Dude the way you grew a channel about cleaning goes to show how passionate you are 😂 I own 6 birds and 2 dogs. I don’t ever want you to judge me off how my apartment looks 😂 just know I’m trying my very best
Cleaning is what I do for a living, so I am in the niche on days when I want to be and on days when I don't want to be as well lol.
Absolutely will share this video with family and friends. Cleaned my bedroom lamp in 20 minutes.
Glad you found the video helpful!
I used your method of cleaning 2 of my fabric lampshades. Great tutorial and excellent advice! They look as good as new! Thank you!!
Thanks for the testimony! Happy to help!
I just did it! It definitely works! Lamp shades so clean!
This method seriously works! I had these lampshades well over 20 years and was thinking of replacing them. It was fun too. Thanks!
Happy to help!
Awesome, I've always been stressed out over dirty lampshades, mine are just dusty, and I stay on top of using a blower or a handheld hose with the dusting tool, which does a good job. But I really like your way deep cleaning a fabric lamp shade
Thank you so much for this video. I bought two beautiful lampshades about 10 years ago and over the years they became so dirty but I had no idea how to clean them. I saw saw this video and I must admit was very nervous to try this method but went ahead. I pretty much followed it as described but for Australian people I used Napisan Oxy Action and about a tablespoon of Morning Fresh dishwashing liquid in a bathtub because my lampshade are too large for a bucket. I socked them in warm water and used the same kind of brush as described to remove any stains to gently remove. I then rinsed clean and they came out absolutely beautiful. I could not believe the amazing results. Thank you so much xx
Happy to help🙂
Thank you so much!
The lint roller is a great hack. I was afraid to use it thinking it would pull the fabric.
And definitely needed to know the stain removal. It made my lamp shades look like new!!
You are welcome!
I have used warm water and the wire parts of the material rusted
@@kaysorrell9655 I was wondering about that, with the rusting parts while letting it sit. I was thinking that maybe to dry the metal parts, and let the rest sit to dry? 🤷♀
I just cleaned my large fabric lampshade today using your advice. It came out not quite perfect, but definitely better than expected, given my level of patience, and considering that the stains had been on that trash picked lampshade for awhile. I’m drying it out in my bathroom right now, using a dehumidifier and the bathroom fan. After that, it’ll be ready to donate to the Goodwill. I hate needless landfill. Thank you!
Glad it’s working out for you!🙂
You did all of that just to give it to Goodwill? Wow, that's super kind of you to do that! I'm not being sarcastic either, it's really kind. Not many people would go through that effort just to donate it. Kudos to you! 🙂
@@Beatlesfan1076 I was thinking the same thing. What a kind soul!
@@CleanWithConfidenceI showed my 82 yr old MIL this video as I noticed she was getting ready to clean her fabric lampshades...
😂😂😂
She wanted me to tell you she already been done knowing th9s and that's how she done it for 65 years! 😂😂😂
(My point is, your video is Grandma Approved! ❤❤❤ 👍 👍 👍)
The lint roller is brilliant! Thanks for sharing
You are welcome!
Oh my goodness! Level One Cleaning! That is the exact lamp shade that I have😲!
Just tried the lint roller, worked fantastic thank you!!
Happy to help
Finally, the video that I needed, thanks!
You are welcome!
Great advice. Great results.
Glad you found the video valuable!
That was easy! Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome!
Great! Info! Also how to get stain out of tub??? Tried everything.
Wow it worked using the lint brush. Thank you
Happy to help!
I was so tickled 😂 by your opening introduction, and your funny facial expressions kept me laughing so much--that I actually stopped the video to subscribe and leave this comment!
Thanks for being humerous, yet sincere in your presentation. Now, I'll go back to the video😁
Thanks for the comment Miss Denise! Welcome to the channel🙂
Excellent thanks for the tip 👍

Great information. Thank you

i just thrifted a lamp shade and i wanted to make sure it was clean before i used it. this as so helpful thank you!!
You are welcome
Same here, found a beautiful lamp for only $12
Great informative video like always my friend.
Happy to help!
Thank you for your suggestions on cleaning lampshades. How about silk pleated lampshade cleaning? Is it the same method?
Going to give this a try. Thank you
You are welcome
I usually just spray mine with Krud Kutter, leave it to soak for 10 minutes then rinse off with a warm water spray, but I have to say that the oxclean idea is brilliant!
:)
Thanks mate
You are welcome!
Thank you I haven’t been able to find a replacement so I’m going to try this
Happy to help
The movers stained my expensive z gallerie lamp shade, so I’m eager to try your method to try and salvage my beautiful lamp! Thank you!
Happy to help!
Other vids say not to wet them. The inside of my shade looks like silk fabric, still ok to use the dip method? Shade fabric is beige color, has some stains. Lint roller worked for the dust though.
Just found this awesome channel! Cleaning Savage! Too funny. I just subscribed. You're great.😁👍
Hey Amy welcome to the channel!!!🙂
Perfect 👍. I just subscribed to your channel! 😊👍. Thank you
I like the bucket to submerge the lamp shade in and can't be happier with the everyday (what I already had on hand) supplies. But I'm really commenting bc I stole an idea from another vid and thought I should share. I have a pleater fabric lampshade and found that a brand-new medium paint brush was perfect for my situation. Thnks again. I look forward to watching more of your vid tips. 🙃
Welcome to the channel!
It seems simple and makes sense....but.....I’ve never thought of doing it this way. Excellent advice!
Absolutely! Works like a charm!
Agree. LOL
Thanks a lot man, I just found a vintage Mickey Mouse lamp and shade was dirty, this really help!
Great! Glad you found the video valuable :)
What if one side is fabric with thick plastic on the inside???? Will oxy
clean work for that? Or will it mold in-between the fabric and plastic?
You're submerging the shade with the three metal pieces in the center?
Can you link the videos for cleaning other types of lampshade materials please.
Cheap (new) paint brush works amazing. That’s what I use.
Nice
Nice!
Thanks!
Best cleaning solution for this, super gentle, is called Orvus. I swear it will not disappoint. All natural, developed for fine quilts and delicate lace.
Thanks for the recommendation👍🙂
My Dad use to say a clean stove is a happy stove 😁 or anything you clean is happy !!
Smart man!!

What about deep cleaning a lampshade made of a delicate fabric like silk that also has an interior lining?
How do you clean yellow/smoke/out of a white shade? It's fabric on the outside plastic inside. Bleach?
Is it okay if the inner part is plastic? I hope water will not make part with plastic fall from the fabric.
Thank you for showing us a before and after.
You are welcome!
@@CleanWithConfidence lol. But really, thanks for the tips. I'll give it a go on my lampshade this weekend.
@@ranjitragu Cool! Leave your testimony in the comments section :)

I’m no cleaning savage… but being a bachelor… I let slip the tiny issues that the ladies see as a down fault… do a clean fan video… I recently got called on that as well… god love’m
Were you able to find a good video yet on cleaning fans? Are they ceiling fans? I need help in that area as well. Can you drop the link here so I can see the advice as well? Thank you!
Wow! The lint roller worked beautifully, but I don't have any OxiClean at the moment! What type of multi-purpose household cleaner or detergent can I use in place of it?
Awesome! Honesty, I don't really have any other suggestions other than that Oxiclean. Anything else and I would just be experimenting like you. :)
You could always try baking soda. I have used it at removing stains in the past. Worth a shot!
You should do a video on what pledge is good for and what it is not good for. I use it all the time for various tasks.
My son came back from marines boot camp and said they use it on everything including the floors but man it was slippery lol
Great idea!
I have white shades and got coffee stain on it so I quickly went to wipe it off I see a tiny bit of faint brown.
Also the white shades are going a a bit dingy dirty. I want to rinse them in water and napisan (stain remover powder) then rinse off.
I’ll try it at some stage. Then let them air dry.
I don’t have a bucket or bathtub… I have a bucket foot soak thing but it’s too small lol… dang.
What can I use if i dont have a lint roller?
😘thank you😘
Happy to help!
I have that exact same lamp shade. The lamp shade brought me here. Did you get you lamp shade threw Home Interiors?
Not sure, it’s actually my wife’s lampshade, I just clean it🙂
@@CleanWithConfidence ahhhh I see
Where is the video for paper parchment or plastic lampshades?
Dude, ive been wondering about what it looks like when its dry??
I saw these beautiful "crinkled paper" lampshades (cealing) but it worries me about dust etc gathering any tips?
Link to them? I’ll have a look
Please do a video on "How to clean fabric upholstery sofa", thank you!
Hey Janet, I actually have a video on how to clean microfiber furniture. It's one of my older ones, probably like the 5th video I ever created. In it, I completely transform a recliner.
How do you treat the eventual rust?
You won't need to, it drys pretty fast.
You say it's for fabric shades. Does this include silk?
I wouldn’t recommend it for silk, as water will leave spots, especially on raw silk.
Does it have to be “Dawn” dish soap? Also I have some “Arm & Hammer plus Oxy-Clean”. Will that work?
Any dish soap will do, I just find Dawn works the best.
oxi clean mixed in the bucket of water?
yes
Perfect got to try 2night 👍🏽
🙂
Ok this dude read my mind when he broke out the oxy clean. 😂
Does this work with mini lamp shades for chandeliers?
It should if they are flat and you can roll the lint roller directly on the surface.
@@CleanWithConfidence I had to wash them as the are in my kitchen dining room and collected grease. I used your method with Dawn, a nylon brush, and a soft toothbrush for around the scalloped braid at the top and bottom. They look new. Thank you. I was dreading it. I was prepared to order new ones.
@@nighthealerrn1695 glad it worked out for you!!🙂
Hi dear our lampshade is fabric with copper plastic. My son put oil on one side and it has lots of small stain how can i clean it could you tell me.
Hello Shamima, I am not an expert in stain removal. Not yet anyways lol!! I would just stick with trying to remove stains with the regular stain removal products you buy from the stores. Just follow the instructions on each bottle.
Where's the paper lampshade link.... Please
Awesome channel! We went to school together. So crazy I found your channel. Anyway Hello!

Clean With Confidence yes I’m Shelly if you can remember...lol! can you believe it years ago. I first found your keurig video and I was like “hey that’s tommy”...I know him”. Lol. So cool
@@LivNtheBESTLife I remember there were Shellys just not any specific one lol! Great to have you here on the channel. I hope my video helped you with your Keurig :)
Maybe you should expand and cover how to clean human skin lampshades... They might be in high demand soon with the next generation of college graduates...
That was a great video on how to clean a lampshade. I’d like to make a suggestion on how you could prove your videos. The sound quality of your videos is not the greatest because you’re a room with a bad echo. Tried doing your videos in a smaller room.
Why did you leave out paper, parchment, and plastic shades? I have a paper lined one with a liquid spill stain
I believe he said that he would have separate videos for cleaning paper, plastic, or parchment lampshades. He left them out because the procedure he explained in this video only works for cloth lampshades.
Bump the lampshades; I think you are so handsome!!!!
Thanks. What are you doing with my lampshades!? 😆
Use paint brush , that brush will lift the knit
Why not show the before and after?
Next time use a lavalier microphone for your audio. It will enhance your videos by 1000%. Other then that, come up with a five second intro with home made music of some kind. Edit: Also have some way people can contact you such as an email address and or P.O. Box.
Thanks for the tips! People can actually message me on the Clean With Confidence Facebook page. I also have an email in the description of every video.
I have been afraid that dunking them in water would make the spines rust.
You may want to use a clean bucket next time LOL
It was clean just stained👍🙂
The lint roller doesn’t work for my lampshades. The fabric has ruffles so I have to vacuum them.
Cool video
🤣🤣🤣👍👍
NOT for silk
It’s a hack, if you will! LOL… thanks for the hack…
