It didn’t work out for me unfortunately but I discovered a small black owned business during the pandemic, which then led me to support other small black owned businesses. Some are saying the natural hair community is dead but I still appreciate the work you and other naturals are putting out :)

I know a lot of people aren't a fan of Mielle; however, the Pomegranate & Honey Curl Defining Mousse with Hold and the Mousse Def Foam are my go to mousse--- both give my two strand twist outs so much HOLD --- the style last for 2 weeks.

I've natural going on 12 years. The kinky curly system is the only thing that I still repurchase form back in the day. I have gone through many bottles of UFD, mousse Def, Treluxe untie the knot and various Miche products. I had a hate/hate relationship with most products. I did like the high porosity line. I couldn't stand the "bush" line. I absolutely loved V05 kiwi lime squeeze and strawberries and cream.

I want to experiment and really try to love my hair by doing different styles, but I also want it to grow and all videos seem to be telling me the main/necessary thing to get that goal is leaving my hair alone and putting it in mini twists , mini braids, or under a wig. But I want to be wearing high puffs, twist outs etc. and maybe switching up each week. Do you have thoughts on this or a video addressing this?
Ultimately, you’re going to retain the MOST length through protective styling especially if you have damage-prone, breakage-prone hair. That’s not to say that you can’t have fun with your hair but it does sometimes come at the cost of optimal length retention. In this season of my life, I’m just trying to find a balance and I encourage you to do the same.

Have you done a video on the most repurchased tools? That UNbrush your stylist used for blowing out your hair is the best detangling brush I've used in 10 years. I use it during conditioning. That brush glides right through without pulling my hair out!
I never have to repurchase tools as I am mostly a finger detangle girl, well I used to be. She actually isn't using the UNbrush but they look so similar lol
I just to love me some VO5 conditioner. Every once in awhile I still pick up a bottle of VO5. It still works in a pinch but it's definitely not the same as it was 10+ years ago. It feels watered down. I never really got into Shea Moisture. By the time Shea Moisture came around, I had already figured out that my hair didn't like shea butter, so I wasn't taking any chances. The clear / Krystal Eco Styler along with Long Aid Activator Gel were my go toos for a wash and go. Still use both, especially during the summer months, but not as much as I used to.
cool video to make you think about one's own product usage! i've gone thru various phases over the years and sometimes new products take over the holy grail spot, you know! i definitely went through big Curls Blueberry Bliss phase (but those have definitely be reformulated), a Frizz Whiz Leave In phase and bought lots of Mielle protein mask over the years. Most recently, my repurchases lie mostly with Kinky Tresses and HHC but KT definitely holds the top spot for me these days along with the Ouidad Stronger Hold gel (which i'm on my second jumbo of!).

When did Soultanicals change the formula to the Afrotastic Curl Elastic? I just rushed to my stash (b/c that is BAE). I have three unopened ones from Black Friday 2022 & one opened one left in my stash. They all have Hydrolyzed Jojoba Protein. If they made a permanent formula change I am going to be so disappointed.
I just compared the ingredients in old formula I have vs the current list online & they are definitely different. 🙁 The rice protein is not the only change either. Found them through you. You put me on to Alikay Naturals’ Lemongrass Leave In too. Disappointed two favs are gone.

I just compared the ingredients in old formula I have vs the current list online & they are definitely different. 🙁 The rice protein is not the only change either. Found them through you. You put me on to Alikay Naturals’ Lemongrass Leave In too. Disappointed two favs are gone.

I’m one who don’t think Soultanicals Curl Elastic Conditioner is that great. The Alikay Naturals Lemongrass leave has definitely changed…I have a big container and just poured some oil in it a few days ago and it’s better.
Wish you got to try the OG formula. Ayo BOTCHEEDDDD the formula and I hate that for the community.
