    This has been an issue for at least 6 years for Macy's and other well known department stores. Great job, as always!!❤❤👏🏾👏🏾💃🏾💃🏾

    I hated when they changed Marshall Fields to Macy on State street! My grandmother worked there, and they threw huge Christmas parties for their employees every year. The store let them bring their whole family, it would be all the cousins there! The large Christmas trees, pictures with Santa! Those were the days! Your shirt and lip color look nice!

      It was such an iconic store! I hate that they changed it as well. Not the same feel…

    Great video! I'm a white Mom from Southern IL. I love clothes & makeup, all girly stuff. We have a small Mall here, I have shopped Maurices in this Mall for 30yrs, love their Silver jeans, so approximately 1 hr away there's a big Mall that had a Dillard's that Had Lancome & Mac counters, loved it, but it closed, they still have Macy's there, love it but hear it's closing.. Malls is where me & my now grown kids would spend a Saturday shopping & looking eating, it was so much Fun, me & my daughter loved Express dress clothes! I rarely go to a Mall now, I mainly shop on line at Maurices, for Silver jeans & tops, Express for blazers dressy tops, & Sephora for makeup. I order Miz Mooz boots & sandles on line or from Qvc. My 8yr old Son I shop Walmart , or on line or JCPennys, or old Navy. Its so sad that lot of stores are closing, people losing jobs, & now shopping on line has become so easy, that people don't go out shopping like they used to do. Tfs❤❤

      Store closings are definitely felt more in smaller markets. Hopefully, they’ll repurpose those spaces so that you and your family have somewhere to enjoy🤗

    Artificial Intelligence is slowly but surely changing how consumers shop and also employment prospects in brick and mortar stores. It saddens me to see so many malls and department stores close down. I don’t understand the non competitive aspects either. There’s no real exclusivity like there used to be. I agree with you about Macy’s Backstage and last act. This was very interesting and informative. Love it!❤😊

    • @DionneDean
      @DionneDean  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Dionne, I appreciate the content. I have never been a fan of Macy's when they took over Foley's, and that maybe due to the fact that they don't cater to a specific audience. Lately Macy's clothing have been cheaply made but still wanting quality clothing prices. When they took over Marshall Fields in Chicago, I was done. You are so correct. Their online store socks.

    Here in CT we had GFOX which turned from a very very high end store changed to Macys. My father worked for GFOX for 40 years he was laid off when Macys took over. The stores are garbage the people working there are just have no world class customer service anymore.

    Omg! You bought back soooo many memories in this chat. I agree with you on the whole Burdines vibe it was everything. Macys just didn’t compare. Don’t laugh but my Mom still have her Burdines credit card 😂 and she love the reactions of the cashiers when she gives it to them. 163rd Street shopping center was a big deal do you remember Richard’s? Yes please bring more of this content. Thanks

      I forgot to mention you were right Burdines was known as The Florida Store. I’m a lot older than you so back in my day 163rd street wasn’t enclosed as it is now as a mall and it was called the 163rd street shopping center and there was a Carousel out front and I think the rides were free. Thanks again for the Memories

    Dionne, I'm not surprised. Macy's always was out of the Fashion Fair make up,💄or poorly stocked, not replenished like at the other make up lines for the WW. Even now, they cannot sell a good quality product like they had in the past. It's just not the same. They need to bring back the "Tawny souffle foundation". It used to sell like hotcakes!!

    I don’t know how Macy’s has gotten away with their website as long as they have. I can understand how Amazon is considered a competitor from the perspective of online orders and accessibility of a variety of products, which was part of what Macy’s claim.

I got two pair of gucci loafers and a belt 200.00 each. Recently I got a Valentino Garavani for 900 when bag was across street at saks for 3900. 😮. I will use my macys Amex at Dillard's
