I actually get this for those who don't know.
Step 1: Fire Type. This will allow STAB.
Step 2: Wait for Sunny Day. This will increase Fire damage.
Step 3: Inferno Overdrive. You have Sunny Day AND STAB so this is pretty much a One shot kill if the Z move's power is over 100 cause... Lurantis will make that 400 power due to weakness.
I love the changes in Ultra Sun And Moon. They brought back all the villain team bosses. Giovanni was the hardest for me since he had a Mewtwo on his team. Team Rainbow Rocket’s puzzles were hard as hell. Best post game ever! Not to mention, Ultra Wormhole shiny hunting is fresh and hot off the press! Best Pokémon game ever!

Normally when i go through trials, i used my Tenacruel to used toxic then I used my Sylveon, and Komoko *KILLED* HIM SECOND TURN! I was in tears.

No, fairy resists dragon and fighting, ghost is immune to fighting. Immune means that you cant touch the opposing pokemon. Resists means its not very effective

This was my strategy with Togedemaru for “Ultra Sun” and “Ultra Moon”: wall it with a Magneton and wait for it to be reduced to struggling.
my strat was just use a god dang mudsdale it wrecked every electric type there.
my strategy was evolve my salandit and then one shot it with the fire z move
Bonus : toxic it with a salazzle first THEN stall it with magneton. 100% effective

Totem Togedemaru was my favorite. It was the only one that took me two tries, but it’s so adorable I was okay with it.

I guess Game Freak definitely buffed Kommo-o since in Pokemon Sun, that was my quickest trail cleared.

I have another great strategy for Mimikyu. If you chose Popplio as your starter - which should be evolved into a Primarina by this point - you can surf over to a staircase leading to the TM for Shadow Ball, which is not only super effective against Mimikyu, but it's also a special move, which is great, because Primarina is a special attacker. To add to that, Primarina is part Fairy type, so it will resist Mimikyu's Leech Life very nicely.

One little problem: you have to beat a Veteran who uses two Pokemon that are not only EV trained, but are actually higher level than the Totem. And you also have to save a Swimmer from some Frillish, too.
Scott Rohrbeck Oh. Well, my team was over level 40 before all that, so it wasn’t too hard. Also, the Veteran has 2 Pokémon, like you said, while the player (hopefully) will have a full team of 6, so it isn’t really impossible. Also also, having Primarina being able to learn Shadow Ball in the first place is pretty much GameFreak delivering an almost perfect strategy for surpassing Mimikyu right into our hands (if you utilize it properly, that is). If I have to get past a lousy Frillish and a Trainer with 2 Pokémon, in order to teach my very powerful starter (that resists Mimikyu’s only healing move) a move that is not only super effective against Mimikyu, but fits with said starter’s superior attacking stat, then that’s a trade-off I will gladly take.

To beat komo’o I used this team:
Malamar
Greninja(from island scan)
Decidueye
Noivern
Pangoro
Lycanroc Midday Form
I put it to sleep with malamar, used psychic twice, switched to greninja and used the flying type Z to kill him
With my malamar I flipped dem stats over with topsy turvy and then used psycho cut
Instant ohko
Btw half that team is weak to fighting

when i 1st got to Kommo-o i actually didnt know it had a roseli berry and thus my whole team got destroyed by it and that damn light screen scizor, but on my 2nd attempt i used my alolan muk and got rid of that berry with knock off
The hardest 1 for me in normal moon was the wishiwashi because of its high base stat total and how early on in the game it was

I OKO’d Totem Raticate with an under-leveled Hawlucha.

I didn't think the grass one would be too hard considering you just came from the fire one. Cath a Salandit at the Volcano Park, double resistance to grass and all it's stabs are super effective.
Araquanid was so unbelievably difficult for me since I only had a Kadabra and Torracat on my team. It was actually the reason I had to get an Ampharos on my team
Totem lurantis: alolan Grimer
Totem mimikyu: alolan grimer, Magneton or Magnezone
Totem marowak: water/ground/rock/dark types
Totem Togedemaru: mudsdale
Totem Kommo-o: Mimikyu.

The Kommo-o totem was the hardest for me. It took me three tries until I found an exploit of teaching my Lycanroc Endeavor. Then because of my affection, it would live at 1 HP. Then use Endeavor. After, just use any move to defeat it and it’s SOS. My team was good, but eeeeehhhhhh?

MandJTV I was wondering if you at least like Porygon-Z
I honestly didn't have much problem with the Totem Pokemon because I used a Malamar and I had it learned Topsy-Turvy. This moves let's all stat changes reverse. So if I used Topsy-Turvy on a Pokemon with plus one attack it will changed to negative one attack. And my Malamar knew contrary so if a Pokemon uses leer to lower my defenses it will instead boost my defenses.

Fact: Malamar breaks usum
Inkay gets foul play a level after you get it (literally on the route the professor's lab is in), contrary bullies early game, and foul play kind of just beats everything until you get psycho cut and superpower
And you can use Topsy Turvy to reverse the Totem Aura boost.
My 3rd favourite Pokémon is Inkay. So that’s good!

DJ Tile Turnip lurantis was a pain
The water trials was the hardest
They felt harder in this game, maybe to make up for the elite four being easier.
2 of them were identical, Molayne gave me way more greif than Hala, and Kahili felt about the same. Also, Hau was way easier than Kuikui (oh dear lord that snorlax)
The totem Pokemon felt easier in this game same with the elite four but that just may be because i knew how to deal with 3 of the elite four members and all the totem Pokemon that are in sun and moon aswell as usum

I chose decidueye first, so I traded it into my completed moon game, made it "remember" brave bird so I flynium z death.

I used Malamar with Topsy-Turvy for Togedemaru, made my life a lot easier.
Totem pokemon were a nice change from gyms.
Definitely a lot harder, and they fit well in alola
But maybe a bit too hard.
Can you do top 10 hardest elite four members?
For Togedemaru I recommend a Passimian. Passimian is pretty bulky in my experience so it won’t take too much damage from the non stab bounce. Just be careful of spiky shield. It worked for me and if it faints just go out to a strong Pokémon in the situation

I fought totem togedemaru 17 time and lost every time until the 18th then I finally won with it hitting itself lol
I won on my first try no flinch nothing just a quick easy battle
My tactic for each of the totem pokemon largely involved the use of Topsy Turvy once I got it on my contrary Inkay/Malamar. This inverted the totem boosts rather reliably. So *my* experience went as follows:
I didn't particularly need to do much to beat Totem Gumshoos/Raticate. (no surprise)
*DARTRIX'S ADVANTAGE AGAINST TOTEM ARAQUANID IS A GODSDAMNED LIE!!*
Totem Marowak was a nice twist, but ultimately fell before it could do much (thank you Topsy Turvy).
Totem Lurantis was about as hard as I remembered it being.
Totem Togedemaru took all of two hits once I had a reliable fighting type move.
Totem Mimikyu I had little trouble with, but it did dish out a good beating despite the inverted omniboost.
Totem Kommo-o was a non-issue at this point in the game.
I parahaxed Ultra Necrozma for speed advantage since I didn't really need the typical toxic spam after a single Topsy Turvy.

It wasn't as hard as the original games for me, mostly because of the 3 fire types on my team at the time.

On my first playthrough of Ultra Moon, I lost to the Marowak because of it's strength. I had to wait almost a week so that way I could get some money and be able to use the Pokemon Bank again. Then I transfered a Marshtomp because IDK how to catch Pokemon with the Poke Finder. I also made sure I taught my Marshtomp Earth Power via the move tutor at the Battle Resort, so that way I would be prepared for Togedemaru. I took out the Marowak, and by using Earth Power a couple times (sometimes it use bounce and spikey shield), I took out Togedemaru and my Marshtomp became a Swampert. Also the Skarmory that Togedemaru summoned had Steel Wing, so you probably lied about one of it's moves.
High Horsepower from a Mudbray can take away almost all damage from Togedamaru
Unless it uses Spiky Shield
The grass totem pokemon was SO HARD FOR ME

I definitely noticed the difficulty buff, on pokemon sun I didn’t lose till the champion fight, in pokemon ultra moon I literally lost to to some of the totems at least once and a few trainers
I actually learned the hard way that Totem Komm-o knows Poison Jab when it used said move to OHKO my Shinotic.

I haven’t watched the video yet, but Araquanid (I probably spelt it wrong) (Water trial) was SOOOOOOOOO HARD!
I had a team of 3 with two of them being weak to water (Litten and Rockruff) (3rd one was Inkay)
The rest were easy for me because Inkay which evolved to Malamar. (Most because of Topsy-Turvy)
I beat Araquanid with Charmeleon's Dragon Rage two times. Easy for some people, not for all
I killed araquanid by overleveling my lycanroc
...and a rock slide flinch, i did the calcs i would have been dead cuz i did not OHKO :P

I was watching my brother play ultra sun and he used his z move on mimiku WHILE ITS DISGUISE
So did I but I took it down
That was a foolish move. If u got a Decidueye and ur able to live a hit from mymikyu's attacks, all it would take is a sinister arrow raid once disguise is down and u can ohko that Pikachu wannabe. While Decidueye is weak to mymikyu it's also the only starter that can do super effective damage to it since Incineroar's dark type moves won't do super effective damage as fairy resists dark, cancelling out mymikyu's would b ghost weakness

I remember having lots of trouble with the totem Araquanid. I chose Litten, so it was a Torracat still very vulnerable, and I really didn't have anything that could help with killing it, in pretty sure my trumbeak was fainted at the time.
If youre still having problems thrn just use x attack/roto loto omniboosts on a hawlucha

Thanks to the Eevee egg in Paniola Nursery I raised into a Sylveon, I was able to slay Totem Kommo, and Scizor with another party member
I think araquanid was harder then togedumaru because i almost 1 shotted it with my mudbray

For me Toge was only hard cause of it's stupid partner Pokemon Dedenne. Skarmory was fine torment was annoying but no where near as bad as Nuzzle, Discharge, Super Fang & Helping Hand like I was forced to kill it before Toge otherwise it would Super Fang and if I didn't 1 shot Toge it would kill me from a crit with Zing Zap.or it would Helping Hand Zing Zap and bye half hp that way. Not to mention it tried to para flinch me a lot with Nuzzle + Zing Zap.

Yeah, i didn't many difficult with Togedemaru, But i needed several Fire Fangs from Incineroar after defeat all his allies
I had to level my inkay to level 30 before beating totem marowak. I wanted to throw my 2DS across the room. Also I kept healing against totem togedemaru until it ran out of moves. Haha.

My opinions on each:
5. I had a sylveon on my team throughout ultra moon and it absolutely wrecked totem kommo-o and then my incineroar defeated the scizor.
4. I had one hell of a time with mimikyu and it kept spamming play rough which defeated all my pokemon and I had to try like 3 times to defeat it (I had no steel types).
3. Oh god, that marowak. I had a torracat with bite and lick here, and I got destroyed. Trying to use zoroark (my dark type at the time) was awful because the stupid thing used *BRICK BREAK* on it and I got wrecked.
2. Totem lurantis wasn't that bad, but it was annoying. I only had physical moves on my torracat and it called a comfey that spammed petal shield and stupid floral -fury- healing so that took a very long time. Otherwise, not that bad.
1. *OH GOD NO NOT TOGEDEMARU* I had such a hard time with this. The *only* reason I won was because I *TRADED* FOR A HIGH LEVEL DUGTRIO. Yeah, that was hard...

I had to sack a low level diglet to proc tangling hair and lower speed, sent in trevenant who now outspeeds and burn the togedemaru, totem AI will always use bounce so i had a turn to freely leech seed the partner and then trevenant stalled out to victory
you can use the hawlucha that was traded for a spearow in the pokecenter right in front of the first trial or maybe just mine cuz my hawlucha have a speed raising nature and lower special attack which is a fantastic nature and when I got to togedemaru my hawlucha was only 2 level higher, somehow, OKO it with the fightium Z because it out speed togedemaru
Only reason I beat Togedemaru was because I had a Salazzle so I could Toxic stall.
Everyone's sharing their strategies and I wish I remembered mine more (for original Pokemon Moon, I have anxiety and never asked for US or UM and have never gotten to play them). I'm pretty sure ~10-year-old me just kept hurling herself at the battles until she won, not really caring TOO much for strategy outside of "ELECTRIC TYPE GOOD AGAINST WOTAR".

For me the hardest just like in sun and moon was lurantis, I just didn't have the Pokémon to defeat it and I had to use two of the rotor stat boosters and still did less than half with my only super effective Pokémon (it was a noibat so it was pretty garbage)
Togedemaru was also extremely difficult since my team which would eventually have an alolan marowak with lightning rod didn't have that and was extremely weak to electric and couldnt hurt it due to its extremely strong defenses and types
I had a Lvl 33 wishcash with EARTQUAKE, and when I fought togedemaru I crit the togedemaru and OHKOd it on the first turn.

Totem Togedemaru was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo easy. It took 5 turns to finish the trial. I think the hardest was Totem Araquinid or Totem Alolan Marowak

+2 to all stats at the start and quiver dance!? It got +6 on me right away in sp attack, sp def, and speed!! Not to mention a freaken blissey with HEAL PULSE for ribombee, literally u cant use sp attackers! And my physical attackers like decidueye couldn’t do enough to this guy at all without it getting healed. Not to mention to annoying steps to get the totem to come with the petals
Oh also togedamaru wasn’t hard at all for me but that was bc I traded my alolan marowak to SM to give it shadow bone and I gave it earthquake and flare blitz too, so 4x thick club earthquake, and my marowak had lightning rod too

My lycanroc knew stone edge, so OHKO...granted I tried that after two failed attempts at not taking the easy way out in that battle.
On my run ribombee did nothing but set ups. So I just did topsy turvy and nuked it
