Add the larger bass drum and dual pads… and it’s a no brainer.
I love my 1250. I have it connected to two DA2108 drum amps with my phone synced to them for my music. Expansion is not available but thats ok because I just use it at home. Other than expansion the 70 doesn't do anything different than the 1250. But I stole it for $849.99 at GC.
Hey man awesome video! Can I ask you a question man? The Simmons looks like a great kit but is it true the rack system is kind of flimsy and Shakey? I heard it uses a lot of plastic my mounts, and that the rack system shook while playing. Is that true and also would you get this over a Alesis Command?? Thank you
It does shake… so does my acoustic. A lot of people that are making statements…. 🤔 let me say this. If you’re super rough it will break. Yes it uses plastic but it’s not as flimsy and some would have you believe. And yes, I’d take the simmons over the Alesis.

Hey Keithron. Fantastic review, looking forward to that sound comparison video you talked about. I have read that the enclosed snare makes a bunch of noise because of the enclosed bottom amplifying the stick slap. Could you record the room noise when you do your sound comparison? Also, could you measure the area that the Tital 70 takes up. I have a sound control riser / booth I am putting together and hope the thing will be large enough. Thanks!
@@KeithronPowell I'm also interested in how much space it takes up once set - up....I'm thinking of buying the Titan 70 today but, there's little room in the bedroom. It looks like it could fit, but I want to be sure....There doesn't seem to be any info on Simmon's website, nor in the manual on full set up dimmensions for width.
I bought the Titan 50 because the budget didn’t allow for the Titan 70. Even though I really liked the 70. This is my first electronic drum kit. I’m used to playing on a Ludwig vista lite set but I don’t gig anymore. I’m totally lost when you start talking about zones.
Hi Keithron, I know you were avoiding the T 50 vs SD1250 review! :-) Do you have a quick take on T 70 ($800) vs SD1250 (on sale $900) for someone with beginner experience and their first e-kit? I like on the T 70 the 3-way ride and the kick pedal. T 70 seems easier to setup. But I like the larger floor toms on the 1250. I guess I'm mostly wondering about the sound kits/ease-of-use. What do you think? New to the channel and digging it!

@@KeithronPowellAwesome! I have been using your videos to decide on a kit. I was about to pull the trigger on a SD1250 when your Titan 70 video dropped. I can’t wait to see your comparison!! Thanks for all your videos.
I have a question for you. I just sold my Titan50/wexpansion with the thought that I deserved to move up to Sd1250. I’m concerned that it’s possible that the 1250 won’t satisfy me as much as the 50’s. I know the size alone is improvement but I’m wondering if the triggers as a good on the 1250(?) the 50 had the best decay sounds the kind that reveal the room well. Will the 1250 do the same? What’s your overall opinion of the sd1250 as it compares to the 50 and the 70? Today .. in the present .. would you choose the 1250 over either of those? I’m ready to purchase And I want this to it for a while. I’d rather have the Roland’s but the price is out of my reach. I joined MF so I can qualify for the 1250 at $810.00 right now. Tell me what you think..
@@KeithronPowell that’s the short answer.. but you didn’t answer the sound sampling question. The decay on the 50 and 70 cymbals and snare have a definite “room” feeling to them. Being that the 1250 is a 2-3 year old design/technology, is it up to par with the 50 and 70 as far as dynamic performance?
@@KeithronPowell one more thing.. the only place to play these are at Guitar Center.. the 1250 on display is shoved up against wall, not hooked up, the heads have been left unattended for so long that they nearly drape down and touch the meddle mounted trigger… so “playing” then becomes difficult unless they let me literally set them up properly. The new 70 on display plays like a dream… that’s what they want to sell.. and since Guitar Center is Musicians Friend and Simmons and both those companies are the same it seems apparent that they want to sell the new 70 more than anything else because there is probably more margin.. so again.. it’s hard to test them if they aren’t prepared to do so
@@paulbfields8284 I think they sound better but I think it’s subjective. That’s why I suggest test them. Because sometimes feel outward sound. Especially since you can EQ and adjust sound decay
