It sure does help to have the project so exposed and in the open, not needing to work upside down and backwards.
Этот винт легко можно было открутить простой отвёрткой, на крайний случай ударной. А тут видео ради видео. На таких маленьких винтах экстрактор не работает, если резьба прикипела, нужно сверлить глубоко и маленьким сверлом, чтоб не срезало шляпку винта. А тонкий экстрактор тупо сломается если резьба дейсвительно прикипела и высверлить экстрактор практически не возможно. В этом случае только греть и ударная отвёртка.
You know it might help more if you put the drill in reverse before you try take the screw out the first time
Just a note, before you attempt to remove a screw like this, hit it with some PB blaster a few times, let it soak for maybe 20 mins, often, screws like this will come out easy, if not these extractor bits are great
These extractors have been around for many years. If the fastener is stuck very tightly then the extractor will break off just as the torque reaches maximum force of the tool it.
They work great when the bolt is already loose!
Easy outs were a staple when I was an aircraft structural mechanic in the Air Force.
I've used a very sharp and wide punch and hit the side of the bolt to twist it counter clockwise also or weld a nut to the bolt 🔩

Ive tried numerous bolt extractor sets and never have luck with em. Maybe for a low torqued one like this maybe.

Spraying some lubricant on the screw and heating it can help loosen it out.

I used one of these yesterday. Works like a dream, but correct and careful preparation is essential.
The extractors had been sottong in my toolbox for years before yesterday. Good to have some on hand.

So amazing that when you out the tool your wanting to work you backed the screw out in the correct direction. The Phillips head would have worked if you backed it out instead of trying to tighten it

I have never once used an extractor successfully. They have always broken in 1/2 and we’ve had to drill it out anyway.
The screw was loose already, they pre-stripped it out. You can see the head wiggle when they're drilling it
Maybe do not use a drill next time? 💀
Maybe if they would have started backing it out instead of tightening it, it would have worked the first time.

So nobody going to mention u can see the screw start to tighten when he started drilling it meaning its already loose and likely been taken off and screwed back on lightly to make it look like the tool worked as advertised
Something cool I learned. I was disassembling a lg condenser unit and had stripped two small Phillips screws on backside of electrical box. I didn't have my extractor set so I took a self tapping screw and drilled it in reverse and it worked!! Probably not effective on every stripped out screw but it actually worked for me that day!

Easier way. Don't use power tools. Bit of CRC and use a screwdriver. Problem solved

Next time try loosening it at first instead of tightening it
They are called left handed drill bits. Look them up. They help in a lot of situations

I've bought multiple brands of those and they never work.. I just hammer a torx screw into the stripped one.. Comes out everytime

I just had a mechanic that got a broken seized bolt that was causing my truck to leak antifreeze
I don’t like those extractor kits. I just grab my grinder cut a slot in screw head and use a flathead screwdriver to unscrew it.
At that point just buy a new starter
