I need to change my strut on 2011 528i do I need to take the lower control arms off and the tierode apart? Or do I need to take off everything you just take off?
I don't remember. It was a long, long time ago. You can try without and should you not be able, you take off the lower control arm. By comparison to other cars the BMW suspension has more room form movement of parts.
I don't remember having to hammer it out. If you need to do it, and don't want to really use a hammer, use a jack and lift the lower wishbone ... place a piece of wood and just lift it a bit.
Yes. All of them have it. Never seen one without. I was reading something that the M sport or M cars have one that is more rigid, and was thinking of getting one, however it is money wasted as I don't drive the car anywhere close to it's limits.
the stabilizer bar should work like a spring, only that in it's case it will mainly twist not compress. Now when you weld something, the heat needed to weld the material will change the structure of the metal and from it being elastic it will make it brittle. The problem with using a stab bar that is welded might be that when you are taking an corner at higher speed it will snap and unbalance the car, potentially making the driver loose control. if you want to save money on the part, a better way is to take out the stabilizer bar completely, by doing this you reduce the cornering capability of the car, but the car is predictable, you will know when it is loosing grip.

How did you align the shock absorber with the top?
maybe this helps you th-cam.com/video/mZAllmZTrtM/w-d-xo.html
Did the wishbones from the ball joint side come apart just as easy as in the video (6:45) from the housing or did you have to hammer it out ?

@@BestCarMods thanks for those useful tips :)
Do i have to check wheel aligment after this procedure? To mention i only removed the shock and the spring assembly
Yes. different springs will require alignment
Do I have to buy the other parts to install the spring kit or can I buy the spring kit alone and install it
you can install only springs.
@@BestCarMods why did you install the other parts then what was the purpose
Good video. Could you please tell what are these jacks you use to lift whole vehicle? Thanks!
search for quickjack. th-cam.com/video/S-mglQMsvig/w-d-xo.html
Did your SE spec car already have the front sway bar already fitted from factory?
Yes. All of them have it. Never seen one without. I was reading something that the M sport or M cars have one that is more rigid, and was thinking of getting one, however it is money wasted as I don't drive the car anywhere close to it's limits.
Any idea if it comes sounds from the front suspenion when driving but the care drives normal ?
lift the car and check for play. th-cam.com/video/WgUvxZSd6kQ/w-d-xo.html My car when driving did not show any symptoms.
Amazing video 💯💯💯
How is the comfort?
The comfort is the same as before.
Can the broken stabilizer bar be welded and used?
