I remember when Erika acted like she was hurt when she wasn't. I remember thinking "Wow! That is the dirtiest play I have ever seen!" I couldn't believe they would stoop so low. It blew my mind.

I watched this game again and again and I still can't freakin' understand why the ref gave a red card
I’m with you here, but logically, if the referee decides it was a foul the rules then demanded a red card for stopping a chance to score. Judgment was poor though, clearly no foul.
@@chrishimmelmann Always wondered about the notion that FIFA pushes hard for Brazil. After this I stopped wondering.
The red card was correct. Marta was the last woman in a clear chance of goal, the centerback went for her body instead of the ball. The only thing incorrect was the return of the penalty, it was weird, the yellow card too.

This was one of the most painful defeats of the Brazilian Women's National Team I've ever seen! The classification was so close, in a game that we didn't play so well, against a better structured team in the field. In addition, it was a terrible mistake to have Daiane take the penalty, after she had scored an own goal in regular time! A feather... 😢

Would Brazil knock out the USA team like they did in the semi-finals at the 2007 World Cup? Two gifted teams on a collision course earlier in the tournament than most had expected. The USA women's team with Hope Solo, Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd finished second to Sweden in their group. While Brazil with Marta, Cristiane and Formiga dominated their group undefeated with combined scores of 7-0. Germany was a magnificent host in 2011. Thank you FIFA for sharing this historical match.

Ref made a huge mistake on Brazil penalty on 67th minute. The goalkeeper just moved on the line and this is pretty correct according to FIFA guidelines. Why on earth he ordered to be retaken?!
