Love your videos thank you. I was grade 4 aged 13 and then I quit. I’ve been playing again for 5 months aged 50. Your videos really help me. I think I need to join your channel 😀
Could you react to Phyxinon's arrangement of 'Marigold'? It's an incredibly challenging piece, yet it's played so beautifully! I'd love to hear your thoughts
14:12 i went through the exact same thing, i loved the 3rd movement since i first heard it like 10 years ago, and 3 years ago i moved to a school with a piano and figured i can try it, so i just watched like 30 hours of music thory, tried understanding moonlight, started playing it, practiced a bit, and just got bored after finishing the main arppegios part, and thats a big issue i have, losing motivation very fast thats why i havent progressed a lot in these 3 years. also, for beginers, i dont recommand doing what i did cause i now have pretty bad technique
With the learning of many pieces in a short amount of time you can actually “overlap” multiple pieces at once. Usually when I am learning a song there will be around 2 or 3 others that I am focussing on as well.
The point about telling a story is incredible in some early pop music. Take Pink Floyd‘s comfortably numb, the song goes through periods of angst into bliss, but this bliss is drug induced and not real. Not only do the lyrics tell the story, but the guitar and instrumentation ebb and flow in order to put the listener in the mind of the storyteller. These kinds of storytelling devices and dynamics are often lost in new music, which is just dance and have fun. Nothing wrong with it, but we are flooded with that kind of pop music these days which I think is why most people think that pop music sucks. It’s kind of like when everything was disco, and there was very little of anything else going on.
Would be cool if you could do a breakdown or reaction on phyxinon like marigold or anima. I've been having issues playing Marigold. It would be cool to see your input.
Hi Matthew , I have a question, I recently got some silicone notes on Amazon ,that you place on your piano to identify the notes better, and as I was doing an exercise, my book called for a D but for the left hand so i go and check the note on the silicone note and the little black tail is up , but on my book its down so It should be a low D with my left hand? its the closest D to the left before middle C, I think they might have an error on several vendors , i checked their images and according to the placement I think it should have the tail down instead of up. Sorry for the craziness I don't know who to ask, and its really annoying, cause i wasn't sure if I was using the correct finger , any feedback about this is greatly appreciated. ty.
In written music, the “tail” is just relative to the staff. So if a note is below the middle line of the staff, the tail points up. If it’s above the middle line, it points down. It’s only for making things easier to read I believe. It actually doesn’t indicate anything about which note it is at all. Hope that helped! :)
i dont understand the argument " it will sound bad" someone likes a piece but its too advanced. these people like a song sooo much that they wanna play it really bad, how will it ever sound bad? these people have ears, they dont need to read the sheet music, they know this piece already when they listen to it ofc its time ineffecient, but even that is debatable Edit: ah yes Animenz, okay that is an exception never play animenz as a beginner xD
Bro Chopin dropped a new single, Waltz in A minor

There's a classical pianist/composer you should react to, his name is Joshua kyan aalampour.

Can you react to worlds end valentine piano version from the game omori? Especially one from the youtube channel "Sheet music boss"
What if your hands are too small to play an octave? 😭
