I am really intrigued by the psychology behind branding and merchandising of luxury to lure certain types of customers. It feels good to own name brand or designer vs no name items of equal quality. Love your videos Professor Dean. Stay blessed. 🙏🏽❤😊

    Very interesting conversation, thank you.
Today I joined a luxury club😅 at a local thrift store ( in Ukraine those called Second hand stores) I paid $3 for a Hermes swimsuit. Mostly that price was because of a metallic buckle on the front of a top, which is quite heavy. I spent the whole day trying to find any similar model, but 0.
It says Hermes Paris made in Italy- only one tag on the bottom.
But anyway, I’m extremely happy with my find :)))

It’s the labeling that’s done in Italy that qualifies it as made in Italy but the components can come from anywhere.

I think it's the feeling of wanting to belong. To be able to say: I buy A,B and C. And then the hypnosis of good marketing campaigns, the air around it all. We throw all the facts out of the nearest window and go in eyes widely shut. Just like being in love. Thank God i've only used that drug only but once. My eyes opened with the quicks😂. It's a yes for me, D. Love these chats. I learn new useful things wich is always good. I think looking at your views vs likes is a better indicator for knowing wether to go through or call it quits. Just my thoughts.

They only have to have two items sew or attached in the country to be considered made it that country. The rest can be made in Asia/China. It’s a huge problem in both France and Italy. They are looking a luxury as a whole. Luxury brands are upset by counterfeiting low balling them and taking money from them, but buyers are saying shame and buy counterfeit in it place…..

I honestly don't get it..why do people need to experience "luxury" like this?? And to me luxury os subjective. I'm a simple woman and luxurious to me is walking a white sand beach with no shoes on, a beautiful sunset and a glass of aldi wine, being alive and have all working limbs and brain. The whole world is bamboozled because these people are playing on our psyche. It's male patriarchy that has figured out a way to take our minds off of the true luxury which is Mother Nature and put it on him and his material things. I hate it honestly. I have been in LV, I went to check out the Givenchy Antigona I love the shape of that bag, I was going to purchase that Christian Louboutin alligator bag and that Fendi tote but when I got there, I just COULD NOT bring myself to buy those bags...In my mind, I love how they look and everything but when I saw them in person, I couldn't do it...There isn't a bag on the market worth thousands unless it's made out of pure gold and guess where gold comes from?? Mother Nature for FREE!! Nevermind all the gold that was STOLEN and where from, I won't get into all of that... Pearls are free, leather, silk, cotton, linen all from the earth and FREE and that's my main reason why I refuse to give those men that money...They have taken natural resources that are meant to be free and exploit the WOMEN as well and making trillions!!
Think of Louboutin shoes, all of these luxury shoes are made by men, men who hate women, and were purposely made to hurt. YET, there are women walking around here messing up their feet only to say that they're wearing Louboutins!! I even tried on the shoes, and I could not believe that there are women walking around here, damn near handicapping themselves for those shoes, it's crazy. So not only have they exploited the immigrants, but they've done quite a number on women. I will honestly be glad when all of it is shut down because this goes much deeper for me...Sorry for the long comment but when my eyes opened to the evil of luxury brands, I haven't been the same since...

@DionneDean yes it's true and so is pharmaceuticals. I just don't like the ethics and as a bw I don't feel right making them rich...I have never bought a Tommy hilfiger nothing after he said what he said, not even thrifting. None of them ever wanted us to wear their bs. I'll just be glad when more ppl of color can start making luxury and MAYBE I'll buy depending on price point...But I understand that everything ain't for everyone...just voicing my stance...
