Don't change your camera view Dave, there are so many You Tubers who spend 90% of the video peering into the camera. One bloke walked The South Downs Way, a beautiful scenic footpath and spent most of the time yakking at the camera, I hardly saw the countryside !!
Hi and a great big thumbs up for that ride. Please don’t wait 40 yrs and when you decide to go again please take us two with you. As for the camera we are sure you are a very handsome man…. BUT…. The view we have been watching for a very long time is just perfect. The only thing we ask is if possible to add in time of year as we sit trying to guess by surrounding nature. Retirement must be at your door by now and can’t wait for some camping trips. Thanks Dave. Ride safe.
Hi mate, good idea to give time of year, I have started doing that in the latest video I filmed. The camera is staying where it is, my face was made for radio lol Stay safe, Dave
Great ride, thank you. I did my RAC/ACU 10 week training course on my Francis Barnett Kestrel 66, 125cc, back in the late sixties ! I loved every minute of it. A month later I passed my relatively easy test. Those volunteer RAC/ACU instructors were brilliant. It took place in Lincoln. We even had 2 stroke engine workshops during the course. Thanks for the memory. I've still got an FB Kestrel, and I mainly ride my RE Classic 350 red and chrome (Ruby). Thanks so much for your channel, always very enjoyable with some beautiful scenery. 👍
Another excellent video Dave, cheers. Uncanny route though. I'm doing that area on Sunday and staying overnight in Arnside. Stick with your normal camera view please. Can't be long for retirement. Enjoy. Thoroughly recommended. Si thi.
Hi Dave. Superb thanks. From 'tarn went via holmfirth, saddleworth, hebden bridge, widdop reservoir, forest of trawden, forest of bowland. No big/busy roads. Hardly any traffic. Recognised your wild garlic, river and ruins next to the nice old bridge. Thoroughly recommend the whole route. Return via coniston, Kendal, sedburgh, hawes, Ripon, knaresborough and wetherby. All roads you and the classic 350 would love. See you around. Thanks for your commitment to your videos. Tom
What an amazing ride Dave! I will never stop marvelling at the abundance of wonderful roads you have to explore in your part of the country. I really enjoyed joining you on this ride and look forward to the next one. All the best, Roy.
I love that area. Glad to see the cafe at Slaidburn is open. I was up there a couple of weeks ago and it was closed. I thought it had gone the way of my local pubs so not at all chuffed but cheered up no end now 🙂
Hi Dave, yes it's a great ride around there, I took my daughter out there last summer, we called in at Inch perfect trials, and Mr's Puddleducks tea rooms, and Whitewell, we had an excellent day out! Cheers Mel 🍻 PS i think your camera is fine where it is ! 👌👍
Thanks Dave, a great road, I don't understand why anybody would want to rush along it. I went through there for the first time last November on my way back from Cornwall. It was cold but sunny and very enjoyable. Put the camera on a 360 mount then you can turn it round when you want to frighten us 😊
Good morning Dave, another cracking ride with Betsy through the scenic English countryside, what an amazing day for it as well.. I prefer your current camera position (pinion cam) to enjoy the scenery which enhances the whole experience mate.. like you, I have ridden light because of extreme summer heat of 40c ++ way back in the early 70s.. these days I head to the high country which is several degrees cooler & is close by for rides in the summer months & of course nowadays always wear protective gear.. love the fact you always ride to the prevailing conditions & keep it safe.. cheers mate.. Phil from Oz 🇦🇺
You are so lucky to have all of that on your doorstep Dave. I'm very jealous. Great video as always. Camera wise - I have to say I'm not a fan of the camera pointing back towards the face. I watch bike videos for the view and to feel like I'm riding with you. Seems a bit pointless seeing someone's helmet (so to speak) every now and then. Plus I always think that it must be distracting for the vlogger, as they must be tempted to look into the camera far too often, rather than keeping their eyes on the road.
The magical Trough of Bowland spent many a day riding so many different roads. Unfortunately over the years like so many roads in Lancashire the Council have run out of tarmac and these marvellous roads are not what they were.
The camera is perfect as it is, as for the views …… Wow ! As for riding in the heat, a game changing move was when I invested in a Klim mesh jacket. I always thought we never had enough days to warrant buying one, how wrong I was, on top of the great heat reduction was the comfort of the stretchy Cordova fabric. To top it all is the abrasion resistance if you are unfortunate to have a spill. I now only wear my Halvarsen jacket on winter rides, for spring and autumn I layer under the mesh jacket and have Scott waterproofs in the rain. Keep up these great relaxing rides Dave 😊
Hi Peter, the things we did when we were younger! I ride in my leathers and find them to breath really well. Ive never tried the Klim mesh, I will look out for them at the bike shop. . Ride safe, Dave
That's a stunning bit of road along the stream before you head up to where the tower is, I have been to the tower but never down where you were, I must have a trip out, another enjoyable video that, all the best.
camera view is fine this way, we could see the road and the cockpit of the motorbike, also the sound is astonishing, really consider to take one sooner or later. Ad yes, fot your 106, but hope you could ride that road again before 40 years from now. :) This is anyway the right spirit and mood, to drive in such places and with that motorbike, I feel what you feel, enjoying every single meter of the journey, thanks a lot!
Another cracking ride Dave, I’d forgotten just how nice it is around there, must go back again myself, second camera as you said showing a different view of where you are riding, is far more interesting than looking at a helmet 😂 all the best buddy 👍
There are three possible routes that cover Bowland, a good starting point is the Spread Eagle at Sawley and you can make a circuit. There are good cafes in Wray, Dunsop Bridge, and at Devil's Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale. A big biker meeting point. Enjoy..
Hi great ride that ,I have done it 3 times in last 2 years like you I love it ,down side for me I have to do 100+ miles of motorway just to get to this area.puddle ducks cafe at dunsop bridge is a nice stop.
It's funny but it's many year since I've done the "trough"came from Cumbria side 3weeks ago...stopped at Clitheroe for a pensioners cafe soup n chips....then did back by gated road from Ingleton to dent..and home superb run cracking vid sir
Never knew of such a route so thanks I think I’ll be heading up there some dry warm day (hopefully) and the camera position is fine though I’m sure your mug is’nt as you say 🤟 another great ride video Thankyou
Dave, this was a lovely ride today. What is the name or number of the road that follows that river? What town did you start in and where did you end? We would love to do this when we come over in September.
Hi, it was a brilliant ride. Check out the community page in the next few days, I will put a Google MYMaps up with the route on. Where will you be coming from? Ride safe, Dave
Did you keep the DNA air filter on Betsy Dave? It's difficult to tell if you still have it on from the videos. Did/do you find any difference to how it rides compared to Ivy with it on?
Hi, I took the DNA filter off and reverted to stock. I honestly cant find any difference in power, it was a bit noisy for me, now its back to stock it sound much better, for me anyway. Ride safe, Dave
@@thatblokeonamotorbike Thanks Dave. I bit the Bullet (pardon the pun) and ordered one anyway and fitted it to my Walter at lunchtime today. Obviously it started raining the second I fitted it and hasn't't stopped yet, so I don't know how it sounds on mine 🤣
Lovely? Lancashire? That's bordering on heresy, Dave lad! You'll be having your Yorkie passport revoked if you carry on talking like that! 🤣 Leave the camera view the way it is, please. You take us to some beautiful places and it's like riding pillion; I make a habit of checking the mirror, exactly the same as if I'm actually riding - and yours is about the only channel that has that. The cameras that look at the rider are ok, but only as a brief 'edit-in' if there's something to show.

Best motorcycle related videos on TH-cam!
Thanks
Hi Bob, wow that is a really nice comment. I'm so glad you enjoy them, comments like yours enthuse me to go out and do more. Ride safe, Dave
That's a lovely route! Definitely worth the trip to the wrong side of the country to visit! 😛
Yep don't change a thing Dave, the sound and view is perfect.
That view was fantastic. On camera angle/direction, keep it the way you have it. Maybe the occasional rear facing view would be ok.
Love the view from your camera just as it is.. great viewing once again.

That must be the best vid you've ever posted take your tent (and us) for an extended weekend please :D
Hi, I will be going back with the tent, fingers crossed. There are lots of places to explore there. Ride safe, Dave
Thank you for the great videos, im returning to bikes and it will be an Enfield, great machines 👍
Great ride Dave ,that's definitely one to put on the list 👍
Pleased you were able to reprise your 40 year old visit Dave
Yes that was the Jubilee Tower and Morecambe Bay with the Lakeland fells beyond.
Hi mate, I won't be leaving it so long before I ride there again. Stay safe, Dave
