Super good video! I've been feeling a bit burned on souls after SotE so I hopped back on Dead Cells and I've been having an absolute blast! The only thing I'd add that I think you missed is the campy humor in the game is just incredible. There's no many moment playing Dead Cells that just have me smiling I love it so much!
I remember being stuck in the midgame and thinking that, but even if you have to use custom or assist mode to get there I'd look at the 5bc biome, it's actually really fun to play
It's crazy that I can remember the base game before the dlc but can't think of it without the dlc lol. Risk of rain 2 stumps me, I get nowhere lol. Great video, you tried astral ascent? It's my new dead cells PS: the bat was broken in the end game on its release. They toned it down. The nail you can even bounce off enemies with like in hollow knight
Dead Cells is good shit. Tons of free updates and free content, and the paid DLCs both add a large amount of additional content across all levels of play, but are also fairly priced. It's the only sidescroller I've ever played that makes dodge rolling actually feel appropriate. I think so many sidescroller devs are so obsessed with trying to be "2D Dark Souls" that they don't think about how awkward i-framing through an attack looks when you're only moving on two planes (hence why older games like CV don't have it, and modern games like Hollow Knight also don't), yet somehow it looks appropriate in Dead Cells.

I got to 3 bc a while back and I can’t get back into the game, I feel like I’ve seen it all. It’s a wonderful game

Haven’t tried astral ascent yet but it looks sick! Totally gotta check this out.
@@NextBatterUp risk of rain 2 is the most frustrating game in the genre imo

3:40 what the hell is that enemy with the text???? It's not even on the wiki...
Nevermind, it's a 'doom bringer' it doesn't appear on the wiki because it's a beta feature.
I've still been meaning to play all the DLC.
DO IT!!!!! DOOOOOOOOOO IIIIIIT!!
Sorry about that
I play a few selective so called AAA games, but these indie gems take up most of my time.
When the cells are dead
Dead cells sh+ts all over hades
At first it is as difficult as dark souls. They called it a dark souls type game based solely on rolling and the difficulty i think
Hades is more like a bullet hell game to me. I recommend Curse of the Dead Gods if you want some authentic action-roguelike experience.
