- Part 2 of an early 80's training video promoting Toyota vehicles in Australia. See all the old classic toyota including FJ series and the tough 60 series in different terrain throughout Australia. Back when driving was the entire job of the driver... no computer/electronic assistance.
When you travel offroad in a Land Cruiser just must bring a piece of rope and a shovel... If it were a Land Rover you should bring spare alternator, two set of wiring harnesses, one electrician, one mechanic and enough food and water for the whole personnel for three days.
And bring another Land Rover

Although I was too young at the time to drive a car, I remember when the Toyota Land Cruiser looked like this.
And today they tell us not to drink the fuel... Goes to show.
You've gotta respect the native land if you want to drive on it.
How about opening the bonnet when using the winch to prevent the windscreen breaking should the cable snaps under stress.

This is a lot of great information, especially if you don't do much sand or water work. The safety aspects are great as well, I can't tell you how many idiots I have called away from a winch line under tension........

Bar Grips, it's a very old style off-road tyre that is best known for being used in WWII. They were already pretty old and outdated when this video was made, but worked ok in the mud.
