Is the RBG 712 the perfect mower blade grinder? There are a couple other videos out there about this grinder but we hope to give you a little more insight. We actually have made 2 videos about this specific grinder. One about the grinder itself and one about how to use the grinder to be more productive in your lawn care business.

I've been thinking about getting this grinder. I called them yesterday. I'm from canada so its going to cost me a a lot more to get it up here. I think im going to jump on it and just get it. I've been hand grinding and its just not doing the job. Great video.
Thanks for watching. So we’ve had it for almost 3 months now and it’s easy to see that it was a worthwhile investment. I hated the price tag but it’s better, faster and any guy that works for us easily picks up how to use it.
It seems to me sharpening many blades in the same spot on the grinding wheel will cause the grinding wheel to wear out in one spot. Sharpening in one spot will leave alot of waste because only a small part of the grinding wheel is used.
Your right. It does do that.
I don't have a mowing business, just mow for personal use. Seems everyone says this is the best sharpener. To me, with the way you hold and pull the blades through, there could be a lot of user error. I have the All American sharpener and once you get the angle set, it stays the same every pass.
Could be true. We have never used the All American so we are basically just comparing hand grinding to the 712. In that comparison it is much more efficient and easier to train our employees on the machine. For personal use only, I would lean your way and say the All American would be a better value. Aren’t they like $80?
@@lawnandlight They are around $200, can still be steep for many. I guess one thing with the RBG is maybe it could be much faster vs All American since there is no setup involved. No clamping the blade or moving the grinder out of the way especially if doing lots and lots of blades. Also there is the fact that with the RBG, you can contain the mess more vs All American.
Yea true. I’ve actually been pretty impressed with how well it catches metal shavings. Brian’s Lawn Maintenance did a video comparing 4 or 5 different tools/methods. Have you seen that one?

No. I had a really hard time finding it online so I just called the manufacturer and ordered one.
