      They work out just living their daily lives, it’s like that with all wild animals, even humans. If you or I lived in the way our early ancestors did in Africa, hunting and gathering, we would also be extremely fit (assuming you got enough nutrition) and there’d be no reason to like actually workout, workouts only exist because we don’t live like that anymore so we have to artificially make up for it with structured exercise.

    • @bunguaamongus
      @bunguaamongus ปีที่แล้ว +44

      @@brentlionakaboldchamp a gorillas legs are not stronger at all. Humans have the strongest leg muscles out of all great apes, humans are the only ape that evolution decided to make have strong legs compared to upper body, every other great ape has a stronger upper body. What's even more interesting is why every goober under the sun thinks an animals understanding of leverage is impressive. All animals have an inherent "feel" for this stuff. When you throw a ball do you intellectualize it and learn the ins and outs of the wind resistance, speed, weight of object, etc? No you just THROW THE BALLS. It's intrinsic

    • @righttohavebeararms.4300
      @righttohavebeararms.4300 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@bunguaamongus I'm gonna have to disagree there. They definitely have stronger legs than we do. They just don't know how to use them the way we do. If they were allowed to train with weights and were capable of learning exactly how, they would far exceed any weight records we currently hold within a couple of months without the steroids we use to achieve those numbers. They are stronger in basically every way that involves brute force. The only way we are stronger than other primates our size or in this case bigger, is our brains, nothing else. Sometimes I even question that one.

    • @brentlionakaboldchamp
      @brentlionakaboldchamp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bunguaamongus Gorilla legs are stronger, lol. Humans just have a lb for lb greater percentage of leg muscle, but Gorillas still have stronger legs. I know this by comparing average jumping ability. Gorillas can jump slightly higher than normal people, on top of being significantly heavier. Gorilla legs are stronger than their arms, also, by a significant amount. Who told you Gorillas had weaker legs?

    • @bunguaamongus
      @bunguaamongus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brentlionakaboldchamp The ability to walk upright on two legs, or bipedalism, is one of the defining characteristics of human beings. While the great apes, our closest living relatives, share many anatomical similarities with humans, they are not capable of walking permanently on two legs. There are several reasons for this.
      Firstly, the anatomy of the great apes is not optimally suited for bipedalism. The shape of their pelvis, for example, is different from that of humans, with a narrower and more funnel-shaped pelvic opening. This makes it difficult for the great apes to maintain balance and stability when standing or walking on two legs. In addition, their knee and ankle joints are not designed to support the full weight of the body when walking upright, and their feet lack the arches and other adaptations that humans have for walking and running.
      Secondly, the great apes' muscles and other soft tissues are not adapted to bipedalism. Walking upright requires significant changes in the distribution of muscle mass and the shape and size of various soft tissue structures. These adaptations take time to evolve and require a strong selective pressure to occur. While some great apes, such as chimpanzees, can walk on two legs for short distances or periods of time, they are not as efficient or stable in this mode of locomotion as humans are.
      Another reason why great apes are not permanently bipedal is that they have not faced the same environmental pressures as humans that would favor this mode of locomotion. The evolution of bipedalism in humans is thought to be linked to a number of factors, including the need to cover long distances on foot, the ability to carry and transport objects, and the need to regulate body temperature in a hot and arid environment. Great apes, on the other hand, have evolved to live in a variety of habitats and have adapted to different ecological niches in different ways.
      Finally, it is important to note that bipedalism is not a simple or straightforward adaptation. Walking upright requires a great deal of energy and places significant stress on the joints and other structures of the body. This is why humans have evolved a number of unique adaptations to support bipedalism, such as the development of the arches of the foot, the shape of the pelvis, and the curvature of the spine. These adaptations have allowed us to walk and run long distances, carry heavy objects, and engage in a wide variety of activities that would be difficult or impossible for other animals, including great apes.
      Gorillas don't jump using only there legs, that's actually disgusting that you unironically believe anything you said. You are just flat out 100% wrong. Stop.

    • @HannibalKantter
      @HannibalKantter ปีที่แล้ว +1

The strongest bodybuilder, he's around 130kg, or around 270 pounds, mind you, was able to lift up 500kg for a few seconds, and he sustained grave muscular injuries, and had an internal bleeding afterwards, that's how much he had to force his body. Gorillas have been documented lifting logs of almost a ton without even trying, and is estimated they can lift two. Their muscles aren't built like ours, they have way more fiber on them. A 400 pound trained human wouldn't do shit against a 400 pound average gorilla on a fist fight. Chimps are smaller in size and weight than the average human, and they're still around 50% stronger than a trained human. Gorillas are on whole other level.

    When pulling down on anything, the only restriction is weight. You can't push down on something with more force than your weight exerts, unless you pick up something else to make you heavier.
    So this isn't a testament of the gorilla's strength. It is simply his weight mixed with a little bit of torque about the longitudinal axis of the log that applies a focused force on the rope, thus cutting it.
    The gorilla figured out how to cut the rope by twisting the log while standing on it. This can be prevented by sheathing the rope at the point where it enters the log.
