Admittedly, I know basics about cars. What is causing the high-pitched wind-up sound occurring when you accelerate? It sounds almost like an air intake of some sort.
For the first few miles he SHOULD be scared of it….the hottest car I ever had was a 69’ Coronet 4 door with an 833 4 speed, 3.55 8-3/4” sure grip, a 73’ model 400 block with a forged 440HP crank, 68’ 383HP spec “purple” direct connection cam and ~10:1 compression topped with a 750 Holley double pumper, custom curved Mopar dual point distributor, an Edelbrock aluminum dual plane intake I can’t remember the name or specs on….anyways it made 420 hp and just under 500 lb-ft at the wheels. On 10” wide drag radials in the back it took me a good week of taking it easy driving that car on the street to get used to it after I spun it right around in an intersection where I got on it hard leaving the stop sign….one bang shift to second with the tires already spinning on that “unimproved” concrete road was all it took to scare me straight…driving it in the rain required a feather-light touch on the gas too….drag radials are NOT good tires for driving on the street, especially in anything besides 60+ degree, sunny weather. I guess he had the Ram TRX to get used to driving something with all that power but that’s a much heavier truck and has mud terrain radial tires that are meant to give good traction on the street.
