    Finally a nice generator design that will definitely work perfectly. Gasoline engine, 12 V dynamo + 12/220 V converter. Absolutely perfect, no nonsense. It can be seen that autot has some knowledge of electrical engineering.

    This was a brilliant idea. Just one thing I would change - swap the green pushbutton switch and the red on/off switch. That way, you could momentarily press the green button to start it, and use the red one as an ignition switch (switch closed = spark shorted to ground = ignition off; switch open = ignition on).
    Lastly, your inverter will only accept 10.5 to 15V DC. If you over-rev or under-rev the engine too much the voltage from the motor will be out of range and inverter will refuse to turn on (as happened to you at the end of the video). To fix that use a DC-DC converter - some $10 ones take 5-32V input and can make a constant 12V output. So your inverter will work no matter the engine revs.

    Creative Channel, One modification I would recommend would be the addition of a 1 farade 20 volt capacitor like the ones used for car audio systems. This capacitor would take the place of a battery for the inverter.

    • @porkiedev7
      @porkiedev7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@garlandchinedu1120 A capacitor acts as a battery except it dies in a few milliseconds, the reason they are used is so if the engine for some reason randomly changes RPM the capacitor keeps feeding a solid electrical input to the inverter. To put it simply it stabilizes the electricity in the event the engine starts acting weird, if you had a charge controller and a car battery you could also build a battery backup generator that would continue outputting power in the event that the engine runs out of fuel and you need time to refuel it.

    500w electric motor running slowly then transform by onduleur with a few lost of energy will give you maximum 300/400w 220v AC
    That works it's really well done and could be really useful if no electricity
    If you want more power you probably need to accelerate the 2 stroke engine but this will consume quickly the gaz tank, and in all cases you'll never be able to produce more than 450w of electricity
    500w generator minus power lost

    • @CotyRiddle
      @CotyRiddle 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the RPM drop you speak of is because the drag the motor presents as a load is applied. Same thing happens in your car when you turn on the headlights or anything that draws a lot of current. a better way to fix that issue is to make it increase the throttle when the rpm starts to sag. using a battery as a *capacitor* while it will work it will ware out the battery as it will not be a regulated charge.

    • @milcotto4153
      @milcotto4153 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CotyRiddle - You use the generator and a decent batterycharger to charge batteries. You don't put the batteries inside the generator. That is not safe.

    • @CotyRiddle
      @CotyRiddle 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@milcotto4153 I think you miss understood what I said. Of course you would not put the batteries in the generator. What I was implying is that his way of loading the system is improper. He is pulling more current then the battery it's self is supplying. One way to fix that is to get a larger battery that is capable of higher loads. Another is using and different setup to where the alternator is not loaded down so much and or having a bigger 2 stroke that has more torque.

    • @CotyRiddle
      @CotyRiddle 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      and if he wants tos tick with using an alternator as a generator he needs to change the regulator to constantly output 13.8 volts as it will eventually kill the battery if it can't maintain that voltage and increase the rpm's that the alternator is turning at. 2300 RPM would work better.

    Can anyone tell me what voltage that battery is cause its a 24 v motor that looks like a 12v . How would that work ?

      DC Motors running as generator voltage output varies depending on RPM. He set the RPM so that it put out 13.8 v without a load.

      what about the starter battery?,,, when its running can that over change/overheat? ,, possible fire hazard ?

    • @YvonSmart
      @YvonSmart 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lakesideinc the started battery is a 4s (16.8v when fully charged) bigger than 12v~13.8v but still can't cause problems. Unless he forgets to disconnect it from the system once the engine starts. Still, in that case, the system will be attempting to recharge the lipo battery which should be safely charged through a balance charger. The lipo pack is just at risk but won't blow up since it's under lower voltage.

    Have you thought about putting a momentary push button switch in place of the rocker switch that you have for your starter? It's just a thought I had. Good job young man!!!!

      it would not burned because he switch off the button after he start the engine so the electric courant will not charge the lipo

      dude the lipo battery can resist to 50 C when it full charged and 80c in normal condition , this man know what he's doing ,don't bother yourself looking for faulty problems

    You'd do well to use a 4 stroke engine with generators. They use half the fuel, last longer and don't get as hot. Also, in addition, they start much more reliably. 2 strokes are rebound for being difficult to start and get need oil added to the fuel. This is why generators are sold with 4 stroke engines.

    • @jclowe735
      @jclowe735 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not all generators have a four stroke engine some of the smaller generators do have a two cycle engine and produce far less electricity than the larger ones do.

    it very creative, using an inverter as a regulator. it be a lot better if the motors power be utilized to its fullest by adding a governor, i was expecting that part on your vid on how you'll make it. but then again very ingenious. :)

    nice, im going to make my own very small generator wit a tiny vintage motor, might not use a invertter cause i might just use it for something spacific like emergency lighting and mabey as a usb recharging station

  • @rsz90182
    @rsz90182 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think you should have a voltage regulator on that DC motor so the RPM does not make the DC motor throw out too much input to the inverter.

    • @hermasmora
      @hermasmora 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah like a 120v regulator and maybe a battery of some sort to provide stable current

  • @thiloschieschke9766
    @thiloschieschke9766 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello.
    Your idea is good, but you should use a three-phase alternator of a Car.
    With regulator. Speed is not important then!
    and the inverter works better!
    and a small battery (12V) as a buffer is also good (12V 7-12Ah) and then it works 100%.
    the petrol engine must have 150% power of what you need.
    best regards from Germany!
    Thilo Schieschke.
