    my machine start descaling immediately after I hold both button about 6 second, I didn't have choice to press lungo button, 2nd rinse showing clear water but I rinse with clear water for 3 times to make sure no chemical left in the machine.

    Here are tips for descaling your Citiz (Note: these may vary with different build versions, but the same controls/concepts apply):
    1. REMOVE ANY CAPSULE in the Citiz and CLOSE CAPSULE LEVER (if you forget a capsule inside, you CANNOT run the now coffee-contaminated solution through the Citiz again)
    2. Turn the Citiz ON and REMOVE CAPSULE TRAY (there is a sensor) before pressing the Espresso and Lungo buttons together to enter descale mode
    3. MONITOR the flow out of the water reservoir and press the Lungo button to PAUSE THE FLOW BEFORE THE RESERVOIR IS COMPLETELY EMPTIED (this avoids possible air intake problems)
    4. If you run extra descaler and/or rince cycles back-to-back the Citiz is likely to overheat and stop working, with buttons continuing to flash but no button input response (no, it's not broken). Turn power OFF and REINSTALL CAPSULE TRAY before allowing to cool for 20 to 30-mins, or longer if room is very warm. Once sufficiently cooled down, turn back ON then REMOVE CAPSULE TRAY and Citiz should be back in descale mode, press Lungo button to continue flow where you left off
    5. When done rinsing, REINSTALL CAPSULE TRAY before pressing Espresso and Lungo buttons together to return to normal mode (indicated by button lights flashing like a normal cold start)
    6. Unless you have very soft water, descale your Citiz regularly based on how frequently you use it. Consider running the descaler solution through your Citiz SLOWLY (pausing a few minutes before running more through) - this helps avoid overheating and allows the solution to better break down and flush-out deposits
    7. Bonus tips: Always preheat your Citiz and your cups with a no-capsule, plain hot water pour. And don't store water in the reservoir when you're not using your Citiz, even overnight - always pour-in the freshest water (ideally filtered) before each usage session. And leave the capsule lever up and open from time-to-time to allow the chamber to dry vs always holding a small amount of stagnant water (especially if not used frequently)

    what happens if you press espresso button instead of lungo?

  • @Anna-abc
    @Anna-abc ปีที่แล้ว +75

    The user manual should absolutely warn that the unit must be turned on and the blinking lights should be continous when pressing the lungo button. I pressed espresso and lungo buttons together for 5 seconds and they both started blinking, but after pushing the lungo button the flow was not continous and I had to push the lungo button again multiple times. Turns out it was another setup mode and not the descaling mode, even if both modes had the two buttons blinking at the same time, but the other mode had them blinking at different times and the other one had them blinking at the same time. Anyway this was a problem because the descaling water overflowed when it was not in the proper mode, and wet the entire machine from inside and the whole table where it was. I don't know why this even happened, the machine works normal when making lungos, but the descaling mix when pushing lungo buttons just destroyed the whole thing. Luckily I'm good at engineering and took the whole machine apart and washed all the plastic pieces and put it together and then rinsed multiple times. It turned okay, but the whole ordeal of cleaning out the water from everywhere took me half a day and I don't want to do it ever again. I even tried the proper descaling mode with just water afterwards and it still overflowed a little, so I just don't trust it that much anymore. I don't use tap water with my machine but spring water from big jugs so it doesn't even get limescale buildup, so I won't be doing this again unfortunately. I just thought it would clean the machine properly, but what a mess. I don't even think my machine would be broken since I don't ever get overflowing issues when making even two lungos in a row. The mess would probably have been smaller if the manual told me that if you have two lights blinking but not at the same time, it's not the proper mode and you should exit that mode and do it differently. I don't even that I did something wrong since the manual told to proceed when you see two blinking lights, well there was two blinking lights and it was the first time I descaled the unit, so I proceeded, not knowing there are two modes with two blinking lights and the one I was in wasn't the descaling mode. This is unprofessional and should be fixed so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. I even read the manual multiple times, I just thought that when it said the device should be on that there should be power going into the device, since the lights went on after using the button combination, so I didn't think it was wrong. This shouldn't be so easily confused, it would be great if the other mode flashed the lights a lot differently and the manual was clearer about the different modes. I know I wrote a lot but after cleaning my whole kitchen for the whole evening, I don't have many positive thoughts. Yes, this could be classified as an user error, but the machine still overflowed a bit in proper mode, and the difference in the modes isn't clearly mentioned and the manual can be misleading. I don't hate the machine or the company, it's a wonderful solution, but this is even more of a reason this process shouldn't be so unprofessionally documented, it makes the product look bad.

      @Anna-abc 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @@Dzurky Of course this wouldn't happen to everyone. I told about my case just to warn some people that it's really easy to mistake the different modes. It should be made easier to distinguish that you're not in the wrong mode. This one part should be explained more clearly. If my warning helps even couple of people that won't be making the same mistake, my mission here is done. It's not about if you're intelligent enough, since I do other things in life that reguire pretty high knowledge of things. Mistakes can happen to everyone and if there's two modes that behave almost the same and it's too easy to accidentally be in the different one, then I think the the fault is more on the manufacturer's side than customer's. There are people that make mistakes far easier even if the instructions are clear, and this should be taken into account.
