@akankshasingh3747 firstly I am not from India. Secondly she just found a product that already exists outside of India and brought it into India. That was it. There are other Indian Startups which are way more original

I don’t know much about the brand she launched in India, but here in the States, "Kind"-the brand she mentioned and assumed to be healthy-is actually one of the unhealthiest options among the many products marketed as healthy snacks. The issue is that consumers often don’t read the ingredient labels; they only focus on marketing and packaging, which can be misleading and unregulated. I hope her bar is genuinely healthy and not just marketing hype.
Absolutely worth watching every second! I wonder why did she end up selling Yoga Bar to ITC. What I've seen in this space in the last few years is that a lot of players try the online model and end up in losses to be eventually acquired by a legacy brand. In this case, she went offline first. She had already laid the foundation to make it big!
Important note it is easy to build a business if you already had money, network, connection, and first world insist in first place for example living in USA in first place then copying a already working idea from there
Notable Quotes: “I don’t think I was primarily motivated to create a large business and make a lot of money. That wasn’t my motivation.” “The best kind of brands in business are actually built from fleeting moments of the heart and emotion.” “If you know a brand that actually is found a way to be on the shelf and is available on a Dmart and Reliance, it’s full proof that the brand has arrived.” “You have to be crazy because you think at that point of time that if you are convinced, you'll be able to convince everybody else to eat the product that you make.”
It's just so insightful......that's really so kind of her to explain in details from her experience.......we would never learn about these from university degree.....thank youuuuu!
As someone who works in VC fund, online selling as D2C generate higher margin than offline in one of our company investment. Its all about marketing strategy, and type of product you sell.
Currently i am working in Africa for long term project when my colleague asked I want from India i just tell him to bring yoga bars of almost 8 kg with some dryfruits
I guess this is the first time i am watching growthx cover a female entrepreneur. There are so many woman entrepreneurs like her in India but i guess there’s a reason why such platform only covers a few of them and primarily focuses on male entrepreneurs. And before you think that how does it matter, trust me it does!
Insightful video! Just a suggestion: INR 40 gets you the bar with 10g protein. The video shows a bar with 20g protein. Please change that since it’s misleading.
Thats expensive, i was curious on protein bars. Its a tad bit expensive and its not technically a protein bar but a healh bar with dry fruits mixed in it.

When you say grocery shop owner liked your product, what kind of grocery shops are you talking about? If it's small size grocery shop owners, like kiranas - - are they not at a lower and medium end of middle class who also might not have a mass premium mentality? Even if you give them for free, is it something they really want? - do kirana owners actually sell a product if they find it really good or they sell it because the margins are higher, the supply chain is easier, because they struggle the most with these two?
As the avg household income increase people start to became qoute and qoute more health conscious and ready to spend more money on these things and more money on pets etc etc
even though I am good at English. I don't like people speaking in English living in India. Majority of the people in India who are actually interested in building brands, do not know English.
India is a multilingual country. People living in south India don’t speak Hindi and people living in north don’t speak Tamil. So English is the only medium to unite India .
500 crores is good enough for her and her 5 generations. Why work more? 😂 Also yoga bars taste horrible and worked because they were first to market and had great operations and marketing. They won't survive in international markets because the competition is very high.
Key Takeaways: Mission-Driven Approach: Starting a business with the goal of adding value to society can lead to sustainable success. Importance of Offline Presence: For food brands, proving success in offline stores is critical before expanding online. Strategic Market Focus: Concentrating efforts on a single geographic area can help refine the sales strategy and ensure effective resource utilization. Adaptability in Crisis: COVID-19 pushed Yoga Bar to strengthen its online presence and diversify product offerings. Effective Branding: Consistent and vibrant packaging helps in creating a strong brand identity and appeal. Sales Team Training: Ensuring that the sales team understands and believes in the product is crucial for convincing retailers and customers.
she did a mistake selling brand. you can't expect corporate giants to give the same quality and vision to customers like a founder would. the only vision they have is money making. I won't buy from this brand now
This is your biggest mistake, yes you got the money but the quality of the product will definitely decline, and all the nasty additives will be added with ITC. Yogabar was the only trusted brand muesli i used to eat, and now it's gone. 😢 I was expecting Yogabar IPO but this is sad move.
Suhasini is a D2C legend. The offline insights here are craazzyy 🤯
For sure 💯
Go to USA > find a product > implement in India > sell it to established Indian company. 👏🏼
Indian people mostly copying ...you are right man ...
Exactly! There is nothing original about the product
if it’s so easy why don’t you do it
@akankshasingh3747 firstly I am not from India. Secondly she just found a product that already exists outside of India and brought it into India. That was it. There are other Indian Startups which are way more original

These bars are surely healthier than regular chocolate snacks but they r selling this saying 8g Protein ( & have 9 g of added sugar😂)
*High protein breakfast bars

Most D2C founders build a brand to get acquired and have a handsome exit. Very few become real cashflowing brands like Boat, Mamaearth, etc.
But she had huge losses and depleting cash reserves

These are the type of content I am looking for in TH-cam. A big shoutuot for the hoster. Lots of help.
I'm 19, I aspire to be people like this ❤. The way she explains makes me excited about the world and its opportunity
Daammnn!! This is soo insightful and soo on point!! I can relate to it 100%
Damn. The amount of insights she gave is insane. I don't really get why they sold the company to ITC
Because cash was running out and the losses were piling up. Simple
Swas's story is proof that believing in your product, even against all odds, can lead to monumental success. 📈🔥
I found the whole truth much tastier. I ordered yoga protein bar for the first and last time in 2022 from Amazon, it was just not edible.
Insane Value!!! So many lessons :) Thankyou
Loved this! Very in depth and it was interesting to hear that online doesn't work as well in India.
Amazing information regarding the product category, marketing & distribution network & even on online - offline trade.
Please remove the green timescale from bottom left corner it’s very distracting, other than that video was great man……❤
Hope ITC doesn’t dilute the brand and keeps it healthy. Love the Yogabar products ❤

why did she sell this company !!!! it could have been a great international brand ..........

Packaging is same in protein bars 😅
Modi used jai sri ram + yoga for votes and she continued using yoga for bar. Job done
The taste is really bad.

Healthy
@@sayansaha1997 i don't see that as healthy.
The taste is decent for a health product. If you are comparing it to a chocolate bar then sure it won't taste great

what a mediocre and copycat idea? Well, mediocrity can be commercialised
Well her "mediocre" idea was sold for 500 cr. That's what it's worth. How much did you sell your company for?
she did a mistake selling brand. you can't expect corporate giants to give the same quality and vision to customers like a founder would. the only vision they have is money making. I won't buy from this brand now
At the end its all about money.
why do the hard work and then sell it? you could make more money off it in the future
And sell it to whom “ badam halwa” khane wale ko?
This is your biggest mistake, yes you got the money but the quality of the product will definitely decline, and all the nasty additives will be added with ITC. Yogabar was the only trusted brand muesli i used to eat, and now it's gone. 😢 I was expecting Yogabar IPO but this is sad move.

I don't like those products they say they r healthy r the product ingredients really healthy do you think so 😅
No ideas are original tbh
It’s tasty & I’m glad I could gift somthing heathy(better option) than Cadbury
I love yoga bar breakfast cereal be it muesli or chocos. Great initiative it is really healthy better than Kelloggs.
I will add another channel to gauge success, quick commerce platforms like Zepto and BlinkIt
Why the details of selling yogabar is not in the discussion.😮 Half of information is worst that no information.@growthx
