I'm often almost annoyed when people say "oh! it's propaganda!" or "he's glorifying North Korea!".
First of all: YES, the organized tours of North Korea indeed are packed with propaganda. But seriously, what do people expect in such a country? We all know that this is one of the most repressive dictatorships that has ever existed on this planet.
Secondly, he isn't condoning or glorifying North Korea/their regime in any way. He is merely observing in a quite neutral way. I would do it exactly the same if I had the money to travel there (as well as the skills to put together these videos).
To be honest, I would be stunned as well considering all of the sights he has shown so far in his videos. Some things are indeed impressive. The Pyongyang Metro is probably my favorite: A Korean version of an Eastern European/Soviet "communist" Metro, with beautiful art in many stations.
Yes, a lot of the tour programmes' content obviously IS blatant propaganda, and pretty much everyone knows about it. No need to sensationalize anything. It's nothing new. I think Mr. "Indigo Traveler" was VERY aware of that when he went there. And yes, we all know about torture victims and concentration camps for dissidents and their families.
Although visiting North Korea probably ticks several "boxes of concern", such as "Why would anyone want to visit and throw hard currency/valuta at this regime"?, I think a certain "exchange" via tourism is perhaps necessary.
However, I still believe that there are quite a few ordinary North Koreans, who are (despite the understandable overall reservedness and all-present propaganda) genuinely nice and hospitable people, who would - if they could - perhaps actually spontaneously invite foreign "Western" tourists/visitors into their humble house or apartment and share a small bowl of rice, some homemade Kimchi or pickled cucumbers and a drink with them, if they had both the chance (and permission!) to do so.
    These people aren't evil monsters.
I think that groups of friendly foreign tourists can at least leave a relatively good impression on local people here and there, to make the North Koreans see that "WE" aren't "monsters" either.

What goes on there is much worse, let me explain why the video is positive.
So when you film in North Korea you travel with tour companies which you have to agree to a contract/agreement to travel with, basically if anything negative towards the N.Korean goverment is released then that tour company is no longer eligible to have buisness in N.Korea, so tourists have to make an agreement not to release any footage to the public which hasn't been checked and approved because it could result in the person filming getting banned from traveling with them or even sued for the breach of the contract/agreement.
You can't blame him for this but, this is not what a normal N.Korea is i'm sorry...

Finnish Finn im dont know how NK could be as bad as the media makes it it out to be. Wouldnt you think the people and the military would over throw it? The military is suplosedly treated as bad as the people. I dont want every where in the world to be the same with same culture same form of government. There should be a place where everyone can go that matches there views. Diversity is good it brings about new things and concepts but to make a population diverse is cultural sucide and infact is not diverse it blends all into 1 making it the least diverse. In my opinon.

When the west world falls and China rises thats when both Koreas will reunited, as of now, the Brics vs West war rages on.

Great video! On my two trips to North Korea, in 2008 and 2009, there was zero possibility of saying even a single word to a local North Korean, other than the guides and guards who were with us.

Not sure if you've covered this but I'd love to know how much this trip cost in total & what preparation for a trip like this looks like.

Hey, was wondering if you can post a playlist of your favorite music. Your edits and track selection for these vlogs are awesome.
