I am licensed hairdresser and cut my on hair for very long time. I am 70 and have been cutting mine since I was about 14. I also keep mine short. I do have a girl that buzzes it in back.😂You are adorable..Love your haircut.
YOU are a DOLL!! I cut my own hair and have for years (I’m 70). I have used thinning shears cautiously 😁 but have never been brave enough to use the electric clippers. My older sister will trim up the back for me every six weeks or so. I LOVE your style. It is so cute with you face shape. Thank you for this video!
I am 74 and just followed your instructions. I love the results. I am very happy with it now and will get better with practice. Thanks for giving me the confidence to try.
I've cut my own hair, my husband's hair, and my dog's hair for years. This is the best video I've ever seen for what I've aimed for. Although thinning shears are a regular in my routine, I never really got the "hang" of them until you explained moving the fingers further out with each cut. I use a Wahl clipper with combs, good grade scissors, and my desire to keep improving my technique. But sometimes I've thought my dog's cut looks better than mine. Thanks for showing how you deal with the cowlick, which is just like mine. I also now will be brave and cut around my ears. I've been trying to tuck that hair behind my ears but it's awkward. Thank you so much. I'm ready to give up the fight, at 74, and enjoy the journey. I'm off to cut my hair now!
I love what you did with your own hair cut. I am 81 years old and I have always cut and permed my own hair since I was an adult. I have some arthritis in the shoulders now but I may try this short cut when it isn't bothering me so much. Thanks for giving me an easy style to try. I've always told myself that whatever I screw up will grow back. lol! I'm Dorothy in Texas.
I’ve been disappointed with hairdressers so there have been times especially when I had no time with kids and working put in not pixie looking like long hair really but it was looking silly and old on me so keep the top longer and back short looked good but my hair dresser retired don’t trust any one els so going back to self styling
3 hours choosing which clippers, 3 hours watching videos of how to use them - 10 minutes to cut my hair! This video was one of the most useful I watched - Thanks
I cut my hair myself, and I’ve been wanting a complete buzz cut and I thought we’ll after 8 years of DIY it’s back to the salon… Nope! Thanks to you I’ll continue my own hair styling and for free! Lol you’re so beautiful! Thank you for this amazing helpful tutorial! :) ♥️
I have had a pixie for over 12 years and never in my life would I have considered cutting my own hair but the global pandemic changed that. I have ordered clippers and shears and can't wait for them to get here. When you are used to your hair super short any growth really gets to you. It is like the opposite of women with really long hair trying to preserve each centimeter of hair. I can't wait to cut mine. Thank you for this!
@@maryterhune7447I got the Wahl Professional Designer clippers and love them. Also the shears recommended-regular and texturizing. The ONLY good thing to come out of this pandemic for me is the freedom of cutting my own hair. I love it! Thanks again to Carmen for giving me the confidence and info to do this.
I've literally been cutting my own hair (the style is called a chelsea, short all over, long bangs and tiny long side burns) since 1981. It's truly not that hard, and you have to have the attitude, "It's just hair, it will grow back"
Thank you for this demonstration. I'm 70, and just when I was trying to grow my hair out in a bob, my gray hair turned very white and kinky in the back and curly on one side only. Good grief! I also have cowlicks. But watching you be so brave, I did the big chop and copied your cut. It was the answer to fighting the chaos.
this is the cut for you then. When my mother's Gray hair turned white it was a weird type of kinky hair that I hate to this and I'm sorry look like pubic hair and she had a few in the front that looked exactly the same she would yank them out by the root I swear! She passed away a couple of months ago which which leaves me as the last living family member and she was 86 but not afraid to say what her hair looked like. I think a bob would require too much care with hair dryers and round brushes. Take care and have a healthy happy and prosperous New Year!
I am 70 as well and am trying to grow my hair out fromi a very short haircut. It takes a long time to get it long enough for a short bob once it has been cut around the ear. I have cut my hair often but not sure how I would feel about mine being that short. The gray/dark would show up too quicky. I usually color mine a platinum blonde only once in six months and it doesn't show the natural too badly. Going to a hairdresser is expensive with little cash when you are old.
I am 70 as well and keep my hair short but with an asymmetrical cut. I love it with that little bit of style. I don't like boring hair at my age. I refuse to look like a clone of the blue hair old ladies gang lol. I use to be a hairstylist and cut my hair for many many years.
I used to be a beautician many years ago (approx. 45 years) and still know how to cut hair. I have always cut my own hair and I keep it fairly short. The only time I cut it this short was when I quit coloring it and let my gray hair loose! I also still cut my husband and my son’s hair. Saved a lot of money over the years too!
I too am an ol hairdresser that cuts her own hair. I love your video. Great job. I love the freedom and the feel of short hair. It does feel honest. Hair is silly.
...I am 76 now...cut hair since cosmetology school...in shops & then put my own salon in...I closed it in 2015... but still go to nursing homes...do men & women...they really do appreciate it....I get called to funeral homes too..!
Thanks so much for the step by step tutorial with very good instructions. I am 74 y/o and I cut my gray hair very short. But I decided I want a bit of style. No other hairdresser can do it for me. I am so pleased to have found your video. I shall be copying your hairstyle style very soon. And I am a minimalist. :)
I started doing my own like 3yearsago i called my fruend asked her to bring methe cliooers...she was like ohhhlawddd.. It turned out good but boy ive done some cuts that id wear a bandana from behind n tie at too for it lil bit yo it grew back too
Hi I luv Carmen's hair and want mine about in inch long all over got the long sweep now as I am growing out a mess and have no hairstylist and am broke. Was going to BUZZ a la Zen nun but I am not 25 so I chickened out. I want it like Jean Seberg's in Joan of Arc (google it!). If you have success will you come to my place? Carmen is trained and has 40 yrs (how, she looks so young!) experience. Good luck (wish my last stylist would watch her, she never spent that long and the lousy copper dye always RAN and it was permanent and supposedly good quality and I tip good but I finally got fed up. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you end up with a look you luv. Being short is great, virtually no shampoo, goop and colouring is easier and no tips or rage etc!
@@ChristyMurphyWriter Hi Christy, I started to trim my hair since that day after watch Carmen's video over and over, not the professional cut yet, but I enjoyed it very much, so convenient! My advice would be, just trim a little bit for the first time, you can do more after get use to the scissor or the trimmer's movement from the mirror.
What a great video! You are very engaging on camera. I found myself watching all the way to end. I have been cutting my own hair for 15 years in a 90 degree cut that is about 5" long. It's fun, much less time consuming than going to a salon and free! I get a lot of complements on my hair. Women will come up to me in public and ask me where I get my hair cut. I say, "In my bathroom!"
I’ve been licensed since ’84. And for many years worked as a barber. Then studied with the top colorist in the 90’s. I’ve done it all, and to myself. From hot pink Mohawk in the 80’s to bleach blond shaved in the 90’s and even hair to my rear end 🤪 And now I can see what I look like when I cut my hair in my bathroom. 😉 I now have the jaw length bob with baby bangs. It takes me about 5 min to do my hair, but I’m so tempted to go back to this. It’s a fun cut for those hot summer days and still feel put together. Thanks for the inspiration, you are adorable. 😉
My hair is actually shorter than yours, so you know how irritating it can be when it gets "long". I wasn't able to go to my last appointment before the whole pandemic started. Now we're a couple of weeks into this and I was loosing control. Watched your video last night and learned so much. Your calm presentation & clear instructions gave me the confidence to just go for it today. I was amazed at the result. I'm sure future attempts will only get better and better. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
AH! So glad I found this video.. I keep my hair extremely short also.. used to getting a haircut once a week.. its only been 2 weeks but its driving me nuts already. Figured I would try to learn how to do it myself! Going to try it tonight..wish me luck!
Y'aaall, my hair is starting look like a chia pet!! 😳 That's why I'm watching this so next week when my clippers arrive, I can do this!! Yeah! I'll either look good or y'all can start calling me Sinead O'Connor! 🤦♀️ It can go either way!! 👨🦲😂😂 Great video and I can't wait till next week! Woooohooo! 😊
I cut my hair as well. I can do exactly what I want. You just gave me a whole bunch of new tips I’ll be using without the trial and error method I use. People always give me compliments. They say they could never do it. I always respond, it’s just hair. It grows back! Thank you! This was really helpful.
WITH THIS PANDEMIC GOING ON IT HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED TO STAY AWAY FROM SALON'S & BARBER SHOPS FOR A GOOD WHILE. YOU HAVE SHOWN HOW TO CUT ONES OWN HAIR IN AN EASY EXPLAINED MANNER. I THINK MY FIANCEE' AND I CAN DO THIS CUT. THANK YOU.
Where were you when I wore my hair like that for 18 years! I could have used this terrific knowledge! Now my hair is medium length. All one length, which I find is easier than short hair. No regular hair cuts. Wash and wear. Rarely do I use a blower or iron or anything. All I need sometimes is a hair band to put up! You definitely have the cute face to wear this style!
Well, I’m a bit late to the game! I’ve worn a pixie for just about 20 years since I went prematurely white, but I’ve always had a stylist do it when I was working. My hair is a bit fine texture and has strong wave and cowlicks, so a good cut was always made my hair manageable. Fast forward, grew out the color and that’s when I went into a pixie. Retired now, moved away from my favorite stylist and after watching a few YT vids decided that I could do this myself! I do and I love it! Watching your video has helped me level up my skills as well as giving me more confidence in my decision to be my own stylist. The only thing I regret is not doing this sooner, like back in 2020 with all the lockdowns! If anyone is reading this in late 2023 and is not sure they want to take the plunge, I say “do it!” Thanks Carmen!
Only one extra tip to add to the Best Pixie Cutting video ever. You made me brave. One tip from me after cutting my knuckles with the shears more than once (ouch!)- flip your hand holding your hair, so when you cut with the shears, you are cutting against the inside of your hand, not against your knuckles. No more bandaids. Thank You Carmen!
I've been cutting my own short hair for over a yr. It's been a learning experience and a few times I got a little overly aggressive w/the buzzer; however, my mantra is, "It will grow back!" I've learned more today re. the thinning shears and wetting the hair first which I'll implement on my next cut. Sometimes I cut mine at the beach right next to my car so when I'm done, I cover the cut hair w/the sand and then jump into the ocean ... viola! ... no muss, no fuss:) Mahalo for your excellent video!!!
Hi Carmen, I watch your video almost daily and have been trying to perfect my skills by imitating your demonstration. I cut my hair today and am pretty happy with it. I think each time I cut my hair I will gradually improve. I appreciate you taking the time to do this video!
I cut my own hair too. I have natural soft curls and natural platinum hair at 73. I watched some on TH-cam but I have always cut my own hair .Thank you for sharing your hair cutting .I love the ease of it now. My style is more of a shag with curl ..so easy now .
as a hairstylist you did a great job , it works and suits you! but you may need a new pair of clippers that motor sounds a bit too loud usually sign they are getting ready to die. I wore the same look and did mine myself as well you hit on all points.
Thank you for this. I usually wear my hair longer but my last trim was in February and I attempted a pandemic hair cut. I thought I butchered it but you’ve shown me women can rock super insanely short. Will use your technique to correct mistakes as it grows out. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
I started cutting my own hair since I’ve been too chronically ill to go out for a haircut, months before the virus hit and I must say it’s the best it’s looked in ages and most importantly feels good. I’ve been watching videos of buzz cuts and side shaves etc. just for the hell of it. I came across your video and I must say you are such a sweetheart and I love your hairstyle. I have long wavy hair so I don’t use the clippers but I use scissors, thinning shears and a razor. I hadn’t thought to use the thinning shears like you do. It’s a great technique. Stay safe gorgeous and thanks for going to the effort of filming and sharing!! Xx
I love short hair and like you i cut my own hair. Always ready to go with no blowdrys ! Especially now as i stopped colouring my hair and completely transitioned. Awesome!
Just cut my own hair for the first time ever - though I've rescued bad cuts in the past, and used to do my boys' hair maybe 40 years ago! Watched your excellent video twice before taking the plunge with my husband's clippers... now waiting for arrival of thinning shears, but pretty pleased with first go!
I just love your video. I've already ordered clippers as soon as I watched your video, and I've now watched it a few times already. You're SO calm and come across as a very very nice person 😊 You give off such a great sense of self confidence, and zero arrogance which is wonderful. I too have short hair, also very thick hair! So with lockdown it's driving me CRAZY! Thank you so much for making this great instructional video Carmen, it was a pleasure to watch it and learn from you. Thanks again. Take care, Stay safe ❤
Thank you for the video! I used to wear the same cut when I was in the military and in Desert Storm. For years I paid to cut it then stopped and began growing it out naturally. Now once again I am not liking it long or in my version shoulder length. I think now I am ready to cut it super short again and saving this video so when I pick up my thinning shears I am going to cut it the same way. Again thanks for the DIY! I am also a minimalist so this is going to help and I will be able to save from having to pay upwards $20 or so dollars. You're great! Oh and besides it is just hair lol!
What a great video, I really enjoyed it . I've been cutting my hair since the '60's. I got tired of paying someone to cut it and I would have to come home and fix it.
Me, too! I started cutting and coloring my own hair since the '60s. The few times I gave in and had it done at a salon was very disappointed. I wish I could take off my head and work on it myself. This tutorial is the best ever! Now if only I could learn how to do the purple bangs. We didn't have that when I went to cosmetology school. Holding scissors and comb was working but arthritis has hampered doing things that way.
This was on my bucket list to do when I got older. Then came the virus and I have decided it's time to cross it off of my list! Hair is hair, it will grow back and I don't have to work till May, so why not? Start with a few inches off and next thing you know, you'll have short hair! Worse case scenario for me, I end up looking like Sinead O'Connor! 👨🦲😳😂😂😂 No regrets! ❤💇♀️💇♀️
Great video Love your confidence cutting your own hair. Just a tip on those clippers.. use a Cool Lube spray Aftr brushing clippers with cleaning brush. While running give clippers a spray. It should quiet down clippers. Thanks Enjoyed .
I was green with envy throughout this entire video, and totally enraptured Your hair and personality are both sassy! I keep my hair short and would LOVE to have it as short as yours. I love how easy you make it look. I know my reality will be far different, but I'm determined to try. I ordered both types of shears today....I'll keep you posted.
@@whopadeng my hair is naturally curly and thick. But cut short just like the video, it’s manageable. When it was long it took days to dry after washing and it was hot and uncomfortable.
@@kathyphifer7546 me too! Just never been brave enough to do this! Do you put product on it to get it to be straight? Or does being that short take care of that-- thanks for answering my questions!
@@whopadeng add a bit of a humidity control mousse comb throughout laying the hair flat on the head to air dry and then flat iron trouble curls adding a bit of Enjoy dry wax to smooth.
You look soooooo good in that style. I wish I could wear it but don't think it would look good on me. But this is a fantastic video. The best I've seen on DIY anything! Your instructions are clear and concise and even though I can't wear my hair that short I learned some really great techniques. Thank you so much!!!
Hi Carmen. Thank you for this fantastic video. I loaded it onto my iPad four or five months ago and it’s been there ever since! For obvious reasons, hairdressers couldn’t operate in the UK during the height of Lockdown and you gave me the confidence to trim my own hair which is a grown out pixie, it’s now a wedge cut. Unfortunately, I went back to a professional hairdresser a few weeks ago and having told them that I like the style I achieved but just wanted them to tidy it up, they hacked into my top layer that I told them I wanted to keep long! Grrrr! No wonder they failed to pass the mirror around to show me that part! I know hair grows back but I feel that I went into the salon looking better than when I came out! I have just invested in a new pair of cordless clippers and doubt I’ll bother with a salon ever again! Thanks again, your video is very much appreciated. Stay safe x
Thanks so much for sharing how you do your own pixie cut. I am 73 and have been cutting my own hair for 40 years. I don’t want an elaborate hair style that I have to keep messing with. Those thinning shears should help a lot to keep me from looking like I caught my head in the lawnmower. Your pixie cut is so cute on you. I used to have very thick hair but now it is fine and thin but will probably lend itself to a pixie cut.
I cut my hair this way using the same tools and method and loved it too. My hair is a lovely, natural light silver. Since I am hitting 69 this year I let it grow out below my shoulders one last time. I like it but it takes more time and work. This is a last little hair fling before I go shorter again. You are a delightful young lady and this was so much fun to watch. It looks fantastic on you. Thank you for sharing this.
Heather MC I don’t know where you live, but they aren’t closing down here. They’re just being safe and closing for a short time. You know because of the virus that’s going around. (World wide) It’s hard to keep a social distance in a salon. 😊
@@short-n-sassy4837 I just ordered mine from Braun. Walmart was sold out of most and Amazon the same. Guess everybody is having to cut their own hair now. I'll see how it turns out next week when I do this! 😳😂😂
Love love short hair, it is so mod and chic women not to mention youthful. Great haircut on you and I love simple hair i.e. no curlers, hair dryer, styling irons, etc. Just out the door. Thank you for sharing the video and warm regards from Texas
Had my hair cut two weeks ago, can’t stand long hair. Like you I can’t be bothered with hair dryers, straighteners etc (did have long hair as a teenager) plus I was a teenager in the 80’s and had a perm and used so much hairspray, wax, gel etc. Cost me a bomb. Now I’m 51 and have had short hair over twenty years ( you may be able to see it in my picture). A lot like yours. I go to the hairdressers every 6-8 weeks as my hair grows very fast especially on the top. Now after seeing your video I’m thinking of getting myself some hair clippers already got hairdressing scissors and sheers and doing it myself. Would save me a lot of money. Your tutorial was very easy to follow and understand. Going to wait a bit longer until I do it myself though as I have only just had my hair cut. A bit scared using hair clippers, but I’m going to do it. If it doesn’t work out I can always shave my hair off, which is something I’ve always wanted to do anyway. So it’s a win win situation. Thank you for posting this and wish me luck. By the way I’m from the Uk (Liverpool) x
Carmen Shenk Hi Carmen thanks for advice, I will definitely take my time and go really slowly. I must admit I am nervous, but what the hell you only life once. Still got quite a few weeks to go though before it starts getting longer.
Can't wait to try. Quarantine sucks. Going bald, bad hair loss. Way past 6weeks since my last cut. Need to cut my hair soon. If men can go bald women can too! Keeping it short till there is nothing left. Thanks for video
Thanks so much for this tutorial!! This is exactly what I was looking for!!! I’ve had long hair my whole life. It’s been every color in every style. I finally chopped it off two months ago and now I want it shorter and less fuss. You’re GORGEOUS!!! Thanks again!!
great job! looks so professional. i have been cutting my own hair for ten years and i have the thinning shears but have hardly used them. i will definitely try it. thank you for your video.
I’ve cut my own hair for years, largely with clippers. Thank you for showing me FINALLY how to effectively use the texturizing shears I’ve had forever!! Also, reading through the comments I want to thank all of the women who also cut their own hair and who embrace the ease of short hair. It is really difficult to be the only woman around wearing short hair...not to mention cutting it yourself. You have all given me much needed support (besides my lovely husband) in keeping my hair short and cutting it myself. 💚
I just got through cutting my hair! For the first time cutting my hair in your style..I love it.. I got nervous while doing it ...but it turned out real good. Thank you!
LOL! People have been telling me that for years. However, I already cut hair so I understood the process. And once I realized that I could have the style I wanted without the cost - the money savings was a powerful motivator! After that it's just a matter of developing the skills and finding what works specifically for you - and realizing that no professional knows your hair like you do... So I don't think it's bravery really - I think it's knowing that skills can always be learned.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ so excited to do this next week, My hair is half way down my back and so dead and gross from being bleached 🤮 I’m over it! Time for a fresh start!! Thank you for posting this tutorial!!! ❤️
It is so nice to have healthy hair again!! I kept it longer in the top part as it’s more my style, but the technique you used and the way you described things was so very helpful! Thank you very much! ❤️
I watched this video several months ago, but I was not brave enough to give it a go. I wear my hair really short as well. I was desperate to cut it after going 3 months without a cut. I did purchase a 3 way lighted mirror to make it easier, but I have to tell you, I am pumped! I gave myself my first haircut today following your instructions, and I will never go back to the hairdresser. This video is so good, and your technique is so simple to follow. Thank you so much, Carmen! Nothing feels better than getting all that hair off my neck.
I loved my short pixie but I am going for the grow out. I agree that a short cut is easy and carefree. When I wanted that feeling of longer hair on my head I decided to take the journey of growing it out. Its tough ~ the stages of growing out those shaved sides isnt too flattering. After 9 months I finally see my hair starting to emerge again and I am excited to get to a real shoulder length style. Change is fun. I am glad I tried it.
I agree. Growing it out isn't always easy, especially if you want a super simple minimalist style. Thankfully, hair grows pretty quickly. Thanks for the comment.
Since the pandemic, I've been TRIMMING my hair. Today I cut about 1 and a half inch off. I normally have a modified pixie, meaning it's not as short as yours. But you have given me hope that I can do this myself!! Thank you! You are patient, cheerful and a great instructor.
What your doing with the thinning shears is actually sculpturing the style they work awesome for that 👍🏼 I love they easy style and I it looks amazing on you
You are fearless with those clippers 😀😀 you look great. My dog had an anxiety attack when he heard the clippers and ran out of the room.😅😅 he doesn’t like being groomed poor boy. I really enjoyed this video. My hair is in a bob now but it used to be a bit longer than yours so i know how liberating it can be to have short hair. My best wishes to everyone at this difficult time.
I've worn a pixie for years. I have curly/wavy hair that has a mind of its own and only behaves when its short. Thinning shears, yes !!! My hair is thick too. I like your hair before and after. Very cute. I'm getting my hair cut this week. In a pixie, as usual :) Thanks for the video, you were a delight to watch. Well done ! 🥰💗✝🌞🌛

Great tips to use thinning shears and pull hair out as I cut. I have underused mine and will definitely use all your techniques. Your tutorial teaches me how to cut hair in the back without fear !! Yes... GIVE UP THE FIGHT !! Thanks for sharing
This is doable for me. Your presentation is really excellent. Your attitude is great. When you mess up a little bit you say no problem. Will just make it OK. That's great. Thanks
One thing that adds to the way this haircut is so attractive on you is because you have the cutest little pixie face! I don't think it would look that good on me.
I appreciate that you kept filming while you were cutting. Saying "im going to do this to the rest" and then stopping filming and coming back when done is not helpful at all for someone like me who wants to see the whole time. So thank you. Going to buy my thinning shears now. I have a pixie faux hawk and trying to get texture.
I have the exact same hair cut. I have always been a snipper. Because of the pandemic I learned how to shave it around and cut the top. The shears have made the difference. I get so many compliments on my cut and color. After chemo 14 years ago my color came in snow white. People are shocked when I tell them I cut my own hair. I do use a hair dryer and some product. I'm done in 3 minutes.
Love, love love! Your adorable cut💕 I’m from the era of Twiggy and Mia Farrow when she cut her super-long locks and still like the TRUE Pixie cut. If you’re unfamiliar with Twiggy,(a model in the 60’s), or Mia Farrow, (an actress who married Frank Sinatra) I encourage you to Google them so you can enjoy the Look from way back when 🤗💕
Thank you so much! I always cut my long hair myself, then decided to chop it off myself. I've gotten two professional haircuts since which have been so hard to stomach at 40€ a pop! I'm getting myself clippers and trying this TODAY!
This cut looks fabulous on you! I've been cutting my own hair for about 30 years and get a lot of compliments on my short pixie. Sometimes I do "longer" short haircuts and they look good too but I just cannot stand scraggly hair and am anxious to trim it whenever it starts to grow out. I don't have much confidence in myself with clippers, so I don't use them except to trim the hairline. Thanks for the tutorial; I learned some good tips.
Thank you so much. I have worn my hair this way for( hold on) 50 years. and have had many strained conversations with the cutter about what i want. NOW I can do my DO exactly how I want it thanks to you.
Thank you so much! I just cut my hair for the first time (quarantined and my hair was driving me nuts) and used your tutorial for the cut. It turned out really good! Thanks for the encouragement and content
You explained this so well. Thank you. I ordered the thinning shears. I've never had anyone explain why we use thinning shears as opposed to razor. I'm going for it. I hope I remember to do before and after shots for you. You did a great tutorial and I love your smile and the little chuckles. (I'm 73 btw)

Love your attitude. I am one of those men who think that most women look better with short hair.
Very nice tutorial.
I am a,licensed hairdresser of 40 yrs,and I must say- you did a great job on your haircut.
What clippers did you get and do you like them?
@@maryterhune7447I got the Wahl Professional Designer clippers and love them. Also the shears recommended-regular and texturizing. The ONLY good thing to come out of this pandemic for me is the freedom of cutting my own hair. I love it! Thanks again to Carmen for giving me the confidence and info to do this.
@@megaaquarius Thanks! Me too. Want to be able to cut my own pixie.

I've literally been cutting my own hair (the style is called a chelsea, short all over, long bangs and tiny long side burns) since 1981. It's truly not that hard, and you have to have the attitude, "It's just hair, it will grow back"
I've been rocking a buzz cut for 6 years now, and it was the best thing I've ever done!
I use to be a hairstylist and cut my hair for many many years.
good for you!!!!

Diane Johanson when I quit cutting hair for a living I did not pick up another pair scissors ✂️ lol
You're like the Bob Ross of hair cutting 😁 lol. God bless you
She is, isn't she! :D Love it!
I literally had that exact same thought!! Lol!!
I started doing my own like 3yearsago i called my fruend asked her to bring methe cliooers...she was like ohhhlawddd..
It turned out good but boy ive done some cuts that id wear a bandana from behind n tie at too for it lil bit yo it grew back too
🤣🤣🤣
I've been learning how to cut my own hair on TH-cam for a whole day, you made the best video on DIY short haircut for ladies, I will try it today.
How did it go?
This was the best tutorial on hair cutting ever. You have such a great attitude, too. Thank you for sharing.
This is the BEST tutorial for this process I have ever watched! Thank you so much! I think I can do this!!!!
I know you can!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
okie0915 doing the same today. My hair is uber short but my appointment was cancelled and hair is beginning to move with the shampoo. Wish me luck🌿

Yeah! They say they could never do it. I always respond, it’s just hair. It grows back! Thank you! This was really helpful.
Thank you. I think you will be helping many of us through social isolation.
Oops, I forget to put the #3 clip on before cutting the back! Unusual look for a 73 year old! Nicely done video. Thanks so much.

When I first saw you I thought “What the heck is she going to cut!!!” I thought it was perfect! But you do a really good job.
I've just had my hair cut like this and honestly I don't think I'll ever let it grow out again..
Keep at it, now that you have the skill there will be less blood next time!
I used your video to cut my own hair and it’s been a great success.
I am so happy to find someone that is so like me with cutting your own hair so that it looks neat and modern without the fuss.
It was easier than I thought it would be. It turned out as well as many haircuts I've paid $ for! Thanks for the encouraging video!
You are too cute, and your haircut suits you perfectly!
You do a great job!
I just cut my hair using your method. I love it!!!!
Awesome!
Who’d have thought cutting your own hair was so much fun.....!
I liked the before, but you absolutely rock the shorter too! Been cutting myself for a year now❤
Just cut my own hair for the first time ever - though I've rescued bad cuts in the past, and used to do my boys' hair maybe 40 years ago! Watched your excellent video twice before taking the plunge with my husband's clippers... now waiting for arrival of thinning shears, but pretty pleased with first go!
I have needed this video for decades! Must try this NOW! Thank you!
....go for it girl....it will grow!
I just love your video.
I've already ordered clippers as soon as I watched your video, and I've now watched it a few times already.
You're SO calm and come across as a very very nice person 😊
You give off such a great sense of self confidence, and zero arrogance which is wonderful.
Ann Spence , this.
I love your hair. I wish I could be brave enough to wear mine that short. Such freedom. 😀
It only takes one snip of the scissors... then it's not about courage anymore. If this hair is a part of the life you want to live, then SNIP!
Do it you wont regret it

Just a tip on those clippers.. use a Cool Lube spray Aftr brushing clippers with cleaning brush. While running give clippers a spray. It should quiet down clippers.

I have curly hair and live in humid extremely windy coastal Texas and this is my favorite hairstyle! No fuss, no muss.

Kathy Phifer, let's see your style by comparison please? Mine is curly too--
@@whopadeng my hair is naturally curly and thick.

Stay safe x
I love that cut on you! I can tell it’s who you are.
I’ve been cutting my own hair for years but really learned some good tips. Thank you.
Short hair is definitely going to be in for the Roaring 2020s. I think more women are going to shed their long locks in this new decade.
Especially now that hair salons are closing down...
Heather MC I don’t know where you live, but they aren’t closing down here. They’re just being safe and closing for a short time. You know because of the virus that’s going around. (World wide) It’s hard to keep a social distance in a salon. 😊

Hi Carmen thanks for advice, I will definitely take my time and go really slowly.

Thank you!
Wow...you're a brave woman cutting your own hair! Specially that style! ❤
Missy Camble your hair will love being healthy again!

You are lucky you have pretty features and you can wear this cut so well
I appreciate that you kept filming while you were cutting.

Thank you so much! I always cut my long hair myself, then decided to chop it off myself. I've gotten two professional haircuts since which have been so hard to stomach at 40€ a pop! I'm getting myself clippers and trying this TODAY!
Wow... you are brilliant, brave, and beautiful- thank you so much. I'm going out to get me a buzzer today.
