The defenders did a better job imo. Van lunteren had a couple of last second tackles. Van der grat was solid. Spitse was a bruiser in midfield. Janssen did her job. Van de donk was a pitbull chasing balls. Van de sanden also changed the game with her pace.

On which island do you live? Just curious. I can still remember the pictures i saw on television about fans in Indonesia on one island that were cheering in the streets at world cup 2010. They went completely nuts, especially seeing van Bronckhorst walking on the pitch as the captain.
I'll be honest, I started following a few of the Dutch team a few months ago because I thought one or two of them were cute (I doubt I'm the only one). In fairness, I also do like the Dutch style of football. But forget that, the things I admire most about them now is how charismatic and hard working they are. They played out of their skins to win this, and it was not a straightforward game. I'm convinced they can beat the US and they 100% deserve to.
Also that the ref didn't see an obvious Pen in The second half. Hurtig had The ball in the dutch penaltybox, got her foot torn off by The looks of things and the ref still didnt react. After The game, The ref commented saying there wasn't enough of a fall from Hurtig therefore no Pen.. Referee should get a fine or something for not even considering VAR.

I think that a Dutch victory against the U.S this Sunday is very probable. As of right now, it's not expected, but given their younger age, talent, enthusiastic backing from their fellow Dutch & even other Europeans (Making it into an E.U vs. U.S.A match), their strong cooperation, teamful spirit, perseverance & slow decline in U.S domination in women's football, I think that the Dutch are being underestimated & that European women's football teams have a great chance to overtake the U.S in women's football. You can largely thank Donald Trump & the U.S.A's gradual shift towards fascism aided by the Russo-Sino alliance as a result, while the E.U takes the U.S.A's place

Congrats Netherlands from Sweden 🇸🇪. They took over in the last half of second half and the overtime. Unfortunately the referee was absolutely terrible. Why no VAR-check on the situation in the penalty area with Lisa Hurtig? Why blow the whistle on two of Sweden’s corners when there is no foul? Also, several mistakes giving away freekicks that shouldn’t have been freekicks. In the end, Netherlands played better, but I would really like to know how the game would have ended if it had been a decent referee. Hope Netherlands beats USA in the final!
The referee blew early because those first corners became rugby matches due to the crowding before the goal. In the end it was very clear that the Swedes would not had to have resorted to creating chaos and crowding before the goal because they have enough striking power, also in set pieces, to be a threat. I've seen that situation with Hurtig in replay. I think a VAR check would only have confirmed the referees decision because I believe it shows a very well executed tackle on the ball. I believe you are right in that some of our freekicks were unjustly awarded, but ultimately those haven't made the difference. I think the teams were very well matched. We got lucky at times and without that bit of luck it might have gone to your side, but I don't think it was bad refereeing that made you lose out.

I remember the stats shown on television was 9 penalties in Hollands favour but only one in Swedens favour. And Your goal was really beautiful and I do not really mind that Holland got to Your first WC final. Main thing is that we at last manage to beat Germany and made them stay out of the next olympics where we will see You next year :-)

I grew up watching and playing lots of fútbol in Argentina and I have to admit that this World Cup has been super entertaining. As much as any male tournament. Hope Argentina keeps developing female futbol. I’ll watch and support them every time from now on
Dutch GK was pretty shaky early on. Punching the ball rather than catching. But she gained confidence as the match went on. Chile and Argentina had two good GKs, but yeah overall the quality of the keepers lags behind int he women's game.

I think that a Dutch victory against the U.S this Sunday is very probable. As of right now, it's not expected, but given their younger age, talent, enthusiastic backing from their fellow Dutch & even other Europeans (Making it into an E.U vs. U.S.A match), their strong cooperation, teamful spirit, perseverance & slow decline in U.S domination in women's football, I think that the Dutch are being underestimated & that European women's football teams have a great chance to overtake the U.S in women's football. You can largely thank Donald Trump & the U.S.A's gradual shift towards fascism aided by the Russo-Sino alliance as a result, while the E.U takes the U.S.A's place

@SJOOFTV VAR failed this match, there should have been a penalty for Sweden in 2nd half.
But the worst performance by a referee in this tournament so far. Also, VAR should be used consistently and not half of the time.

@@ahimmler2317 Dutch have a physicality that can unnerve the US. They don't like being pushed around. Plus the Dutch wing backs will need to get fwd and provide crosses to the Dutch height in the box. They will have to keep that back line under fire bc the US keeper is avg.

They took over in the last half of second half and the overtime. Unfortunately the referee was absolutely terrible. Why no VAR-check on the situation in the penalty area with Lisa Hurtig? Why blow the whistle on two of Sweden’s corners when there is no foul? Also, several mistakes giving away freekicks that shouldn’t have been freekicks.
In the end, Netherlands played better, but I would really like to know how the game would have ended if it had been a decent referee.

The referee blew early because those first corners became rugby matches due to the crowding before the goal. In the end it was very clear that the Swedes would not had to have resorted to creating chaos and crowding before the goal because they have enough striking power, also in set pieces, to be a threat. I've seen that situation with Hurtig in replay. I think a VAR check would only have confirmed the referees decision because I believe it shows a very well executed tackle on the ball. I believe you are right in that some of our freekicks were unjustly awarded, but ultimately those haven't made the difference.
I think the teams were very well matched. We got lucky at times and without that bit of luck it might have gone to your side, but I don't think it was bad refereeing that made you lose out.

Yes, and especially so when Sweden had chances in front of the dutch goal. I remember the stats shown on television was 9 penalties in Hollands favour but only one in Swedens favour. If You consider that it was actually the dutch girls that defended themselves with almost any means in the first half these stats are unexplainable in any other way then that the referee was clearly favouring Holland . It seemed she tried to take the pressure off Holland as Sweden totally dominated the game in the first half. She even intervened ta couple fo times to stop things from happening in front of the dutch goal although no player had committed a foul.
Then also according to the rules that was a penalty because the dutch player that brought Hurtig down in the penalty area when Hurtig had a chance to score NEVER hit the ball ( according to several replays on swedish television and as noted by their swedish football experts). Essentially Holland was protected during the first half by the referee.
In the second half when Swedens pressure had diminished and Holland had improved itś game then the referee began to decide according to the rules, but in the first half she was deciding in Your favour many times, often in critical situations.
Actually I am not surprised. The international championships are loaded with political motivations ...
Having said this I think Your goalkeeper is amazing !! And Your goal was really beautiful and I do not really mind that Holland got to Your first WC final. Main thing is that we at last manage to beat Germany and made them stay out of the next olympics where we will see You next year :-)

Not the first, but both goalkeepers were really good!!
Dutch GK was pretty shaky early on. Punching the ball rather than catching. But she gained confidence as the match went on. Chile and Argentina had two good GKs, but yeah overall the quality of the keepers lags behind int he women's game.
