This is great advice and something I’ve been thinking about more and more. Thank you. Tip for a video: the west season is coming up and everyone’s incessantly rants about these B visas. Please make a video about that: how to best apply for a B1B2 as a yachtie
You have done so much to educate future crew members. There are so many channels that talk about only positive and cool things on TH-cam, and nothing about the reality of it all or how to acutally do it. It has been highly educational even for us who will never set a foot on a yacht. Welcome back Matthew!
Thanks for posting. Even without thinking of a yachting career, your "public diary" is way more interesting than most others here on youtube, I hope it turns out well
Today I got a reminder about how I was at the Ft Lauderdale boat show two years ago on my first day work gig. I left my land job and family to be there. The only things I took with me were the knowledge of how to do a wash down and handle lines and a windlass from your videos; and a quote similar to yours in my heart; ‘Don’t despise your small beginnings’. Today I am back home with my family and tomorrow I will be heading to work on a superyacht. I have you to thank! Keep up the good work!
Welcome Back Matthew, Nice to see you again, for me, it doesn't matter what your talking about, it's always interesting and a joy to listen too. Your video quality is great I have no negative comments on it. Your struggle to fine your way forward can easily resonate with any or all of your viewers. It is not always easy find your way when it comes to financial matters, this is always an important factor. I'm confident you will figure it out, and get to your new path in life. You currently have figured out your Personal, now its about the finances. GOOD LUCK I'm rooting for you! 🙂
thank you so much for taking the time again to upload a video. its always nice to hear you talking about life and the advice you give us. I really looking forward to your next video & I think this is the best thing you can do is going back to your roots. just becasue you nailed it so hard! have a nice day and thank you again
Great to see you again. Always enjoyed your videos and your perspective. I wish you the best on your endeavors and I appreciate your pursuit of your passions. “Start with what you have. . . “ is a great quote and a great place to start. Just about every successful creator I have ever watched has given the advice to just begin. To just start. Thank you for the reminder! Best of luck!
Hi Matthew, so delighted to see you on here again. As I was listening to you, I wondered if another great use of your skills might be something along the lines of “Super-yacht Crews Skills for the average boaters”. You have a wealth of knowledge in the cleaning and polishing department, safety, making guests feel welcome, probably ideas on good food to serve on board, meatiness on board, and ways to make a smaller craft feel luxurious for owners and guests. That could include decor, bedding, linens, food and drink, etc. with your charm and honest presentations, you could really make it fun and informative. Let me know if you need help or investors in such an idea! Good luck.
That quote shall stick with me for life. I am kind of in the same "limbo" place as you are (for me its the aviation industry). I don't know what to say really but this video is quite encouraging and I pray for the very best for you.
Thank you Matthew for living your life with what you have, which you have in abundance! You have more than most because you own your own home in Poland 🇵🇱 with the amazing Adriana and your pet bird and fish! I envy people like you that have a huge entrepreneurial spirit and are always planning out what’s going to come next. I stayed in the same field my whole life and I couldn’t wait to no longer have a mortgage payment so that I could live with less money than those with crippling student debt and sky high rents . I look forward to seeing what comes next for you and Adriana.
I love your videos. I personally think you would do great yacht tours. Your perspective on everything from your experience, mixed in with some stories..your channel would blow up. A tour amd a story. That sells. Everyone always wants to know what happens on yachts. How are their kids? What do they eat amd drink? Do guests really get that drunk? What's the largest tip you ever got? Were they famous? Etc. Then a tour where you breakdown the deisgn, the functionality, the routing for crew.
Thank you for all these great ideas. I've already been looking at how I can bring a fresh perspective to yacht tours, and your suggestions are exactly in line with what I was thinking. Time to get myself to some boat shows!
I note there are a few people who have sort of diversified. Take for instance Colin McRae who started as a superyacht engineer then started his own channel parley revival which is now doing well. However he’s been moonlighting on below deck sailing yacht to help pay the bills and create extra interest while he builds his core channel. I also note superyacht loon which now has its own very professional channel and they have recruited Nina as head chef who also has her own channel. Jared of course now has a professional filming outfit. However there are now increasing cross overs between super yachts and social media. Maybe consider trying a below deck experience to boost your profile and earn a few quid ? Whatever you decide good luck !
Have you thought about starting online classes for yacht crewmembers. With your background and experience, I think it would be very beneficial. to new crewmembers and advancing crewmembers.
I recommend the book Key Person of Influence by Daniel Priestley. Im on a similar path to you and I found it very eye opening and might help put into perspective where your headed! Im an Ex yachtie finding my future path too . Good luck and cheers for the great videos!
May not be what you want to do, vut so many yachts are really getting into having a videogrwpher on board. Look at Loon. And I had an interesting interaction with Jared Watney, he's not worth the road salt on your shoes Mat. You are way better than him. But also, Tristan Mortlock, the Superyacht Captain is growing and is supposedly looking for help 2ith videos, management and consulting work...allegedly. Also, Bering yachts is growing and looking for European representation. Nautistyles could help with tbat

Thank you for the suggestion. I started working on a project to this effect a few months ago. Maybe it's time to revive it!

Can you speak any Polish?
😁👌
A little 😅. To jest bardzo trudne!
👍✅tks
You life after Yachting and My life before yachting starts, is the same 😂. Struggling to find role even after 3 months. 🥹
It can be difficult to get started in yachting, but keep going and that first opportunity will soon present itself. Good luck!
Thanks 🙏
