We live in East Tennessee and Ingles is my go to store. Sure, their regular prices can be a bit higher (compared to Walmart), but they have great sales every week, and that's the way I shop. And as you saw, their selection is great and yeah it's a nicer shopping experience compared to Walmart. And let's face it, sometimes I pay the higher price just to avoid going to Walmart. Ingles was greatly affected by Hurricane Helene as their distribution center is in Black Mountain, NC and was flooded. But it seems they are back to their regular schedule and are fully stocked again. Thankful to have them in our town.

I’m with you….visiting grocery stores! That was a cool store! It’s really fun to visit grocery stores in other countries. Luckily we can drive a couple hours to Chicago and find a lot of good food.
When I tell you I felt this on a deep level… I always say the absolute highlight of my trip to Raleigh, NC was going to Wegman’s…. AND I TRAVELED TO RALEIGH TO MEET MY BEST FRIEND’S NEW BABY.
This video was GREAT! I watch Falon go there all the time too. We live in Michigan and don't have one in our state either (obviously, lol). Thanks for showing us around Jen!
Ingles is an East Tennessee, Western NC, AL & I forgot where else. It’s regional. I’m in West TN & we don’t have it, but I went when I was in NC last summer. Loved it.
I live in Greenville SC and we have Ingles and Fresh market as well as others. Fresh Market is an upscale great grocery store that you should go to if you get another chance. Ingles has a great pimento cheese that is in the regular cheese section. They typically have two cheese sections one more upscale and one everyday. The pimento cheese is in the everyday cheese section. County ham needs very little cooking. A bit of oil and turn over a couple of times and it’s done. Quaker is the south’s basic grits. House Autry is primarily a breading company. Fish breading. Etc.
Jenn…if you’re ever at a hospital near Midlothian, VA we literally have a grocery store on every corner! There’s a Kroger, Publix, Aldi, Lidl, Wegmans, Fresh Market, Costco, Sam’s, Walmart, and Target all within a 5 mile radius from my house 😂 Then go 10 miles to Whole Foods and Tom Leonard’s…the bougie part of town…so come visit and you’ll be in grocery Heaven!😇 Happy December🎄
Ingles is a staple in my area (western NC). Our county with a population around 100,000 around 50,000 has 10 or more Ingles stores and they're building another one! We also have Harris Teeter, Aldi, Walmart, Fresh Market, Food Lion ,and Sav A Lot. It's crazy!
We have an Ingles nearby. They are not the cheapest place to get most staples but they have good sales, especially on dairy items, and you can't beat the selection. We also have a Mayfield's Dairy with a visitor's center. Mayfield products can be pricey, but Piggly Wiggly often has Mayfield ice cream on sale (Piggly Wiggly is 5 minutes away and Ingles is a 20 minute drive). We are about an hour from Fresh Market but I always try to go during the Christmas season as they often have some Christmas treats I can't find elsewhere.
I love checking out grocery stores too. Stuck in a smallish town with Wally World and an expensive local store. Love to go Aldi and HyVee which are three hours away! That looks like a fun store. It sucks to be traveling as hard to buy anything.
I love to visit other grocery stores too! When we were in Florida I was very excited to go to a Publix lol! I'm from suburban Kansas City so i'm very familiar with Hy-vee where you shop at a lot.
Ingles is the best! We have one on the way home from church and stop often. Grits, will need lots of butter and salt but they’re my fave! Laura Lynn is the Ingles store brand. Country ham, sauce and eat on a biscuit, and plan to swell 😂 it’s so salty but good!
Laura Lynn is the Ingles store brand. The fat bat and saltport is good to put in your greens such as turnips and collards. The ingalls chain also cuts their own meat in the store. I live within 20 mi of an Ingles and while not the cheapest I like fresh cut meat. You can also buy subs at the deli counter
I love watching grocery hauls from stores we don’t have like Kroger, Publix, and Costco. We have Wegmans, Giant Eagle, Tops, Aldi, and Sam’s Club. We have a Trader Joe’s about an hour away that we go to a few times a year and we visited a Sharp Shopper about an hour away after seeing it on Jamerills channel. So, yes new grocery stores are my adventure too!
Hi Jen, I live in SEvMI, and we do not have an Ingles in our state. We have a Meijer Grocery Store and Ingles reminds of Meijer. Have a great weekend.❤️
No Ingles where I live. Kinda sad after seeing your video! 😂 I do like to go to Fresh Market when I go down state. I live in Northern MI where we have Meijer. I've bought pimento cheese there. My mom used to make it. I wish I had her recipe!
I live in the Midwest and we have similar items to the ingle’s at my grocery stores. I think it’s related to the size of town, not a region of the country.
I so enjoyed this video. I live in SE Tennessee near the GA line so I’m about 20 minutes from an Ingles. I’m also 30 minutes from the original Mayfield plant. Our kids actually go there for field trips. The yellow jugs help keep the milk fresh and tasting better, if I’m remembering correctly. When it was still owned by the Mayfield family, it was the only dairy products people would eat in the area. Now Blue Bell is very popular. We use salt pork for cooking green beans and pinto beans Also, Dukes always but the BBQ sauces are fairly new. 😊
I live in Kentucky and we don't have Ingles here either. I live in a smaller town but just 20 minutes away from Lexington which is much bigger. But, I'm not sure we have any Ingles in Kentucky unless Louisville has one.
J-Ingle all the way! Whooo! What a great thing to wake up to for Vlogmas! Thanks for showing us around. You know you’re an Adult™️ when you find out you love exploring new markets and seeing their wares. 😂

Just FYI-the ingles warehouse suffered tremendous damage from hurricane Helene as did so much of western North Carolina. I am not sure which store you visited, but it was good to see that the shelves were nicely stocked. Paula Deen has a good pimento cheese recipe. And you did a good job picking grits. House Autry is a reputable brand. I like stone ground grits the best.
Florida here ;) by me we got Publix. Aldi. And like Walmart. We used to have Winn Dixie but Aldi bought them over I went to ingles many years ago when I went to visit my best friend in South Carolina and I want to say it was like a Winn Dixie of what we had here
@@donnastratton8397 you’ll love it :) I love Publix. Publix subs and the chicken tenders are so good. But the quality of meats are good and love the BOGO’s every week. Hi Jen, Ingles looked like my Marino's or Jewel store. I can get many of the items you highlighted in the video. I am also lucky to have a Fresh Market near me, but you need to watch prices at that store. We also have a local grocery store named Happy Foods that carries many of the items you showed in the video. Whenever I have to pick up my medicine, I make a stop next door at Shop and Save which has great items but again a bit higher than Marino's or Jewel. I've seen pimento cheese at Aldi's regularly and just my regular grocery store in the deli section where they have the cheese. My aunt made pimento cheese from scratch for special occasions, if I find her recipe I let you know. Have a Great Day and enjoy😊❤!

Ingles are funny because they have 2 types of stores - super fancy or super run down, nothing in between 😅 glad you found a nice one! Also I 100% wander around novel grocery stores when I travel also, it’s so fun to see what they have
Milk cartons are yellow to block out the light which can age your milk too fast. Just a fun fact. 😉 Ingalls reminds me of my grocery store, Publix- where shopping is a pleasure. 🤣
That looks wonderful my dream come true. I love shopping in different grocery stores. I love grocery shopping. I cook and bake a lot. I live in semi rural Pennsylvania and I really only have Walmart giants and local grocery stores. I would love to go to Ingles Hy-Vee Winco, etc. I’ve been to Publix in Florida and loved it, I also go to Trader Joe’s. It’s about 45 minutes away. I’ve never had pimento cheese.
Moss Family Kitchen YT channel from Georgia often makes the country ham. She just cooks it in a frying pan I think. If you have a specialty butcher shop in your town it probably has the fat back and salt pork.
The Midwest is a food desert. I’m a CA native living in ND. There are literally no grocery stores (besides Walmart and Target) beside 13 Hugo’s marketplaces and an Aldi. TG for Aldi. We have ZERO selection!!!! I miss variety and selection in grocery shopping. Luckily my mom sends me care packages of the things I can’t get here. It’s a life saver! Glad you enjoyed your trip to Ingles. Jealous!!!
I’ve seen Ingles online, but don’t know of any near me and I live n the South. It looks great! There is a Fresh Market about an hour away from me and I like going there for the variety. I also have a couple good pimiento cheese recipes I’ll send, if I can find them. 😄 I haven’t made it n awhile.
Country ham is terrible. You have to wash it to remove the salt. It's sliced really thin because it's tough like shoe leather. I live in VA and have an Ingles about 20 minutes from me. I've never gone there but I will absolutely make it a point to get there the next time I need unique ingredients like Creme Fraise. Great video. I really enjoyed it.
I have a Fresh Market in my town. It's upscale and expensive. There meats are butcher quality, though. You have to get it from behind the counter, and it's wrapped in brown paper. It's nice if you have a special dinner you want to make. They have a bulk section of nuts and candies, which is nice. I don't shop there regularly because they are pricey.
If you want a grocery store experience - you have to come to the northeast and hit a Wegmans. It’s definitely an entertaining grocery store. Not cheap at all, but entertaining.
I am right there with you Jen. Put me in the grocery store any day. I accompanied my husband on a work trip in NY and traveling to NJ to go to Uncle Giuseppe’s was a MUST. It was a dreammmm!! They had a whole wall dedicated to olives and I met so many people willing to share their favorites after finding out it was my first visit. I found out there was a King Arthur pop up shop in neighboring VA (Im in MD) and I surely made a day trip out of it to visit it. I also had toured New England for our honeymoon and stopped in Vermont to visit the flagship King Arthur lol. I literally plan vacations within vacations and they almost always include a visit to a market or grocery store of some sort. There’s always something new to discover. My only regret was not getting inside the Costco while in Hawaii..😭. I won’t make that mistake twice tho 😂.
House of Autry has good coating for fish, chicken, hushpuppy, and etc. You can probably order their mixes off their website. We always gift my brother-in-law and sister-in-law the hushpuppy mix and Milo's sweet tea when they visit. They live in South Dakota.
Hi Jen. I live in Northern Maine and the only grocery stores we have, besides Walmart, are IGA, Hannaford, and Save-a-Lot. I have never been inside an Ingles, Trader Joe's, Aldi, HyVee, or Costco. It's really sad. I have never had pimento cheese, so I can't help you there.
I think I’ve spent every “girls” night of my life at the supermarket. My husband thinks something is wrong with me because I have this slight addiction to food. I don’t eat a lot, but I love looking at new products, all the variations of things that different stores carry, etc. I feel most at home there and I’m happy. Lord, maybe there is something wrong with me, lol. But, I’ll continue doing it. Btw, I live in New York and it’s still hard to find certain things. Sometimes, I’m forced to go to a “specialty” store for like, say, Asian products - which is difficult because the workers don’t speak English, and I can’t ask for what I’m looking for. It becomes a crazy game of charades and I just can’t deal with that unless I’m desperate. ( then I will). ❤ Thanks for the most relaxing video for me Jen.😊
Do you have an Ingles near you? Do you have a recipe for pimento cheese? These are my 2 big questions of the day 😂

I love Ingles, but they aren’t in my eastern part of NC. Laura Lynn is the Ingles store brand.
Omg I thought Whippets were American lol we have them in Quebec (french province of Canada). And btw great pronunciation of Bonne maman 👌
Menard's and HEB are on my wish list time visit. And bucees
Oh I love menards!!
That is so helpful, thank you!
Jealous!!!
amazing store🌷
Hy-Vee in midwest carries Mallomars by Nabisco that are the same as the Whippet cookies you found at Ingles.
If you're ever on the East Coast, you MUST go to a Wegman's! And vlog it 😉
I've heard so much about them, I'll have to!
Next time you are in Texas, go to an HEB grocery store. Fabulous!
You need to go to a Woodmans. Madison WI, Chicago suburbs
House of Autry has good coating for fish, chicken, hushpuppy, and etc. You can probably order their mixes off their website. We always gift my brother-in-law and sister-in-law the hushpuppy mix and Milo's sweet tea when they visit. They live in South Dakota.
We do have Ingles in my town but it is usually more expensive than others.
I’m in NKY, we’re getting Publix! I love Moss Family! I’ve looked everywhere for fatback!
You could mail it to urself- u can ask the manager at ur store to bring those items in as well, if the distributor carries them.
I do have an Ingles near me, but it's out of the way, so I normally just go to my local Kroger store or Aldi.
Laura Lynn is exclusive to Ingles, was Bob Ingles daughter I believe
Ask Fallon Moss about the country ham she uses it a lot 👍
I wholeheartedly agree-Paula Deen pimiento cheese. 😊
Country ham is SO salty!!! When I was a kid I loved country ham as an adult. I tried it for the first time and immediately regretted it. 😂
We have Ingles in Alabama.
I am 33, hate to cook but love to buy all the new things! My husband thinks I’m crazy when I want to visit new grocery stores.
You’re not alone in that! I’m with you 😂
Laura Lynn is the store brand.
We gave Wegman’s and sprouts.
