- A couple who found paradise in Costa Rica's rainforest built a sustainable home that blends seamlessly with nature. They prioritized minimal environmental impact and designed and built most of the house themselves. The structure uses local wood and light corrugated roofing, while rainwater collection and off-grid systems minimize their footprint. The open design allows for natural ventilation and beautiful views, and the use of light materials allows one person to build it. Living here means constant connection with nature - the sights, sounds, smells, and even the wildlife. They've learned to co-exist with the animals and find their rainforest home a haven of peace and wonder.
